  1. I think it could do. It could also mean Red and Black as the lever is red and black, or rubbish bicycle. I dont actually know, just making a humored guess.
  2. I use bare metal stays. The best way to get rid of chainslap noise is using a walkman/ headphone combination. Gets rids of reaky cranks, squeaky brakes, chavs in cars shouting abuse, pinch flat noises and all sorts.
  3. Its a Really Big lever like they used to use on railway junction boxes. Its also an aftermarket magura HS33 lever made by (i think) an Eastern European company, designed for trials, with a smaller piston for more power and better modulation, using carbon fibre and metal.
  4. Ive had double walls in the past and found them too wide. Nice shape though. Ive run Easton Monkey lites (carbon risers) for about 3 years, and they are so much stiffer and lighter. They havent broken either. They have a lifetime warranty. Amazing bars I think. Put some metal bar plugs in them and they are fine.
  5. I had a 97 trek 8000. My mates dad used to make us bashrings. Then a 98 Kona Caldera 14" (it was the shit back then.) I then had 2 pashleys. One in White then a Silver one and now an Echo ES3 which is slowly falling apart. Time for a new bike i think.
  6. Id say hooks. 5 years of bumps on the same pashley forks (still staight and in one piece) tells me that its not bumps. I cant hook either. Interestingly though, the P bones i had on my Kona caldera were prime suspect for it cracking. I learnt taps on the Kona with the Pbones on and after a year or so the Kona crackedjust behind the headtube on the downtube. I put this down to Pbones being stiff and aluminium and the Knoa being a steel XC frame.
  7. Nice vid. Loved the soundtrack. Sonic Youth are my favourite band.
  8. Ive been tapping for years now. I find that to go to back wheel, you have to pedal slightly later than to go to 2 wheels so the bike hits the wall when your front foot is about to put the power through the pedal on the strong foot. Then throw the arms up. Tyre pressure makes little difference. You wont break your forks doing this at all. Just aim just below the top of the wall. More speed does help with the bigger steps, and it doesnt work so well below about 26".
  9. Not thinking of any time soon. Its a bit far to go. Also Porth Cawl and Southerndown are just up the road. So to make the effort to go to Wales would be waste if I were to stop at Cardiff and not ride those places.
  10. Temple of Peace and Health is opposite the Welsh college of Music and drama. In that bit with The National Assembly building. Its just some big ledges and some gaps from some steps. There is also a steep handrail you can roll down from a head high ledge, but it was always too scary for me.
  11. Does anyone ride Cardiff at all. I used to live there about 3 years ago and there was only me and a guy called Ed that rode. I used to like the Temple of Peace and Health (Temple of Doom) just for the novelty value of riding soemwhere known as The Temple of Doom. The police station looked good too, except that its a police station.
  12. Does anyone use these on the rear? If so how many grinds do you think they can take. Ive had one for while and the grind has worn smooth. The sidewalls seem way thinner than a 521. Its ona lightweight wheel set that I built for woodland riding only so strength wasnt a priority. Many thanks in advance Steve
