  1. been done, was crap.... because disk levers have smaller pistons, its moves a lot less fluid, so you have to set your brake up extremley close to the rim, so even the slightest buckle will make it rub. Also because of the piston ratio the lever will be about as stiff as cooked spageti, sponge city! Also, the resevoirs dont have any say on poiwer, they are there to allow for fluid expansion from when the fluid heats up from going down hill and so on, the fluid can go in there rather than pushing on the pads and eventually locking the brake.
  2. its not a new idea.......... Mbuk showed a virsion a year or so ago, but it was too flimsy, yours might be better.
  3. I am also trying to learn to tuck. I can do it on sidehops, but only to front wheel landing. I can do it just sidehopping i the air too, but when it comes to landing on a wall, it goes out of the window :(
  4. the advantage of feeling like your touching your toes all the time you mean?
  5. I have heard that 4 x is good for rotational strength (as in accelerating) but not so good at compression (drops) so I think 3x is a comprimise
  6. I was most impressed!! I cant do those momentum gaps at all, I need to practise B) nice one (Y)
  7. I think you could be right about the bars setup. Adam Read was at back cowm quarry t'other day and I had a go on his bike. I was riding around as normal then remembred that he used to ride the onza proto with the +85bb? I had to look at the bike to see if it was the same one and it was! (Y) I just didnt notice, but he did spend a lot of time making sure he got the perfect bar setup, I really think that makes a difference.
  8. not one of the riders you mentioned, but its of Iolo who is also a very good rider, I also think its very well edited and goes with the music very ewll. Iolo Au Naturel

    Stokeplaza

f**king jammy git, that place looks rediculous!!
  10. I entered my first comp after about a months of riding (back in 99) I just had a standard xc bike, no trials mods to it at all. I was really crap, I couldnt trackstand, backhop or anything. I entered novice and came 13th at my fist comp. Going to them really helps you to improve, at the end of the season, I was comming in the top 5 and ended up 3rd overall, I was well chuffed. so dont worry about how good you are, just go and enter them anyway, you will get better faster.
  11. yep, its good (Y) the rocks and moves dont look as big as they do in real lift though :)

    Drop Offs

if you dont know how to do them, I dont reccomend going for somthing high, learn the technique on small things untill you know how much you need to drop the front for given hights.
  13. not 100% if I am going or not, depends if I can get a lift. (no one would be going through hebden would they?) also it will be VERY muddy, so be prepared.
  14. yeah, your reply was more sensable than the others (Y) and Martin, tap down to the wheel? whacha mean by this?
  15. I am sure I measured mine at 113mm, might be a 118mm though
