  1. Premium Lites with a spider and Mission steel bash, about 5 or 6 years old now I think! I ran them on my GHZ and they were great. Can't shorten the chain anymore as thats as far up as the tensioner allows me, unless It can be tweaked a bit inside.... I remember once making one so it tensioned upwards which allowed for a short chain, so I may play about! Any recomendation on a stem/bar to raise the front up then, preferably on the lower budget end of the spectrum? Currently on an 80x17 stem and 38mm rise bars
  2. Well it is built up! Weight isn't too bad considering the steel frame/forks/cranks... adding up the weights of each part it has come out as 25lbs, I can lose rather alot by swapping to lighter cranks (currently 1400G for cranks, bb, spider and bash) I haven't been able to ride it yet due to having some sort of virus that has knocked me out for the past few days, however it did feel like I need a longer/higher front end for me to feel comfortable on it (hence the bars being forward to see what difference it made). I want to run the front cable through the steerer (hence the flexy noodle) and fit on my Fred Salmon booster once its been painted. I also need to build the front wheel as this one belongs to another bike, then grind the rims!

It's a funky idea and I would like one, however it is also pointless!
  4. 20/21T 4 bolt rings aren't very common and the chain often catches on the mounting tabs, as well as them being awfully expensive! Best off sticking with 22T until you can upgrade your cranks to something capable of taking a smaller sprocket
  5. Track day looked awesome lads! Wish I could afford to do something like that
  6. Or perhaps your wheelbuild was rubbish?
  7. What are you dragging the trailer with Adam? Mx5s do look tempting, shame I don't have the spare pennies yet!
  8. Got the frame inside so the paint can harden properly (far too cold out in the shed). Really happy with the finish, amazing what an £8 gravity fed gun and some cheap tractor paint can do! Hopefully these pics show the colour better than before... Premium lite cranks with a 5 arm spider and mission steel bash. Hoping to get on the lathe and make a 1 piece setup to save some weight as this is pretty hefty!
  9. I have the original Pashley badge which will certainly go back on and little 26MHZ/TV decals, which I may chuck on. I would quite like a Reynolds sticker too, but I think I should keep the bike clean and simple+ if I do go welding horizontals on it and give it a fresh coat of paint, then I don't want to waste the genuine decals! Rear wheel is built up (Sun Big Mammoth on a Bulb) and 3 piece cranks (Premium Lite) have been found and fitted. I have a choice of 2 front rims, a Sun Big Mammoth or a Mavic XC rim (I think it my be an F519, but it looks a little slimmer than I remember them being), and then I can get the front wheel built up. I need to find decent rear tyre, the Schwalbe I have is 2.5 and FAR to big for the chainstays! I have a few old Tiogas which will have to do for now...pinches ahoy Back in Nottingham on Sunday, so the bike will get built up next week, really excited!
  10. At what point do you guys consider somebody fat? Is it a bit of a beer belly, or are we talking cankle stage?
  11. The idea was to build this on a budget, so I have just used whatever paint I had kicking about as I can't afford to be buying any, especially when I had some to use up. I had the choice of Massey red, Lamborghini white, Ford blue, JCB grey, black, some sort of candy red, massey silver and a lighter metallic silver. I figured that I hadn't had a grey bike yet so went with that! When I do the dropouts I can give it a fresh spray, not exactly as if it takes much time
  12. I need a long time to write down how many LEDs i've got
  13. I will, just waiting for some companies to get back to me about my bumper and possibly some aero skirts too
  14. Top coat, it's darker than the photo suggests, the flash makes it seem quite light!
  15. I have a few boosters to try Completely stripped the frame and forks today, fixed the v brake mount and resprayed them. Didn't whack on the horizontal mounts as I really couldn't be bothered, i'll do it next time i'm back if I fancy it
  16. I'm still confused why you dont just lift the shell up and pull the engine from the bottom?
  17. Yeah I get that issue too... though mines ABS
  18. You need to find somebody who welds aluminium, however personally I wouldn't run a repaired wheel
  19. What wheels are they? Might be cheaper/easier to just find one secondhand on ebay if its common
  20. I'm going back home for a week, so when I come back we can sort something
  21. I can't find the original torrent file to give you, its pretty limited in what you can do (not full on tech 2). I'll have another play this week and see if it can do that, but I doubt it! Agreed. There are some interesting cars on here that we don't see enough of, it's be cool to see whats going on with them
  22. It's not my fault George was desperate to get rid of an engine for less than its worth? He wanted rid quickly, I bought it, you wanted an engine, you bought it, simple? I'm not sure how that relates to what I originally said anyway. My car isn't broken, I found out why it had thrown a fault and it was all stemming from when my rather new battery failed and that had produced a fault code that prevented my glow plugs from engaging. I got my torrent version of tech 2 on it, tested shizzle and cleared the codes, it starts perfectly again and has been running super sweet apart from that My engine seems to be the only diesel that doesn't chuck soot MOT guys are always impressed
  23. The trouble is any other posts get lost in his seemingly endless posts of nonsense, or he comes along and just slates anybody elses car cos its not his A3/whatever he owns at the time, therefore it must be shite. Due to this there is very little point posting on here about our cars or for help anymore as it just becomes a bitch fest. It's a shame as this was a great thread before he came back.
  24. Eurgh, this thread is just pages of the same old car. Why can't we just have some other cars on here that are actually interesting?
  25. Looks like a tidier job than my overnight frame building attempt I really like how skinny the tubes are, it almost looks fragile but maybe because its so much longer than the steel frames im used to seeing and thats why the tubes look so skinny
