hmmmm not strictly true, ultimates are quite expensive, although the recent price drop does make them far more in reach for the average rider, its debateable whether maguras are the best rim brake either, i personally think they are naff pieces of cheese, others cherish them in your pros and cons you dont justify you reasons- saying, there a v brake, means nothing as there are several reasons why a v brake is better than a magura, again others will disagree, then saying maguras being expensive-well 100quid for a pair of brakes doesnt sound bad to me? even though they do need another 50 or so spent on them to get them trials worthy(new pads, booster, possibly new mounts too...) its more than likely you have no real experience with v brakes and are judging by others opinions, or from the 100quid bike you got from argos with the cheapest plastic v brakes known to man...seems to be a common reason as to why people dont like them thats more down to the ceramic rim lee if you faf with the speed dial on your lever you can get some modulation i found the other day somebody had faffed with the speed dial on my ultimate lever to make it easier to modulate, and the brake felt really cool in a weird way

he said strong ben monty rims suck, unless they have released a new rim im not aware of? they come in 36h too, and imo are the best rear mod rim out grinds well and is strong

Can You Use A Hs33 Lever On A Hs11 Brake?
CurtisRider replied to KONA_MAN_THE_RESURECTION's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
hs11 uses a different sized fitting into the lever to the hs33, so you will need a new hose end too -
ive got one, its pretty fun:) tailwhips are welllll easy and so are spins, i got further than a 540-thats good for me its well worth a go, altho its never actually helped me on the trails

i already have a gigs worth of ram, i dont know how much my motherboard can handle? as for more money towards a screen, i think 350 will be enough? i dont see the point in spending much more than that anyway

hello all im needing a bit of help deciding what computer to go for, im not very in touch with computers, i know the basics but thats it really currently i have a 5 year 1.6ghz pc, with gig ram and 160gig hd-shes getting pretty slow and last year i had the hardrive and the processor burnout i dont use my pc for games, cos well, thats what a playstation is for so im not fussed on having superb graphic handling shit, i just want something i can play dvds and stuff on, also editing videos too-so if i need anything extra to make them look thier best, then let me know i mainly use my pc for the internet, i want to use it as a tv (im looking into a decent tft screen-but i know what im looking for there), i play music on it, and i watch films on it im hopefully getting a new camera soon, so i want something thats happy with playing with large sized files, as ive found mine struggles a little storage wise i have alot of photos, music and videos on it, so far my harddrive has well over 100gigs of stuff, and i want to keep it all-will my hardrive be compatible with a new machine? or will i have to copy everyhting from my old 1 to a new 1? soooooo basically after reading all of that you should be able to have a rough idea of what i need, i dont really want to go and buy something with loads of features i wont use, it just needs to be fast enough to handle those kinds of applications really-dont forget the internet, tv/dvd, limewire etc need to be able to operate at the same time! as ive found mine cant handle doing just internet and limewire.... ive got around the 600 mark to spend on just the tower, is that enough? i dont want to spend all of that if i dont need to, so please keep that in consideration. i guess i will have to do a custom build, my friend can out it together for me, so thats cool i have probably missed something useful here, so sorry if i have any help would be much appreciated, cheers paul

assuming by same setup you mean grind, 4 bolts and pads? grinds will always lead to a squeak in my experience, luckily my rear brake only squeaks when you go backwards however my front grind squeaks like feck as for lack of power, probably just a poor setup? or maybe those pads/the rim are contaminated?

No Specific Place For This So I Put It Here...
CurtisRider replied to MadManMike's topic in Chit Chat
its alrite, the beggining doesnt really make me want to dance, but its listenable the end sounds pretty cool, but its all a little samey? i think all i wanted to hear was something with a heavier and harder beat, but it never happened maybe i just dont get it, its not my usual music of choice so dont get offended -
How Much Is My T-bird Worth?
CurtisRider replied to trial-biker-ryan's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
ermmm standard spec? any upgrades? if its standard, prob about 50quid-maybe 80 if its in real good condition, if its upgraded, well it depends if you have shoved a whole loada decent parts on -
just calliper, bolts and rotor you need a cable, outer, and a lever to make it work and of course disc mounts on your forks and hub
-
probably the best advice ive heard in this topic v brakes rock
-
kmc make a 8speed version of the kool, probably the strongest chain for gears that you will find sram do some decent offerings, but you are looking at spending 20quid or more rohlhoff also do a 8speed trials chain, no idea on if they are any good, but may be worth looking into

Has Trials Started Taking Over You Life
CurtisRider replied to montyrider's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
riding used to be pretty much everything to me, not just actually riding but having a laugh with all the other riders too, just bloody good fun. ive made it clear to any previous lasses ive been out with that i ride bikes, and so i cant spend all my free time with them-cos i wanna ride too, which they eventually got fed up with that was back when i was at high school/sixth form now im 19, its died down, riding is less important to me, bikes are still a huge part of my life, as i do bike repairs and make parts for people, but its not what it used to be, other things are more important like friends, family, work and stuff like that i can understand why people get a little to obsessed with biking, cos i was, and it does totally rock, but now i look back i wish i hadnt wasted so much time on them, missed out on so much else i guess if it makes you happy then ride as much as you can, just dont let it get in the way of things that really count-like getting an education, having friends, relationships blah blah blah -
pig steel is just mild steel pete stop talking out of your arse 4130 is pretty darn good, sure it hasnt got as good a properties as say t45 or the reynolds series of tubing, buts its still very solid and strong as for the frame, get it gusseted and welded-should last a wee while longer
-
onza t master wheels, say no more unless yours has 20inch rims front and rear, then ermmmm well, onza probably so something good enough
-
the knife-heartbeats tuuuuuune
-
v brakes for pure bite-my ultimate is frickin superb disc brakes if you like to have some modulation-my juicy is pretty damn nice (having pad troubles now though) for all round performance and value i would say a bb7, feckin awesome brakes for no money
-
overtightening would more than likely strip the threads with those crappy levers if you dont like that lever, get an rb one? or try an older lever(04 or earlier)
-
i dunno, what about biff? im pretty sure you have to suck at least 1 senior members cock to get validated, well thats what george 'mahoooosive todger' seamons told me as he pushed my head down....

its a small crack?
