  1. An employer would have to be absolutely retarded to judge job candidates purely on their place of education. There are a lot of clever people who can achieve great things academically yet they still act like complete retards, just think of the socially inept nerds at school and imagine them trying to integrate into a large team. They won't be as effective as someone with a lesser education but a much better ability to interact with other people. I'd say your place of education would be pretty low down the list when it comes to comparing candidates. Only when they've exhausted comparing results, experience, achievements and even outside interests would they use place of education as the deciding factor, unless you've gone to a really shit Uni and the other has gone to Oxbridge.
  2. No it was the ones that I think are the bone stock levers for Shimano brakes nowadays, or perhaps Deore?
  3. Those are the ones!!!! So good!!!!
  4. To get mine on or off, I use a pump and an inflatable ball needle. If you pump like crazy the grip should "float" momentarily and you'll be able to incrementally move it off the bars. If you've got access to a compressor I can imagine it being super easy.
  5. 's parts are here, keep your eyes peeled people...

  6. I'm back to Brum for final year in October.
  7. The 2010 Saint brakes are a rerun of the 2004/5 (?) XT brakes, I had a set on my Kona Coiler Dee-Lux before it got stolen back in 2006. They are still, to this day, the best feeling brakes I have EVER used. It's one of those unquantifiable things but they just seem to give so much information back to you as you squeeze down on them. I've not tried the Saints, but as I said the calipers at least, are an exact rerun of the old XTs, just with a different finish.

    New Hs33 Brake

Looks to me like a sticker, or a plastic cover with a faux carbon finish.
  9. The old polished T-Mags were terrible for it as they did not feature a gusset like the one pictured above (clearly Onza learnt from that mistake!). I think it's more of a question of bad design. A bashplate is there specifically to be bashed instead of the frame, it wouldn't be doing much good if it still caused the frame to break! If well designed the bashplate should prolong the life of the frame; even if when the frame finally fails it's at the bashplate mounts, the main point of including one is to extend the frame's life.
  10. Sellotape usually needs periodical replacement (every 3-6 months maybe) in my experience but as mentioned it saves a fair bit of weight and is much cheaper than proper rim tape!
  11. Common sense would say that it'd improve your your wheel control or 'placement' as you can no longer rely on the brakes to save you from poor positioning. Same goes for weight distribution, you have to have it exactly right on wedges/wodges as the brakes are no longer there to help out. Another thing would be improving your 'flow' and perhaps smoothness.
  12. Amazing lines, so much creativity, and some massive moves to boot!

    Nike 6.0

US entry is by far the best, but they're all superb watches.
  14. Tom sounds like a f**king dick.
  15. I'd recomend, for your sake and all us cyclists, you make a formal complaint to your police service. The way they handled your complaint was pretty disgraceful yet at the moment it is probably down as a good job in their books. The more this is allowed to happen the more the police will continue to act so poorly concerning bicycle theft.
  16. I'm looking for the exact same thing atm (albeit second hand) and the main bikes I keep searching for are Scott Ransoms and Trek Remedys. They seem to match up my requirements best atm, but I'm still getting my head back into the scene!
  17. Surely you want to go up? Push all the blood in the swelling back towards the heart?
  18. Your pedals are probably mostly aluminium. Magnesium is added to enhance it's properties (along with a few other metals) to produce what's generally known as a magnesium alloy (even though, as I said, it's mostly aluminium). Nitromors is designed to attack paint not metal, if it was oxidative it would probably rust the crap out of steel frames, so it should be ok for your pedals. Just exercise a bit of caution at first, maybe trial a small area just to be sure and then carry on from there.
  19. Would seriously appreciate some opinions on this one, there's some big discrepancies between the listed spec and what I can see in the photos/video so there's an easy way out... Cheers Glen, I'll keep it in mind but it's probably a bit too much for me.
  20. I accidentally bought this today Scott Ransom 10 Have I got a good deal there, or do I need to "find a crack" when I go to pick it up
  21. Anyone got an old hardtail frame sitting around I might be able to have/buy cheap? Looking at 18-20", would like to have v-brake bosses if possible but anything will be considered.
  22. All the ones I had "back in the day" were fine. Just have to make sure the lockring stays done up, which isn't an issue if it's welded.
