  1. Everyones apart from jakes If you can't find the receipt for the postage, and he hasn't got his item, then he would certainly win at a small claims court. Because what you've done has amounted to little more than theft. Theres no proof of you having posted it and your refusing to give him his money back, at least, thats how it would be looked at by the court. As for the msn convo... i don't really know whether a record of that can be used as evidence, as its too easily doctored. Just open them in notepad and you casn add words where you want. And as for saying get the cheapest possible postage... unless he specifically said "don't bother insuring it" then you don't have a case and you should refund his money, and then claim your losses back through the post office. If he did tell you not to insure it.... well then thats a different matter entirely and he's not got anyone to blame but himself. But like i said, i don't know whether a recorded msn convo could be classed as evidence.
  2. As far as i'm aware, its your responsibility as a seller to make sure it gets to him. If he were to take it to a small claims court he'd win hands down. If you didn't want this situation you'd have sent it with an insured delivery, it only costs a little bit more and the likelyhood of the royal mail paying you £30 for an uninsured item is slim, to put it mildly. The only thing you can do really is give him his money back, then claim for the money for your lost item. But claims can take up to 3 months.
  3. Thats all very well and good but i think the target audience for this product has been misviewed slightly. The average person will be fine with a £20-30 headset, which will usually last them a long time. If you want a reliable headset at that price with a bit of bling the echo ones cater for your needs sufficiently, and some FSA ones can be puchased in multiple anodised colours. Most of the people who spend more on a headset do it because they want the best, whether thats looks, warranty, performance or brand name. I think chris king headsets generally have that "feel" to them that people associate with being the best, and if someones looking to spend that much money on a headset, they'll be able to push the extra £10 or so to pick up a king rather than a tensile one. I think the tensile would have been much better if it had been aimed at around the £40-45 mark. Maybe the price could have been kept in the middle section between rock bottom prices and top quality branding by losing out on what seems slightly unnecessary, like the carbon top cap for instance, and the Ti bolt. I reckon if it had them as normal aluminium ones and a lower price more people would buy it due to the fact its cheaper whilst not being "quite as lightweight". Theres also the fact that the carbon top cap isn't designed for use with the high end onza stock forks (smart guys etc) due to the internal threads and narrow internal steerer diameter. I just think that this might have missed the niche price range that would make it a much more appealing investment. Especially when its main selling point is the hardened steel components and the ceramic bearings... something i don't personally think justifies a £40 price hike on what seems to be an otherwise standard FSA/Cane creek style headset.
  4. Ha ha, well at least theres a reason Pauly your sidehops were crazy... i don't get how your back tyre was able to grip with only like 3 bits of tread on a wall That pic i got of you landing a sidehop has over 3/4 of your rear tyre off the wall... and yet you held it easily I'll upload them all when i get back tomorrow
  5. So you got back alright then. Because of everyone farting around in that little bit with the stone block and gravel outside the fancy resteraunt we were 5 minutes late for the train. Had a good day though... well... a great day. Didn't get my sidehop gap done but ah well... its an excuse to go back again. I don't get why people come to me for help with fixing bikes though
  6. To be fair, i know more than most people do about computers and i don't have a clue what my admin password is.

    Boink

Ha ha, i actually laughed out loud.... you remind me of myself at times
  8. Guess i'm the only one who puts off buying anything till i can find a strong, suitable part second hand for next to nothing
  9. If these joypads don't pick up any remote functionality with my new grind then i'll be needing a set, as these joypads are bordering on being dangerous to use at the minute.
  10. You do know you can switch the mounts round to let you run the calipers slightly further out don't you? I was running evo mounts, cnc backings and brand new plazzies with a 38mm ronnie rim without any problems at all and i had loads of room to set it up with.
  11. Yeah you guys best come along, it'll be a right laugh. Theres a cetain gap that i want to do as a sidehop at some point
  12. Watch kiss of the dragon. Its got Jet Li in it and its set in paris but theirs some amazing fights in it, like where Li fights the twins and where he walks into a room full of black belts having a karate lesson and promptly
  13. I know a guy called larry. He jokes all the time and laughs like a goon at anything really, so yeah i'd say he's happy. Untill you throw up in his shoes while he's asleep at a house party and forget to tell him when he wakes up and promptly puts them on :$.... A more suitable saying would be "larrys as angry as f**k!"... Larrys get very angry indeed Never make a larry angry
  14. No he didn't at all. He rolling bunnyhopped onto the back wheel on the edge of the box then threw himself forwards with no pedal kick whatsoever and with what also looks like the brake being fully locked on. Its a bmx, theres no pedal hopping in that gear.
  15. I had a couple of these a while back. They kept coming through from random companies and banks etc for a week and a half. Must have had 10 or so emails from them. I sent the a snotty e-mail back by copy and pasting the same message into a reply from each address, telling them i'm not that stupid and they should go and get a real job. Day after that i got a reply from them with all this crap about how I should watch my language etc before i got reported to the police for threatening them Never had an e-mail from them after that.
  16. Looks alright i guess. I don't know if i'd pay £65 for it though. In my past two frames i've had two mid price (£15-20) sealed headsets and neither have broken. £65 seems so much to spend on some fancy bearings that i'm sure a lot of people don't need.
  17. It wasn't a pedalhop frontflip, it was done on a bmx.

    Bikes

If you do, let me know in what ways its different. I'm looking at making the same switch on my t-rex (from 110x7 to 130x15).
  19. Its a hard one, because its purely preferential. You can have a go on other peoples bikes and see how theirs feels but because its an entirely different bike its not really something that you can compare directly against your own. Maybe ask friends to swap stems with you mid-ride so you can try them out as its a relatively easy process to swap tems over. Your generally going to have to go with what feels most comfortable to you though.
  20. Your style is very strange indeed. I don't know why but its good, i like it. Keep it up dude, i can't even begin to think how you'll be riding in like a years time.
  21. Hasn't it been there fr a while? Its not anything too bad i guess, and unfortunately the banner might pay tv.isg quite a modest sum to have it there. Its not like the parents are going to be able to say anything though... i mean, if the kid wanted to see porn the amount of pages is hardly so limited and secretive that he'd have to result to going onto a video site just to see a porno banner. As for the kids being subjected to it, maybe just upload vids to a couple of places, like megaupload and tv.isg. Then people can choose whether they wan't to access a site with prono banners or not. Doesn't seem like theres a lot we can do really.
  22. Hmmm, this is quite interesting. Seems theres quite a few different opinions on the matter. I personally use a 2.5 maxxis high roller on the rear, and a 2.3 tioga factory DH front on the front. I hadn't really thought of a larger front tyre having more bounce in taps and things.
  23. Casino Royal, great film, now available as an aXXo release
  24. Push your feet forwards at the same time as pulling on the bars. Helps a lot!
