  1. I'm sorry? I wasn't even paying attention to who it was people were talking about but it was hinted that someone may be fortunate enough to have parents willing to spend a lot of money on them as a gift. It was just my general thoughts on the matter. Also, with regards to your counter arguement to Simps, I don't think we're just talking about cheaper bikes but bikes that are better suited than the more expensive alternative.
  2. It's not my problem it's just some advice.
  3. Because it's a better use of money and if the kids are smart enough to realise and not spoilt little brats (I know rich families of both sorts) then they'll appreciate it alot more in the end.
  4. I would like to go to Canada for a year, maybe more, when I graduate next year. Would want a proper engineering graduate job though, not a working holiday thing with bar work or whatever... Dunno if there's any organisations that sort that kind of thing out but from what I hear about the demand for graduates in Canada it shouldn't be too hard getting a VISA?
  5. Maybe Daddy could buy them a nice computer/TV/console instead of spending money on a bike that won't last as long as the cheaper alternative?
  6. But definitely not you... not ever.
  7. You could make an emulsion. Although isn't that what you have already?
  8. Those cranks are going to be about as torsionally stiff as a piece of overcooked spaghetti...
  9. Bang on. and yeah I totally agree, hence it not being a significant problem Sorry, being on placement and having no coursework leaves me wanting to pick holes in stuff just for the sake of debate haha
  10. Personally, given the weight of the frame and, more importantly, the relatively high price I find that a bit disappointing. 12 months would have been reasonable and I think is a fair time to expect this frame to last.
  11. plus one "Proper" work really does show you what's valued in employment. I'm only 2 months into my sandwich placement but already I'm so motivated to kick the shit out of final year
  12. What sort of warranty can we expect with it?
  13. Aren't they just extruded through a die? The punch for the holes isn't gonna be too affected by the wall thickness surely?
  14. HAHA they're probably all made in China/"the East", the manufacturers won't even know what ISO is.
  15. I sometimes warm new grips up to get them on if they're being particularly difficult. Whenever I've used hairspray it's never really worked well, gunna see if I can get hold of some spray mount at work and maybe try some Trialtech foams.
  16. Could very well be interested since I might actually have some money this year
  17. That's just pure London though, not the case in the entirety of the South.
  18. Having tried various different rear rims, I swear by the V!Z 46mm rims. I have no reason to doubt the single wall SL ones will be just as good quality.
  19. The increase in cost would be huge. The weight really wouldn't drop much either.
