Stock Frame, Horizontal Dropouts, Tensioners, Chris King ClassicCurtisRider replied to Trialsrider87's topic in Trials Chat definately, my bulb on my jump bike feels so nice, far better than my old king! anyway a king with funbolts would be a better idea on horizontal dropouts, its more secure than a quick release system

Whats the advantages of an 11" Ta26 over the T rex? ive never found clearence to be a problem on my base, if you are really into sidehops and stuff, it may hinder you (remeber if you run a seat you lose even more room) I use to ride a DDG Shooter, some recomended a Ta26 to me cos theyre pretty similar. not really......shooters are shit, bases arent itll be a huge jump from a shooter to a t rex as the t rex is really long in comparison, so i guess people were getting at it wont be such a jump if you get a base Whats the wheel base on a Ta26? its something like 1040 isnt it? dependant on fork choice, but yeah around that-mines 1040 with fattys apparently I've always mixed a bit or a street feel into my trials riding so would the Ta26 be a better option? yeah for sure, base will be easier to manual and spin, and its a tad lighter i believe, they feel great for most types of riding, really universal-they still are loads of fun on the rocks How does it handle on the back wheel? super short back end, makes it really easy to handle, it feels real nice, a longer frame will be easier to balance on, but only a tiny amount hope thats a little help

moi and radical rider may be able to pop down, after visiting hunstanton on a camping trip with friends, i really wanna ride the natural, looks uber fun!!! the street however from what i saw was pretty dull:( but meh naturals cool with me

	thats quite a bump

several hundred pigs count? got loadsa cats, all fat grumpy bastards, feckin awesome

if you want a set of wide rims, get an alex dx32 rear, and a dm24 front, damn solid combo, and will last longer than any of these crappy half metre wide things they make now alternatively be a man and buy some mavic rims, d521 rear(ex721 now) and a x517 front for no weight at all/ d521 if you are a beefcake/ d321(ex729) if you run a disc
-
not quite the older yellow ones have a shorter disc mount, thats prone to cracking/ripping off when running a decent disc brake (think avid bb7...) in general, i think fattys will last for a huge chunk of your trials riding life, im real happy with mine, except for they are pretty short and i think a slightly longer fork like an echo pure would suit me better for my riding

Eno Freewheel Or Profile Mini Cassette HubCurtisRider replied to coolbeen's topic in Beginners Trials Chat yeah i said you HAVE TO BUY a new hub didnt i? read again, and you will notice that i said you could buy a new hub and an eno, for less than the price of a profile.....that was purely a suggestion for the people whinging how you werent upgrading your rear hub at the same time if you get an eno, unlike with a profile if you read the second part i also said how a standard cup and cone hub should be fine..... learn to f**king read

ive run both the ea50s and ea70s, both fantastic bars, and you cant go wrong for strength, price and looks, but they are overshadowed by one bar in terms of feel............azonic double walls-they feel too nice ive gone back to azonics, and im riding so much better, they just seem to suit me so well-im on a 1040wb base and i seem to be doing the same sorta riding as what you wanan do, streety stuff, with traditional trials mixed in the only trouble with aznoics as you already probably know, is the old strength issue-but alot of people seem to have had theirs ages with no problems, its just a risk you gotta take for the best feeling riser around if you wanna get eastons, you wont regret it, they are good bars, and certainly dont feel shit another bar i quite liked was the raceface diabolous bar-felt pretty nifty on my bike, but my front end wasnt high enough with them (1.5 rise), thats why i got 2.5 rise dws

Eno Freewheel Or Profile Mini Cassette HubCurtisRider replied to coolbeen's topic in Beginners Trials Chat but you could still afford to buy an eno and a new t master hub (fookin ace hubs and cheap) and have change from the cost of going to a profile........ also how good does a fixed rear hub really have to be? even a cup and cone cheapo one will last a fair old while, the other advantage to an eno, is if you do somehow mess it up, its pretty easy to get hold of a cheap freewheel as a replacement stand in (a tenner gets you an acs claw? seems fine to me) and you can keep riding your bike until its fixed, whereas with a profile you are stuck unless you have another cassette hub just kickin around plus you are more likely it seems, to wreck a profile than an eno

im running a thompson post-they are worth every penny, silly light, amazingly strong and have a really low profile clamp so your seat doesnt stick up any higher than it needs to i like them so much that im running them on all my bikes as for seats, theres some pretty nice ti railed, carbon bodied racer seats out now, and they are pretty affordable! around the 30quid mark on ebay will get you a real nice seat! ive got one of these in black on my xc bike and one of these on my trials bike both are fantastic, i really like the san marco one, its dead comfy probably the best seat, if you can afford it, is the selle slr, look wicked, and are top seats dont forget your seat clamp!
-
maybe ive been unlucky, but i had 2 of those allen key skewer things, and they just snapped maybe i got a little strong
-
ive had 2, 1 on my mod, f**kin excellent and the other is on my stock, even better superb freewheels, rather have them than a king
-
well theres nothing supporting the hollow section, but ive never had any troubles with my hope xc, dmr revolver or onza mod hubs theres a few people who do it on here, im sure they will let you know of any troubles if they have had any
-
wow somebody listens to me yeah its a good idea to vary your riding, its helped everybody i know whos tried it so keep your mod for trials, and perhaps try gettin a nice 24inch jump/street bike? nice and small and chuckable, so it wont feel too strange coming from your mod? there are some fantastic little bikes out there now, for such little money-take a look around
-
its fine, ive done it before if you have a hope hub, they will do it for you but then, its piss easy to do it yourself.....

New Wheel. Recommended Rim For Discs?CurtisRider replied to spode@thinkbikes's topic in Trials Chat for a wide rim, snappels suggestion is good alex make the best wide rims out i think anyway, seeing you wont run a rim brake, what about one of these:suuuuper being a mavic you know its gonna be super strong, i ran one on the front of my curtis, and it was excellent also d521s still exist but under a new name
-
such nice handling bars, pity they do have a habit of breaking, im running them atm, but i will probably replace them regularly to save myself
-
Disc Performance 20"/26" (or 24" Even Come To Think)CurtisRider replied to Alun Goch's topic in Trials Chat wills right, my first mini was f**kin superb, best brake ive ever owned, but my second one had nothing on it...both same size, same pads, same rotors....weird! seems to be luck of the draw with some brakes
-
i ran truvative hussefelt bars on my mod, and they felt fanf**kingtastic felt far better than monty bars, but on a stock they dont feel quite as nice....worth a try though at only 20quid
-
Eno Freewheel Or Profile Mini Cassette HubCurtisRider replied to coolbeen's topic in Beginners Trials Chat another vote for an eno, as mark as already said they are cheaper than profiles, yet are better too! sure you wont look as cool without your anosided lime profile, but at least you will have 72 reliable engagement points and wont have to replace the driver bearings (seem to die pretty quickly on profiles) i loved my eno on my mod and i love my eno even more on my stock, i replaced my king with it, cos the eno just feels so much better!
-
hey dude, just noticed you live in peterborough, fancy coming down to ipswich/norwich way for a ride?
-
ha ha thats what i thought anyways, no trouble running a rear on the front, may be a bit of a squeeze with your front brake though if its a rim brake personally i wouldnt bother, just buy a real rim like a mavic 321 (ex721 now-disc only) and ur front end will be light, strong and look cool
-
hang on, he rides stock? why does he need a 2.5 on the front.....
-
super short back end, its very agile, and whippy, its not uber short like a leeson and curtis-its around a 1040 wheelbase-making it a real good all rounder they just feel frickin nice i think, and for the price, they are hard to beat
