Haha, a likely story...

That won't work. Sounds like you have got enough force now if you are snapping the chain. Bunch the chain up into a 'triangle' and sit that against the vice jaws, that will stop it from snapping.
-
Nice one Ok, you actually need quite a lot of fittings... 2x #2 2x #3 4x #5 4x #6 4x #9 4x #10 (Pretty sure that's right but my brain is frazzled and I'm in a rush - have a look t the video below to confirm) This video should help: http://www.hopegb.com/page_mep_force_36.html - I've not watched it for a while, but from memory you just need to strip ~6-8mm of plastic outer from the hose to get the olives over
-
Not keen on holding onto a dildo though personally. Mine last maybe 12-18 months, only change them cos they get a bit slippy (Trialtech - but can wash them anyway).
-
What EXACTLY are you trying to attach to what? Is it a complete brake's worth of bits you need? Which slaves do you have? (M6/M6, M6/M8?)
-
£60 each? True - however once you start taking payments that's it, the admin involved in refunding ~100 payments if you don't reach the 'target' would be a bit daft, and you'd like like a tit. Seems like others may be keen to try the same sort of event anyway (and of course Radfest later this year), which is awesome - my advice would be to allocate a lot longer than you think you need, double your estimated budget (although somewhere like Barrow Farm would help a LOT with this, as most of the riding kit and infrastructure is already there), and only work with people you 100% trust to get it right when they are doing stuff on your behalf (before anyone jumps to conclusions, Matt worked his arse off for 2 weeks before the event so that is not a comment aimed at him!!!). Come to think of it, Barrow Farm is pretty much an ideal venue and I would have loved the chance to hold this event there, I would have done if the chat I had with Mick at the start of this year didn't reveal he wouldn't let us use the venue (as explained above - fair point). With that said, I think Radfest should be awesome providing there is enough 'chill time'

I understand. I don't think there's enough space at Bracken for camping and cars for ~150 people - fair bit of other camping close by though probably. Quite possibly, but I would have thought people would be camping/caravanning/motorhoming elsewhere between the two/three days - half the fun seems to come from blowing stuff up and getting lashed which is fair enough! You could to an extent, I guess. But it would eat into parking space which is limited already. Head is working overtime now... I guess something a bit like the Clean ride *could* work at Bracken, basically just a coincidence that a load of people turn up at the same place at the same time to ride, without it being connected to anyone in particular. Couldn't build any ramps etc though. That would just be a group ride though. Meh. See how we feel in 6 months, hah.
-
Handing over the camping to a 3rd party and pre-booking only would certainly remove some of the headaches we faced this time, yes. Although, pre-booking had it's own headaches - a properly run 'pay on the day' system would be better from experience, we were let down pretty badly in that respect. Breaking even isn't a possibility with an event like this, unless you try and charge people what I would class as an unfair amount.

Yes. Thought about there, discounted it on the grounds of: Insurance, toilets, showers, parking, still have to build obstacles. Tech 04 worked well I thought but it was a smaller event.

I'll start a thread now then, I'm sure everyone will be jumping to the front of the queue to throw away £10k! Sorry, weird mood today Something like this seems very easy to run, but it's far from it. Outside sponsorship - not attractive enough.
-
Quick tot up, £10k - unless you can find a whole team (6-8) of very reliable and organised people who can work for a week or so for free, in which case maybe £6-7k. Mick wants to remain impartial, and not be seen to 'be in bed with' any one company/brand, which is fair play.
-
That was the idea... Considered that, Barrow Farm is out of the question and there is nowhere else suitable (in my opinion).

Bleed from the bottom up, with oil and a syringe. Take top cap off lever (T7 I think) to let fluid pour out, then re-fit cap. It's the 'wrong' lever for the slave cylinders but you should be able to make it work.

Nice of Echo to tell us that... and send other dealer's orders weeks before ours, despite us being the first to order these new parts (less than an hour after the price list came out). But that's another story for another day

Had a chat with Matt this morning - neither of us are keen to run a Tarty Days 2012, so I'm pretty sure 2011 will be the last one. I would be happy to explain for those interested, but haven't got time right now. Thanks to those who attended and enjoyed themselves both this year and last year. I will possibly look into running some sort of similar, non-competitive event next year, but a lot of things will need to change to make it viable.

People have been asking this a lot so here goes. We will NOT be taking orders down to the event for people. We've probably had 20 requests already, and taking so much stuff wouldn't be possible in terms of space, and it would be likely that something was forgotten. So, the best way is not to take anything so nobody is disappointed. Sorry! Spares: I will have 20", 24" and 26" inner tubes, some Z610 HX chains and some rubber grips. Prices: £5 for two tubes, £10 for a chain, £5 for a pair of grips. No change will be available. I won't be able to help you fit any items you buy. No exceptions! If you need to buy anything please come and find me, there won't be a 'shop' manned over the weekend, everything will be locked away. Sorry to set such 'hard' rules but this event was always designed to be a relaxing weekend rather than an extension of being at work, it's erring dangerously towards being the latter and I need to halt it. Any questions just ask!

I should think not - I would just go ahead dude! Great idea

Double fail: Poor quality photo, and not B&W Tee looks sweet though!
