  1. haha, we swapped bikes and still whoever had kenda tyres couldn't get up it. I have nearly died riding the rocks in Blackburn on my old kendas, NEVER again!
  2. no I wasn't Wish I was though, that riding is just amazing!
  3. no idea who the rider is, but I LOVE Nicolai bikes!
  4. I saw a good test at the last bike show, there was a sloped plastic obstacle that we were trying to backhop up. the riders with maxxis tyres had no problems, however the riders with kendas just couldn't grip and it was impossible to backhop up.
  5. maxxis are going up too, they will both be around the same price soon. Also, Conti de kasier and rain king have even better grip/ puncture resistance/ weight than maxxis, so there! don't let the door hit you on the way out.
  6. they sure don't grip like kendas!
  7. only idiots can roll their ankles in those shoes!
  8. another vote for 5-ten freerunners.
  9. proto try-all tyres from what I heard.
  10. wait for a de kasier or rain king, they kick ass over the rubber queens! I found the rubber queen to lack grip, deffo not as grippy as maxxis! Also I really dislike mountain kings for the front, stick with a maxxis or try-all.
  11. hmm, won't be going to france if it means missing lee quarry, sorry
  12. off work due to injury at the mo Its probably really busy today so unfortunately the phone lines may be overloaded.
  13. welcome onboard team mate! Glad your liking the bike, I know I love mine! Are you riding the nationals this year?
  14. ha ha, I see what you did there
  15. if you managed to get a comp going, I would love to travel over, I have always wanted to visit!
  16. I need to check if there are any comps on that clash, and then see if I can get some time off work.
  17. I would say anything Trialtech, but seeing as I didn't buy them, I don't think they count. As for the parts I am most happy with: My De Kasier tyre the Urethane I use in my rear brake errm, thats it, most other parts I didn't buy.
  18. got an email address and blasted one through, I am not holding my breath, but lets see what happens. I did work experience at Orange years ago and met Steve Wade (one of the owners). I showed him some of my (BAD) drawings, he was really kind and showed me some top secrete CAD designs of the prototype Zero and even did a CAD design of one of my drawings (still got the print off now). This was about 9-10 years ago now! I hope he remembers me
  19. nice one Ben! I knew you were riding well when I saw you a few weeks ago, I need to ride with you more! some of those moves in those pics looks MASSIVE, nice pics too. I am gutted I wasn't there.
  20. The downtube on a bike is one of the most important parts when it comes to stiffness. Orange use folded sheets of alloy to make a VERY stiff, strong and light downtube. It makes the whole bike mega stiff and is hard to dent as well. Orange have advanced their downtube design now too (lighter and stiff with more folds) So if they combined that with other modern design features as well as up-to-date geo, it would be an amazing frame. I am going to try and organize a meeting asap.
  21. would come but still injured, have a good'un
  22. theres LOADS of natural where I live (Hebden bridge, Rochdale etc) its still a bit of a trek for you, but its closer than Matlock.
