Anybody had any experience with these? You drive on like a normal ramp but with all 4 wheels. The front pivots whilst you use a trolley jack to lift up the back to the same height. Once the heights right you put axle stands underneath and hey presto, decent access under the whole car link here for more details http://www.carlift-ramp-mr1.com/ Seems just the ticket for me as I can't afford proper ramps nor do i have enough roof height and these look easy and cheap enough to build myself. Would save so much time jacking up the car in the workshop! I also need some new ramps as i can't get my car up mine, even with the bumper off the space is super tight.....

You forgot to remove the reflectors?

I've been hunting for a replacement car too, can't seem to find anything I like Mainly because I have to comprimise and get a hatch (I'm a saloon/estate person), as me and my girlfriend are looking at buying the car together and she dislikes driving a saloon. The only thing that ticks most boxes is an Audi A3 (06-08 sort of age)... and I really dont want one of them because it means getting a dull as chuff low mileage standard one/still dull as chuff high mileage s line with the potential budget. Quite tempted to just settle for a cheaper car that's just mine, fancy a retro these days....

What do you consider cheapish for insurance? E36 or B5 A4 sound ideal (had both, and really liked them), both can be had dirty cheap if you hunt about and that may make up for the higher insurance. Neither are different as such though, but then if it's a short term car then does it really matter hugely? Older Saab 93s and 95s are filthy cheap since Saab died and so you get rather alot for your money, might be worth a look although I don't know a great deal about those as I have never had one, avoid the 9-3ss with your budget as parts are pricey and reliability isn't great. My insurance is pretty low with my 9-3ss (£580 with myself, my girlfriend and my parents on it) so you may be suprised with qoutes you get as they are such grandad cars Landy exhaust needs another hanger along its length, even though its just a tube and no box it will still wobble about loads! Do you take it offroad? If so does it catch?

Anything? Really?

That looks bang tidy, whats the spec then?

It's worth noting that they arent compatible with apple devices, i had to keep my old android phone just so I could still use the dongle thing. There are wifi code readers that work with apple apparently and are £20 posted from HK

This has been my favourite bike, not just because its awesome fun but also because I built the frame in one evening when I was bored

Why don't you just replace the seals? I have a set of door seals you can have, feck know if they are any good, have to ask George as he used the car last
-
Can I get one? Didn't think I would be able to seeing as my job doesn't have anything to do with cars and i'm not qualified in any way Looking forward to seeing your Scirocco on the road, have been following your thread on RR

Wallets now £100 lighter after getting raped by Halfords, needed a battery for tomorrow and they are the only people open in the evenings. Car does start bloody well now though, old battery was knackered! 4 year warranty on the battery, shame the cars gonna be broken this summer
-
Cars got a flat battery, eurgh! I noticed the car had been a little slower to turn than usual the past month but it was working so thought no more of it. Quite likely I need a new battery as 9-3s are reknowned for killing them within a few years, this managed 2.5 years!

Ah fair enough, was only trying to help

Checked to see water isnt getting into your cabin? Quite often cars get leaves built up near the firewall and water cant escape as the drain hole gets blocked. I can't remember how the leons engine bay looks off the the top of my head anymore, but its well worth checking and may very well be the cause! My parents Audi had about 4-5 litres of water backed up and it was just about getting into the cabin...they didnt even notice the sloshing sound
-
Awesome, really enjoyed that

Oh I thought you built the bikes, not just turned the bars round after removing it from a box I thought ti was a legal requirement for bikes to come with reflectors and bells when they leave the shop?
-
How do you work in all that mess? And why on earth are you putting those nasty plastic spoke protectors on? They are only necessary if a spastic sets up the rear mech wrongly and looks gash in a matter of seconds... Nice builds other than that

Me and george seamons had cheap tuning boxes (mine was in my a4 1.9 90bhp, his was toledo 1.9 110bhp), they work, but I dont think its really 30bhp gain, more like 15 ish. Engines sounded more agricultural after a few thousand miles and neither lasted very long either... think george got 20k out of the toledo (then it dropped a valve) and I got 15k out of my audi (flumes of black smoke regardless of the engine revs, rapidly reducing power). There are other reasons why the engines could have died of course, but I doubt those boxes really helped much, maps are better. Oh and yeah, they are just a 30p resistor from maplins in a pretty case with plugs, you just need to solder the resistor inline with one of the wires and you have saved £29.70 on a box

Ha ha, taken your time to notice mate And yeah dropper posts are lazy, and expensive. I think the expensive part is what makes them so essential...
-
Its a quick way to adjust seat height without stopping basically
-
Yeah I need to figure that out on mine, as it would hit my BB. I'm sure I can make some sort of wedge to go in the seatube that goes in through the BB area. I have a CF 27.2 seat post with a use plastic shim, so my seatpost slips up and down a treat which is ideal for this setup! Looking forward to trying this out
-
That's ace! I had been wondering about making a dropper post and thought about those office chairs that have the lever but figured they would all be too large! Had never thought about using a car strut Nice one!
-
Prawn that thing is mental! The battle scars just add to the cool factor, nice one!

No worries, still worth double checking with the supplier on ebay/Milltek themselves, just email them your reg and ask if it's compatible.
