Ok, computers buggered and I have no idea how to fix it. Started off by running the windows update programs as usual. All going fine, everything updated, blah, blah, blah, and then Spysweeper perks up. Spysweeper kicks up an error message saying that the windows updater is trying to access the internet and that I shouldn't allow it to do so. Having ignored Spysweeper in the past and it being to my misfortune, I blocked the updater. The windows updater then throws and almighty hissy fit at me and says its deleting everything its just updated, and that its taking Spysweeper down with it. Several hours earlier I had also (inadvertantly) downloaded Google Desktop (which fortunately had a version of Firefox on it, hence the reason I'm able to type stuff here) I restart the comp and immedtiately its apparrent that somethings wrong; to load the opening screen with user selections takes a good six minutes. After selecting my user name, another five minutes to open the desktop. From there, a message from Spysweeper pops up telling me I need to reinstal it as a vital component has been deleted. Hardly anything is working (Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, etc) and I can only just get firefox to work. there also are no program icons coming up in the task bar so I can't minimize anything without losing the program. Add and Remove programs opens but isn't allowing me to delete anything (the google stuff, spysweeper, etc). I'm really getting annoyed by this as it appears that three seemingly harmless programs have ripped the internals out of my computer in one single sweep. Anyone have any suggestions which don't involve the words 'recovery disc'? cheers Rich

Me and Ben Moore have got damn close (tap, clear over, turn 180 in the air) and I'm pretty sure I've seen Jamie Pedrosa do a full 180 off a tap. Rich

There are two ways of doing this: One is to tap, stick it to front wheel and bring the back up to the side using the endo. The other is to go as if to tap OVER the wall and land squarely ontop of it to two wheels. To pull off the latter: Roll up to the wall as if you're about to tap (body crouched, weight slightly forward, ready to put the big pedal stroke down to lift the front) As you pedal the front up to tap the wall, you need to be going at a very slight angle. As your front wheel hits (and it needs to hit pretty hard as its going to bounce you and a bike onto the wall) keep the bars parrallel with the edge of the wall (i.e, keep them facing forwards) but instead of pushing the back wheel out from underneath you, push the bars forwards, and you ahve to seriously twist your body in the direction you back end should be going (rule of thumb: Left footed, back end swings to the right, vice versa) and suck the whole frame up underneath you. When you land on the wall, if someone were to take a picture the split second your tyres land, they shouldn't be able to tell weather you're doing a sidehop or a tap 90; thats how much you have to tuck the bike underneath you. As the rear wheel lands on the wall (probably slightly after the front) you'll be hanging way off the side of the frame and back over the edge you just came up, but your momentum should immediately pull you upright, where you can stand up, trackstand for a minute, bask in your buddies applause and awed orgasm noises, and ride away with Gace Kelly. So to summarise: Ride up normallyPedal and pull the bars normally but with a slight twistTap the wall HARDkeep bars straight but twist your body out in the direction you want to goTuck the bike right up under you by unweighting the pedalsHit the anchors as you landStand upLook coolGrace KellyBabiesHappily ever afterFor additional help, check out the videos D15C_Summer, damon_tarty_ttl_2 and Damon_Video_3 Hope that helps Rich

I get the feeling you're all looking into this a bit much...
-
We were looking at it, but it honestly doesn't look like the most stable structure in the world. Manning could shake it a good 1/2 foot in either directions with his hands... Rich
-
Nah, just been trying that with my bike; pulling my levers as hard as I can and moving my arm and hand into all different kinds of positions. Nothing. EDIT: and before anyone asks, yes, I have checked my hands for extra knuckles and I only have the normal five three per finger
-
Pic is of a sidehop yesterday at spice island in Portsmouth. I know its a bit random, but I've never noticed this before: Look at the circled bits over both my hands. Is it just me, or do I appear to have randomly placed extra and enlarged knuckles on both my idex fingers? Anyone shed any light? Anyone else get this? Rich

Some nice pics there, glad some of me surfaced (trying to keep up with the big boys Manning and Wheeler). The 180 up to that rail was terrifying... Rich (Leeson Thumper)

That was quick we were only in Bournemouth last night! You know its not Trust me, WAAAY to many chavs. Oh and awesome vid andy, you certainly know how to make me look good (and thats not easy...) Rich

For all those disuaded by the weather, you all need to think less Travis and more Bon Jovi, and keep the faith! Oh yeeeaah..... You were pulling some smooth shit at spice island dude, well impressed Was an awesome day, I had an excellent time seeing some old faces like Andy P and Jon Chubb, who big props go out to for organising the ride, was spot on. Also really glad with some of the stuff I managed today, and everyone else (apart from kennard ) was riding on top form; hope Jonny gets a good vid out (props to Jonny Jones for showing up with a busted ankle). Mole grips... I think the funniest part of that vid was the slowmo sound as your rump hit the deck right at the end. Hope you were ok dude. Rich

Just spoken to Mr. NBR, looks like Poole then Rich
-
Agreed. Just because its not rocks doesn't make it easy.

f**k yeah. erm, top tune to ride to would probably be Milemarker - Idle Hands, or at the moment Children of Bodom - Living dead beat Rich

Just wondering if anyone facies a ride somewhere (not portsmouth) before the DJ ride on sunday? Weather for both days looks good. Any takers? Rich

From how Danny Butler explained it to me, before the cousts no one actually 'tapped' their from wheels in order to gain lift, always more like placing the front wheel on and then rolling swap up to back. But meh, one of those questions that's never gonna have a definate answer really. Obscene vid, little too much flickering though.

Why Do Us Brits Have To Pay So Much!
Rich Pearson replied to Boswell's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Sorry, WHAT? -
In all honesty; yes. I had the impression that you were another clone of Damon Watson who only knew how to tap gap and sidehop. In fact you appeared to be a very well rounded rider demonstating a variety of well honed and precision skills such as I had not expected. Respect blud.
-
I think mine are bleeding, I really wasn't expecting that... Signed and sent. Rich
-
That was actually remarkably good, for some reason I had totally the wrong impression of you (not nessecerily (sp) bad), just different. Bails on the spools were amusing. Rich
-
Probably because they came up with the idea and developed it.

Has trials forum suddenly become a breeding ground for racist, xenophobic, homophobic psychotics? f**king moron.

All things prevailing I should be in oxford tomorrow. Rich
