  1. They are indeed. Neither are longer than the others, zoo pads fit into the heatsink backings just fine.
  2. SHIT IS FUNNY INNIT SLEEEGGGGGGG!!! EVRYONE SHOULD BE NICE AND NOT BE LOOSERS BECOZ US TGS NOOBS CAN'T TAKE CRITICISM BECAUSE WE'RE GIRLS IN GIRLS JEANS!!!!!!! ROFL, LOL, ROFLMAOYGDSOAB! [/The Circus]
  3. Discs are available from the manufacturers though, and some come with the re-format software on a seperate partition. Admittedly its not great, but if your buying a half decent computer from a respectable company it will come with the actual windows disc. Having the disc included doesn't make them better machines though. The hardware is just standard hardware really though, its not specially designed. The operating system runs on my custom built pc tower exactly the same as it is doing on a mac, save for a few exceptions and thats mostly driver related stuff like my soundcard not being designed for macs. Even on a mac its not silky smooth, it can and does hang. No operating system is perfect, yet. As far as i was aware OSX doesn't have a serial number on the installation disc, so you can't just install from any old disc and use the serial thats keyed to your machine like you can with a windows one. Ergo, you HAVE to have a disc.
  4. Yeah it works, cleaning your teeth with sandpaper works but its still a STUPID way of doing it. Not having another graphics core, circuitry and dedicated cooling system is lighter than having 2 and would undoubtedly be cheaper. They're just cashing in on the idiots who look at it like they'd have just had the standard slower chipset, but then apple stuck another one in so they can have a super fast one if they want. The more technically minded person questions why they don't just reduce the clocks of the faster one for 2d work, hardly a tricky job... i mean, i've done it to mine and i don't have a dedicated R&D department.
  5. I reinstalled my audio codecs and drivers, it really wasn't alright. Must be a problem at your end during encoding.
  6. I think you need to re-install your audio codec, that was distorted to f**k. There were glimpses of this new age emo music in there somewhere but the rest was broken. Maybe re-upload when its fixed? Riding was okay. P.S. is this the guy that shit on someone's frame?
  7. Did you read what i said? Apple seem to be the only ones i can recall that have done it in such a messed up way I'm using OSX on my pc tower, all i can say is they're both proving to be running about the same in comparison to each other, both for speed, stability etc. So your saying that everyone who makes a computer tower puts their own branded (admittedly the vista ones are usually just a logo change to dell, etc) software on it? Including macs I have OSX running on my pc tower with vista and linux. That beats it
  8. Ah ha ha, thats one of the funniest and most unusual things i've heard all week. Have you tried changing the wireless channel? If the car is causing interference then changing the channel the router is broadcasting on should give you a possible channel that works even with the car there. If you have i don't know what to suggest. Cover the car in tin foil to bounce the signals off. If its a black car just get some stealth paint and it won't even show up on radar, let alone interfere with the router.

    Why Me?

Its definitely not the forks. I've been running them for ages and I'm a lot heavier than you look. I also bunnyhop tap/hook, which puts a lot of force on them. You have made sure the stem/bar bolts are done up evenly haven't you?
  10. Ha ha, chill out kid, its only the internetz.
  11. Made me giggle despite being a bit harsh. Dunno why i'm up, slept earlier so have a bit of energy to drain i guess.
  12. http://www.techspot.com/review/9-alienware...a-m9700-laptop/ http://www.widowpc.com/2006/02/sli_laptop.php And seeing as those are pretty old, i thought i'd get one from someone apple always get compared to. http://www.dell.com/content/products/produ...;l=en&s=dhs And its not really dual graphics in the true sense of the phrase. Its two chips, which is a very bizarre work around to just lowering the graphics clocks when in 2d and 3d modes. Hardly something to shout about.
  13. You'd need the power of gender swapping as well though, on its own time travel wouldn't help at all Episode 5 is pretty good, vortex man was cool. Reveals a bit of a major plot twist as well
  14. Yeah its absolutely fine, aside from the X11 thing (i don't even know what it does ) I know its not mac hardware, but the regenerated error message constantly cycling was definitely an OS problem, not a hardware one. Once i'd gotten over the major hurdles like the screen resolution and no support for the creative soundcard its been bright as a button. Now when my pc starts up i can choose to have it in vista or OSX, which is great. My dads getting me a newer version of quark too and a big old postscript font stash. Now i just need lightroom for the mac too and i'll be loving it.
  15. Yes, spotlight is ridiculously fast, especially compared to the thing in windows vista that searches some random stuff and doesn't always find things. Is there a specific reason apple don't try and take on the gaming market? I know loads of examples of times when games unexpectedly quit out or a display driver causes a restart etc. If apple could keep the stability idea running and allowed for easy interchanging of graphics cards then i'm sure that would be the best solution. Now i have the choice, i keep wanting to use vista, purely because it does more. I reckon if the mac was able to do the whole gaming malarky i'd probably switch to this OS full time as the stability idea seems pretty good. Don't forget i'm comparing vista and OSX, i don't use XP anymore. The file system navigation is pretty similar, they both have exactly the same "features" (read as gimmicks) they both perform the same speed wise. it literally is just a change in styles. The OSX stuff seems slightly more minimalistic, as vista icons have been redesigned to be pretty HUGE and the menu bars are bigger etc. I tried applying some filters to the same massive image files (few hundred mb per image) and they're running literally exactly the same speed. Same versions of photoshop, same files, same filters, same hardware. They seemed to be within a second of each other or less (my stopwatch being clicked isn't 100% accurate ) EDIT: Stability on the mac isn't fantastic either. I've crashed the colorsync utility and ultimately the activity monitor as well, which resulted in a pretty hefty system hang and me waiting for a spinning colour wheel to take a hike before i could do anything again. Clicking on X11 in the utilities folder also resulted in a crash and a continuous error message popping up every 20 seconds. An error message f**k off and keeps making itself the dominant running program causing me to type in intervals. Gonna have to restart to fix it.
  16. In a completely opposite scenario my friend bought a graphics card not so long ago that 2 weeks later was reduced in price. He emailed them and they refunded the difference for him. I've no idea how he got away with being so cheeky but they were fine with it. I've also had a faulty component from them and i had a brand new replacement sat with me less than a week later (old one had to be checked by them etc first).
  17. Ha ha, i think thats definately the most pointless thing i've seen on it so far. I've got photoshop installed now, and to be honest it seems to run slightly slower, though this could be down to me having OSX and photoshop on an old IDE hard drive rather than my fancy SATA high cache one that i have vista on. The microsoft messenger is nice and uncluttered which is pretty nice. The dock is pretty handy too. I'm starting to see though that there really is no differences between them really, they both run at the same speeds, both have the same functions. I think it really is coming down to a difference of visual features.
  18. Ha ha, that was actually quite funny. Is there any specific things that i can do with OSX that i can't in windows? I feel like i've gone to all this trouble and have been rewarded with a childs toy, full of bouncing icons and different colours. Or am i getting this wrong and have to wait a certain amount of time before i realise how i couldn't have lived without it?
  19. Okay, i've been sat here with it for a while and i'm lost for things to do. I don't know if its because i'm used to windows i'd usually be faffing around with things in it but i'm sat here at the computer just... bored. What do you mac users do to keep you interested?
  20. I've only got photoshop for windows anyway. Had a look in some boot file and changed the graphics options in there. Now i just have to try and figure out how to get the thing loading without needing the install disk in at startup. I reckon i might have to delete the XP partition. EDIT: Got the screen resolution problem fixed, and now it boots up to OSX from the boot menu during startup. Looking good so far, now i just need to get sound working. Might try disabling the soundcard in bios and see if it recognises onboard rather than my x-fi. EDIT 2: Got audio working now through the onboard audio. Seems alright, system is stable and quick with no major problems aside from the @" issue.
  21. Screen resolution is stuck a size too low for my tft, no sound hardware detected, and the @ and " are the wrong way round. Everything else is up and running though, ethernet adapter works, graphics card is functioning. Just need to sort out some problems with the boot sequence too. Might just try iatkos version 4.0 rather than 2.0
  22. This is me posting from OSX, thing works a treat. Sweet times
  23. That wasn't what i said, i said get two laptops of EQUAL price, one a mac and one a pc. Then compare them. I have a g4 at my parents house, just i never used it so its in the attic. I'm looking at installing OSX on my pc and dual booting. I don't mind OSX at all, it has its merits i agree, but at the same time i'm not going to splash out more money for another machine just to run a different OS. Shall have to keep everyone informed of how project wintosh goes.
  24. If its 32 bit XP the patch only allows windows to see that theres 4gb, it doesn't actually use it. A windows based 32 bit OS can't allocate prcesses to more than 3.something gigs of RAM. 64bit is limited to somewhere in the region of 128GB. If its a music pc get a half decent processor, dual core or something, 4gb of ram, a large hard drive (RAID 2x500gb or 1x1TB) and an average graphics card. Then to top it off, something like this
