Word. It's probably just down to your set-up as opposed to your components. Make sure your brake is bled correctly and doesn't go squishing all over the place. The main thing though as mission boy has said is having the pads meeting the rim square, this will also make the brake feel far more solid. Have a play with it until your happy with it

Frames that size are not designed for sitting on. Leave it that way.

Carerra fury, seriously good xc bike, and also copes with a lot of freeride stuff too. I just got one myself and its amazing to ride every time i go out on it. Really well built bikes, which also come with rock shox Tora forks (80-130 adjustable) and near enough lockout at 80mm. Pretty high end sram groupset, and a truvativ crankset. Pretty hard pushed to find something better at sub £600.
