  1. wheeler does both techniques well, and high.riding in reading with him a while back he was wheel swapping pretty big stuff.but which exactly are we talking about? from static, with the front on top of said object, then lifting to back wheel depends.26"will obviously have the longer frame advantage, but the mod is more manouverable.personally i think 26" is easier, but then again,i cant ride a mod for buggery!ask wheeler and he'll answer differently.its all down to technique, not wheel size.if you look at the pro's and con's,they tend to balance each other out. by the way wheeler agrees that its technique not wheelsize, and his mums fit Carl
  2. nah he didnt ask for it to be done,i just decided to do it i was bored with it being a shit-hole,and i know he cant have liked it either. Carl
  3. i'd split her in three and re-decorate her from the inside! Carl
  4. tales from the strip is a f**king amazing album!although i preffer the self titled one.also, theres 2 L.A.Guns bands about at the moment.one that has Tracii, another founding member,Tracii's son,and someone else, and the other,is the L.A.Guns we've come to know and love another mint album at the moment is Vain..im listening to that alot too... Carl
  5. sorry im not helping on the topic in hand...but that was priceless!i just laughed so much i dropped my keyboard!classic. Carl
  6. its better to regret the things you've done, than the things you never did.thats why im not bothered about what i get, anything i like at that precise time goes on me,maybe a week later i'll think "why the hell did i get that?" but then i normally have a beer and a ciggie and its all fine.i forget what ive got half the time.i recently noticed that Oogie Boogie (nightmare before xmas) goes into my armpit.i sort of stretched infront of my mirror and yawned, and when i opened my eyes i noticed him...honestly forgot he was there! Carl
  7. flavours of the week for me music wise are: L.A. Guns - tales from the strip,Love/Hate - Blackout in the red room,T-rex - Buick Mackane (my fav t-rex song!),Hardcore superstar - dirty sneakers and pina coladas, and my band Pistol Kixx - All that glitters[doesn't always shine] cos im trying to work out where my vocals need to be higher other than that, film would be Day of the dead, food would be shepeards pie (with baked beans) and drink,as always,is J.D. (straight, its a flavoured whisky...) oh,and my nan,cos shes giving me ciggies every other day,and cooking me food whilst i do my living room Carl
  8. cheers man at some point i'll post up exactly what im doing.all my ideas for it etc,or as best as i can by writing it out just finished ripping all the skirting board off.the thing i forgot was,it may look like one big room...but its actually two seperate rooms with a big archway thingy linking them up...D'OH!ah well, time to distinguish the feed from the switch wire,if you hear a scream,it means i've been electricuted... Carl
  9. hahah,i could do it pink, although my dad would probably kick me out...then i'd be homeless hahah. mike syndrome?i get that all the time but as this will sweeten my dad up,it'll hopefully mean i dont have to pay rent for a while im gonna rip up the carpets an lay wood flooring,im gonna make a step in the floor near one wall, and put some little led lights in it.switcheless chrome sockets, chrome light swithes, spotlights where the cables are, although there will be more than 4 eventually.that room had only one light in the middle, which is why i have to re-wire it.im doing 4 spotlights in the middle and four in the corners of the room.they'll be on two switches, four inners on one,and four outers on the other.just ripping the skirting board off at the moment, gonna replace it with 6 inch skirting, which means i have to higher all the sockets!so far im on day 2... Carl
  10. right,my dads away for a week or two,so im re-doing the living room for him, which is why im always skint at the moment.i'm doing it all myself,no builders or nothing,so everything in the finished product will have been done by me i'll chuck some pictures up of how it is at the moment.as you can see from some of them, ive just started wiring the new lights in (yes its clipped to the ceiling, cos im putting a false ceiling up,so it'll be covered) and ive painted some of the walls.i'll post some pics up of the end result when its done in a week or so...hopefully. 11. hahah that tattoo's wicked! tatto's dont have to mean anything at all, other than you like them.my nightmare before xmas sleeve means shit to me,i got it cos i thought it would be cool.and my other arm so far has cherry blossoms spiraling down it,and a cartoon image of nikki sixx (from motley crue...) on my inner forearm.i just thought it would be a cool picture to have.no deep, meaningful reason, other than i decided to have it.im getting roses coming from my groin up either side of my belly button,i dont even like roses,i just think it'll be a nice idea, and im having a cartoon style leopard print belt tattoo'd round my waist, again,no meaning.im gonna get the words poison tattoo'd over the top of my stomach arched, cos i like the word poison, and my chest is gonna be something im not 100% on.i generally dont plan a tattoo,i just go and get it.i also have a star on each hand on the fleshy part between thumb and finger, fades from red to black...i was bored so i got them done for something to do.and for goodness sake,no one get their gf/wifes name tattoo'd,it destines the relationship to doom!hahah. Carl
  12. if i were you mate,i'd go for zona.better geo, nicer looks, nicer feel.better bike in general really.slightly longer, and its nicer on the back wheel.it's alot more controlable too.theres nothing wrong with onza's,theyre fine, but the zona is a better choice imo. Carl
  13. i'd have to agree with that.id rather it happen and have a little advertising on,than no advertising,no money to biketrialuk and possibly no calender. Carl
  14. www.bmezine.com for anyones whos interested in designs.everything from tribal, mauri, old skool,nu skool, skulls, dragons, traditional japanese/chinese,celtic etc.also gives the names of tattooists and locations on some of them. Also if anyones thinking of tribal/mauri work, come to oxford, and go to a place called lionels, then ask for a guy named Curly,he's the best tribal/mauri tattooist in the u.k. bit pricey though,£65 an hour, but then again, its amazing work.flawless!he's also done work on the most tatto'd guy in the world.people fly from all over the place to get work done by him, sound guy aswell. Carl
  15. i'll try get some pictures up of mine,my nightmare before x-mas sleeve is almost complete, and my right arms got a few random things, but will be sleeved soon.then my stomach, chest and back to be done also, whats with people worrying about what they put on them!?i've never put anything on mine, mainly cos my ex gf is a tattoist, and apparently you dont need to put nowt on them, its just something they say to protect their asses.she works in Newbury by the way,at Nitty Gritty tattoo parlour.her names Inga,go say hi if your near, shes well good! Carl
  16. i'm on the case.i know alot of dodgy people round oxford, and i know alot of the guys who could find it.i'll give them a call, and a quick description an see what they find. Carl
  17. anyone around oxford that likes backyard babies, theyre playing at the zodiac in oxford on nov 20th,towers of london supporting them, tickets £10 should be a wicked night! Dregan owes me a drink Carl
  18. imnot a fan of mods at all,but i have to say, thats the nicest looking mod i have ever seen, looks amazing with the green.i dont think its too much in anyway at all Carl
  19. Spacemunkee, that is one nasty lookin ankle man! by the way,my post wasnt having a dig at you, sorry if it came across that way.just merely mentioning how i thought it was a good idea Physio: i bruised my hand today,i believe its the ulnar nerve area? it's pretty painful, and very very tender, any ideas how long before its rideable again?i've put some muscle rub on it,and its eased up a little. cheers Carl
  20. im too lazy to buy isis.plus the fact ive had the same square taper bb for 5 years and its still fine.if it aint broke, dont fix it.to be honest, ive ridden bikes with isis, and it doesnt feel any different to me.just gotta keep the cranks tight with square taper, thats all. Carl
  21. i personally think its nice of someone to take time to find all the relative info, even if it is copied, and put it into one place for us to read.saves us searching for it! i wish it was on here when my knee got screwed a few years back,i ripped the crutiate (sp?) ligaments and ruptured the acl.opted not to go for surgery after spending time with a pro mx gp rider who advised against it.i just spent time building the muscle up around it,although i went for almost a year without knowing fully what to do.at least he's giving us something people can read up about. Carl
  22. i hate Zoo's with a passion,i think they look smacked out.although the blue makes it look a little more elegant,so im inclined to say, this zoo aint too bad.i think i might have some baby blue coloured cable ties if you want?ill have a look an chuck em in the post. Carl
  23. hahah,i was bein thick cheers for clearin that one up! looks pretty nice indeed.altho somewhat similar to the kenda ryan leech was runnin a few years ago? Carl
  24. is it on the kenda website?cos i cant find pics...or am i being plain thick? Carl
  25. im not 100%sure what he means by bmx parts, but i know they were streetier setups,so theyre built strong.and if i remember right, theyre quite cheap aswell, which probably has something to do with whatever is equiped on it? Carl
