-
its cos pythons are ming, try a nice mod by monty or something alternatively get a real bike, 24s, and 26 rock
-
fanny im far superior to hp
-
for once mat is right, they grip superbly, i didnt realise how bad my other shoes were! my new orchids even feel grippy on those cheap plastic shite pedals you get on el cheapo bikes
-
run the red maggy slaves on the back when you get the c2 working, will make it look a tad better, spray the forks black toooo
-
bunnyhopping is better, get one of these
-
its for a pair, so thats half the price per lever, still not cheap, but they are the best feeling levers out-well for cable brakes, nothing beats the juciy levers for hydro and scratches? who cares (they dont scratch easily at all anyway) as long as it keeps performing is what matters

Trek Bruiser Trials Conversion
CurtisRider replied to richminiturbo's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
itll be ok as a starter, but the geo is set up for a 100mm fork, so the bb will be quite low maybe try some longer rigids (trailblades, charge, identity) to keep the bb up and the general feel of the bike good if you have got it, you may as well use it, then save for a decent frame once you have killed this one alternatively, if this one is in good condtion you could be lookin at about 40-60quid for it secondhand, so maybe sell it and put some more pennies into something a little better for trials? perhaps a secondhand zebdi, base or echo you can pick up some nice trials frame son here from 60-100 thatll last good while, and be a totally different league ride wise to the bruiser -
the jury fork is the same as the px knifen fork and all the other names it has (its a generic jobby) fecking stong forks, but weigh more than yo' mumma
-
difference being ultimates are in a totally different league? far superior build quality, a great feeling shape....also a poor comparision really seeing as ones hydro, the others cable i guess yeah magura levers are a tad pricey, but you havent really got much else choice? rb levers are 60-70 odd and still dont really justify thier high price...and there arent any other levers about thatll work its weird how the hs33 levers are so pricey in comparison to the disc levers, not just magura ones, but all other makes-shimano seem to be the best for great value(decent build and decent looking) levers ranging from 20-25quid for a decent lever and they dont seem to piss oil everywher either
-
i dont get it...we havent ridden any rocks? argh!
-
curtis forks are dog poo anyway charge make straight blade forks, but i think they are a bit long, i believe identity made a new trials fork to replace the tuning fork-maybe worth a look? ive seen leeson forks with disc mounts, but you are looking at least the 100quid mark for them it seems
-
ultimates dont, and if kept in good condition other cheaper v brakes wont either (much anyway), its only cheap/worn/poorly maintained vs that rattle like feck
-
i havnt touched my v brake in about a month now, not even just to adjust for pad wear-so you must of been doing something wrong ben

blow you nose and wait like everyone else had to, be it a week or a year, its worth it, this forums very handy just keep posting decent stuff as simon said, you seem to be able to type proper stuff rather than txt tlk -
he feckin knows it maguras suck
-
and its had 2 careful owners hasnt it mat surprised its still going after having a bloody great chunk cut out of it ive only ever cracked a full sus frame, but it was shit so i guess that doesnt count
-
get somebody to lathe you 1 up? nice steel axle pretty sure edd potts made 1 for somebody
-
no he didnt he either ran them at 80mm(theres a u turn knob that allows you to run between 80 and 125mm of sus) or he had the internals fiddled to bring the sus down a little more as for running sus on the 24, as ive already said to lee, hes used to riding 26 mtb with sus, so just maybe the 24 with sus would suit him better as it'll feel like a more normal setup to him, certainly with the kinda places we ride, front suspension would be no hinderance although whenever we find something we could just steal my old stinky off nath couldn't we lee? anywho chap, great idea from me if you do decide to buy a 24, run it with the rigids, see how it goes, borrow some of my spare bombers, see how they feel and then you can see what suits you best poifect

i made this twas great fun i didnt want to be one of the boring bastards doing the same old shit, be creative, make something thats actually fun and you ill want to keep afterwards...admitadely this is in pieces on a shelf in my workshop now, but i can still build it up quickly and go use it it even has a rear disc mount uber fun!

--> QUOTE(danny B @ Mar 13 2006, 06:15 PM) ←nah i meant the grade of carbon is expensive that we use and it depends on what the forks look like for the other comment.... any chance of havin a weblink/number of a supplier, as i would quite like some carbon tubing for a project of mine
-
took me all of an hour? and i did it properly
-
i got bored and drilled out my atomlab rim, i like it, its made a real difference to the front end, my bikes getting stupidly light now i dotn care if it doesnt last long, but so far it hasnt showed any signs of wanting to buckle or collapse get yaself a holesaw, measure out and punch where you want each hole to be, and then get a drill and drill it tidy up with a file and you done
