As a rule....don't buy anything made by goodmans, alba or bush. Its all shite, thats why theyre cheap ;) Something like this would be good.

Bet your gangs well 'ard you smelly chavs. joke

Erm...05 lever and 04 slaves = 05 brake. There's no difference to the slaves in the 2005 upgrade. So stop talking bollocks :)

For the £50, you get the caliper and rotor (and all bolts etc.). You will then need a cable lever (same ones as v-brakes, e.g. Shimano XTR). This doesnt need to be brilliant, and cheap avid ones can be picked up for around a tenner or maybe even less. You then need some brake cable and your ready to go. I'd recommend, if youve got the money, a shimano XTR lever from Chainreactioncycles.com and some oddysey slic cable from alansbmx.com Noz.

Thanks danny. I've got the circlip off, just need to get the b*****d brass washer off now :-

If your after allen key bolts and dont want to thread the axle you could always get a allen key skewer. Same as a quick release but with 5mm bolts on either end, so its the same basically, but they dont screw directly into the hub. They sell them in my LBS for about £3 each. I'm happy with Qrs though really, but i might get a allen key skewer on the rear some time so its held in there more tightly. In fact.... http://www.cyclesurgery.com/ProductDetails...tegoryID/120/v/ ta da.

Thanks for the help.. erm before i saw all this i sawed the lever blade and brass barrel off, so now im just stuck with the long bolt in there... How does this thing come off? Looking on hopetech.com it seems i have to take the master cylinder apart? http://www.hopetech.com/technical/images/mini_lever_exp.gif Thanks. Noz.

I'd go for 18:12 so you get good clearance. The new echo cranks are good, i bought some for my mod, very solid and much better than the older echo's. Get an 18t cog from tartys (onza, echo, whatever, theyre all the same...) and get the profile with a 12t cog on the driver B) sorted. It is a hell of a lot of money though, id look at getting a 2nd hand profile hub/wheel. Then again i think the same about most parts, and everything on my bike is 2nd hand :ermm: . Profiles are the dogs dangleys compared to freewheels B) and literally take about 5 minutes to clean and service....i just used thin castrol oil in it and it worked a charm with no skips. Also very strong and smooth - has got 4 bearing cartridgess in the driver, 2 in hub shell.

Yeah sounds good to me, although i did like the outdoor stuff the last 2 years. Also where will people with weekend tickets stay? :)

Avid discs are total crap when theyre brand new, then when they bed in theyr awesome. Just keep riding it, it'll get better in a few rides. To speed it up try chucking water on it and ride around doing short, hard stops.

I use hsbc - right track into study account, with solo card. Not bad, cant complain..good online banking services and most places accept solo.

Yeah ive done that (Y) lol. Erm...is the grub screw meant to come all the way out? I unscrewed it and its reached a 'stiff' point. I tried unscrewing it more and it just rounded off...
-
I need to replace the lever blade on my hope mini. I unscrewed the reach screw all the way out but the levers just not coming off...i dont get how im supposed to remove it? Can anyone help? Cheers.

I wouldnt threadlock it. I use carbon grease on BBs and just do it up tight as fook. Bolt the BB tool down onto the BB and twist it till your arm bleeds, then it shouldnt come loose
-
I wouldnt bother...i dont notice any difference between 170s and 175s...or 165s really to be honest. Just ride, stop worrying about length of cranks

Yeah thats what im aiming for really. What does materials engineering involve? I'm fine with some maths... but im no good at things like sin, cos etc. graphs and remembering and rearranging massive equations...
-
I use 22:19 and it feels good. I used to think it was too easy but ive got used to it now. Find it easier for static gaps and taps, but i cant really do rolling gaps anymore as if i get much speed i cant pick up the bike with the cranks. 22:18 should be fine really? just take some getting used to. I went from a mod to a stock aswell, about a month or 2 ago.

Thanks for your help! If i go to that company ill put your name on (Y)

How did you enter to do this and do you know where i can get some more information? And what results did you get in your a levels to enter? Cheers (Y)

Hmm, i have now been looking at oceonography and it looks more suitable for me to be honest. I wanna do something ill enjoy and i dont enjoy maths.......... thanks for your help anyway people
-
I'm not a lover of maths to be honest, you make some good points. The engineering education scheme thing i did was quite interesting though, and it looks like a good career... thats the main reason i want to choose it as a degree. Other than that, im stumped as to what to choose to study :P

I'm taking physics, geography and ict at a2 level at the moment. I got B - geog, C - ICT, D - Phy, and D - Bio at AS, but im doing retakes to try and get them all up to Bs/As. I put loughborough on my UCAs form (online) but the engineering with foundation year didnt come up as an option :P strange. Why do you think i'd struggle? And partz are you trying to do a foundation engineering?
-
Why cant mavic made a wide rim brake rim :P i love them, so tough and ace braking surface. ALEX rims are good aswell though.
-
Where do they sell these d321s? never knew they made quite a wide mavic rim
-
Didnt really like that at all, mainly because of the music. I absolutely hate heavy rock in trials videos, especially when its not really 'put together' with the video, so its just some massive stuff with music that doesnt really match.... Very good riding though, some very impressive gaps :P The quality was poor aswell.
