Teenage Angst Communal Agony Aunt Thread

Pure speculation here but sounds a lot like her dad is the violent, threatening type... -
Remember watching his videos when I was still learning trials, gutted to see yet another young rider lose their life. RIP Gav.

And the frequency of the AC current. My my aren't these facts interesting
-
Did you have it heat treated after welding at all?
-
Considering some of the shit some students come up with that still somehow passes, I hope you get a f**king awesome grade. Very impressed by the amount of work that's gone into this. Well done, seriously!

I understand, I was just explaining why I thought it wasn't a good example. I was merely trying to understand why you thought CFRP wouldn't last.

Yes its brittle but its specific properties are much higher than any aluminum alloy so a rim could be made much stronger and still be lighter. The panels on a kit car aren't usually structural parts so will not be designed with high loads in mind.

I can't be bothered to look this up properly, but I'm almost certain this is a lie. The amount an animal sleeps is directly proportional to it's size. For example elephants only require around 4 hours sleep.

Yes they would. People's aversion to carbon fibre as a strong material drives me nuts sometimes!
-
I'm not sure the trials market is prepared to pay for them. It would be awesome to see them out though...

Love the photo of me coming off the see saw dude. Nice photos all round, fancy forgetting my name after our chat though

When I did my rear rim (I did 4 holes around the spoke hole) I made up a little template/jig, centrepunched each hole and then rinsed through them all on my dad's pillar drill. Even then it took a LONG time, not sure if I can ever be bothered to do it again!

He will be furious that Benito is not riding Koxx's 24" comp bike. Oh wait...

Just speaking to Ben on the phone and we were wondering, is there gonna be lighting and stuff in the evening? Or is it a bed time at sun down / fire up the cars' main beams sorta vibe?

Excellent video!

Sorry to drag this back up but mine is showing interest in attending too, weather dependent!

Lucky you

Kyle has been through 7 Hope Pro2 hubs and counting now... They are NOT the best cassette hubs. However they are by far the best value.

I prefer my Phats to the TNNs I've used.

The limiting factor is the tyres. If you are already locking wheels easily with smaller rotors then bigger ones will not see much of an increase in performance. The additional inertia of larger discs won't make a noticeable difference to the point of locking up, plus you've still got to slow that extra inertia down too!
-
The problem here is that trials riders are quite blinkered into seeing brakes as just being things that lock wheels through their leverage and power. However in the majority of vehicles the way a brake functions usefully is to convert kinetic energy into heat. A larger disc has more capacity for this heat and a larger surface area over which to dissipate it so is therefore more efficient at converting a moving vehicles kinetic energy. The benefits of larger discs begin to run out as you approach the limits of the tires on which they're acting.

This might be an infection sorta thing. Because I'm currently suffering from abdominal pain and headache and it's very similar to what a colleague had a few days ago. Before that I had crampy muscles, achey joints, massive headache, high temperature and was shitting through the eye of a needle.

Dj Memorial Ride Portsmouth 2010 - 22/23Rd May

What a weekend! Managed to ride topless all Saturday AND Sunday with only a bit of burn going on on my back! P20 for the win!!! Saturday, nice chilled riding with a fairly large turnout! Got to know a few faces/people. Hogging Chinnery's mod. Massive skidding competition at Nelson's monument. Bylaws! Then we tried to find a cheap hotel. Managed to lose Chinnery and Jack Dickinson in Portsmouth after the fools didn't realise we didn't have their numbers to call them! Then a massive quest for their numbers began, phoning everyone we could think of to try and get it! Then find out they've had to make a topic on the forum to get hold of us! Ending up going all the way back to where we started and staying at the Ibis. Blagging a twin room for 4 people. Securing Kyle's Audi by reversing through a bush to get next to a lamppost so the boot couldn't be opened. Kyle trying to get a Fat Pants esque photo of me in the shower... Jack Dickinson spending £30 in Spar. Drinking in Simpson's flat. Mario Kart champion chair. Ken's kebabs and fried chicken. Danny Kearns talking about goats. Jack Dickinson shaking in the corner. Going back to our hotel room and sleeping terribly. Getting a call off Jack Dickinson in the morning saying he's lost his iPhone and asking if we've got it, we come to the consensus he's stupid as we're sure we saw him with it the night before. Getting to Kyle's car and finding the iPhone in it... Meeting eeevvvvvveryone for the big group photo. Jonny Jones falling over. Riding terribly all morning. Playing more football than doing riding at the courts. Skoze looping out on his BMX and slamming hard winding himself. Skoze then feinting in mine and Simpson's arms cos he can't breathe. BOOM. Recovery position bitches. Iain somehow biting his arm in a bail at the ruins. Boob watching at Pyramids. Scaring the crap out of the fit birds sunbathing. Taking the long route back to the car. Skoze's bag'o'drugs! Adding "Emma Skoze" on Facebook Finding a KFC in Eastleigh. Me and Ben beating Kyle and Rich in a £15.99 Boneless Box duel. Pendulum's Big Weekend set playing on the way home. Oh and... BOH! Think that's covered most of mine, Kyle's, Rich's and Ben's weekend, now I'm off for a cold shower and bed! RIP to all the riders we've lost and a special thanks to the memory of DJ which has led to this awesome tradition!
