Ah wicked, cheers Adam. I think I over worry about this stuff I am rebuilding my rear brakes next week and will use some of that decent brake fluid anyway (the blue ATE stuff) so my brakes should be as good as they can be. Everything else on my car seems to be working pretty well as it's pretty much all new underneath! Just need the back end aligned as it didn't get done at the last place I went to

We had an opening evening so I set up the Rc car stuff alongside the 3D printer so parents could see what we were up to, had massive gatherings around my table and some very annoyed colleagues who were getting far less attention This picture doesn't show the 3d printed cars unfortunately I'm working on my own fully 3D printed car as well as the kids doing there own too, they will be Mardave style and i'm also looking at doing a nitro version as we got donated an engine complete with electric start. The plan is to make something totally small and ridiculously quick!

£60 each sounds awesome. Apart from the usual roadworthyness checks what do you guys do pre and post track day? I assume things like oil will ideally want changing after?
-
After Christmas is good for me too, hopefully have Megasquirt by then I'll still be the slowest though
-
I'd be up for a track day, I have some rubbish tyres I want to use up
-
That sucks, the same thing happened to my parents A4 and the cambelt has split halfway in 3 places! Fortunately mum turned it off in what have must of been the fastest reaction time ever! Saved having the head rebuilt anyway...

I'm going to get the popcorn ready

Well the fuel is pumped through your injectors and therefore crap can build up inside and block the nozzles, you need to pump cleaning fluid through the nozzles to flush any poop out of the injectors inlet, you will need to pulse the injectors or at least just have them open to do this though. Simply whacking them in the ultrasonic cleaner without doing this may help but not always.
-
Yeah thats the stuff I used, seemed to do my injectors a world of good! Thought about using a cheap washer pump and different sized tubes to backwash the injectors dan? Should get any larger bits put then and be more thorough Replaced my fuel lines... They basically fell apart when I wiggled them. I knew they had corrosion but didn't realise the section that goes over the subframe was totally shot! The car passed its MOT 3 weeks ago so I thought they were safe, but wanted to do them anyway, thank feck I did... I have the stuff to rebuild the rear drums now, so that's high on my priority list as i've never had them apart...one of the last parts I haven't touched!

Get the £30 one from Maplins, its fine. Ideally you need to be able to pump cleaner through the injector to really clean it and then test its flow and spray pattern to ensure its all groovy but every little helps
-
Thats nothing, my 924 injectors made the watery shizzle black within about 10 seconds, they were FILTHY!

Cutting steel fuel pipes... How do I do it safely? Obviously not with the grinder! I was thinking about snipping them with some tin snips or similar to get them accessible then using an old copper pipe cutter to make the proper cuts. I'm fitting rubber hose where my steel pipes are corroded as I took a peak the other day and got worried!

Those do look rather nice, would it be totally gay to run them with regular belts though? I just don't want/need a harmess
-
Literally anything Tom, we seem to murder servos quickly so they are always handy!
-
YES YES YES, the smaller cars are ideal for racing indoors over the winter
-
Rebush the front arms, they probably won't be far from needing them if they don't already. Without seeing the car it is hard to say what is definitely up but if its wheel shaking its either something with some slack or something up with your wheels/tyres-could try switching front to rear and see if anything changes? This means very little unfortunately, you may be lucky but my guess is the quality of materials wont be up to standards at that price
-
Write a full list of exactly what you have changed/had set up, hard to remember what you have done
-
100% sure there is nothing wrong with your tyres?

I've been meaning to post in here since last time, I have been running an RC car club for the past year at school (self funded) and have been trying to evolve it a bit this year into something a bit more interesting. Currently using my own cars and building parts on the 3D Printer I contacted HPI Racing and they have donated 3 cars, an E-Firestorm, Nitro RS4 Drift and a Trophy 3.5 buggy-Pretty generous! hoping to get funding from the school now that the clubs more popular although I doubt they will I have also been printing some cars from thingyverse, nearly all the parts are done ready for assembly, this is what they should look like: Botmobile 1/18 pan racer And a Buster buggy I'd like to try the open buggy and 1/10 rally car soon too, i'll see how these go first! If anybody has any old parts (literally any old bits that we can use/modify) that they would like to donate then that would be awesome, i'd happily pay postage/collect if you aren't far from Nottingham/Burton

Crikey, amazing you got out of it so well. Hope the stiff neck doesn't have any repercussions
-
Bloody hell George, effort much? Got a job for you if you have half a moment after work, I'll give you a shout soon

Found a Ford breaker nearby who are really cheap, woop! This means I can go measure up the fuel rails+injectors and get the best suited one for my engine and also get an EDIS setup so I can manage the spark too. I'm hoping to aquire all of the parts I need by January, then I can get fitting it all whilst I have the use of another car for 6 weeks. If all fails i'll whack the old setup back on as I'll make it plug and play

That would be super
