If you have the Old Skool '99 XTR cranks, they are the best. The Leeson Rockring does away with the spider, and replaces it altogether, like the new middleburns. Boy, I would love a set of those cranks

Ha, I find this quite amusing. Most people in this topic simply want to test the pads because they will get them for free, and claim that Rimjam sponser them. "Ive got a smooth rim, give me pads" If it was up to me(and it isnt in any way shape or form) The pads should go to 3 riders. 1 UCI/comp rider 1 Street/General trials rider 1 BMX style or 24" rider (you know the kind, Manualing, spinning everywhere) That way you will know what compiunds are good for what. Instead of 10 or so random "give me free stuff" riders who will probly just love them to make you feel good, or dont ride enough/hard enough to give them to good thrashing they will need as a tested product. But then thats you choise. For the record, I had no problems what so ever with the backings of the pad. I put a set of Rimjam Blues on at NASS. They Lasted 20 minutes (yes I checked the time) before wearing 1/2 way, the overheating, going black and crumbling away. Thats why I have beef with said product.

Sorry to sound like a narsasistic Git. But I think I might be your biggest Critic. Having tried your pads 1st hand, and, sorry to say, Hating them, within 20 minutes of putting them on. Thats another story. Fair play to you in making them and all, hopefully these new pads/backings will work out for you. If your finding they are more succesfull, please let me know and I will withdraw my hatred for your product. But as you say, your not having much luck with ground rims. Not trying to put you down, a Little constructive critasism never hurt anyone

Why does everyone see this as a bad move? The main reason its being held as the NEC is because they are celibrating their 10th aniversary. They are planning it to be a speacial event. There WILL be camping, as they already have prices up for Weekend tickets. I dout they will be sliing weekend tickets, without somewhere to stay. And the 1st 1000 ticket holders get accest to the speacial VIP after party on the friday :) I think this should be a good event, shold be less chavs, and more fun for all. Sure its more of a travel for some, and less for others, but dont see it as being another bikeshow. The bikeshow has nothing on NASS.

Your having a Girrafe arnet you? Turst in the Hynes Book of lies? They have you take the boot lid off to do such a job. I need to know what car it is, and Ill let you know what sort of a Job it is. If its a rover, well, headgaskets need changing on them more than your pants get changed. If its been run with no water, and has been allowed to over heat, then the Head WILL be warped, and will require Crack testing and a Skimm if its ok. Rover heads are made of Alloy, and they are very weak. You will also need to replace the thermostat, Engine Oil and Fliter, Rover Recamend that you replace all the coolant hoses, as Oil contamination will ruin them. But you may be able to get away with simply cleaning them. You will also have to replace the Cam belt, and have the engint setup (timing) Would be a smart move to have the colling system flushed, and remove the water pump and clean it. Depending on how bad the Gasket has gone, and wher, you may need to remove the sump, and clean it out (last one I did I had to do this) Not a quick job by any means. And its very involced. I would personly say £300 is cheap for such a task. Now, if you had a MK3/4 Escort, or an early Fiesta, you would be looking at about 10 minutes work, and about £40.
