  1. H`mmm, that's interesting Although I thought I'd save some weight using a DMR SS hub, but maybe not? Cool idea I'm just saying ACS as a general name for that type of freewheel, sorry! In fact the only reason I'm trying this is cause I read about a 72EP expensive one last night....er` ENO summit? I don't own a Hope! Just judging them from the info I read here, Bulbs break, Monos are ok. For £80 I want a bit more for my money. (yes you get cartridge bearings but who needs em` IMO?) What about that shifting....that’s gonna suck me thinks? I know this will cost more than £80 in the long run, but 72ep's without the price and hassle of a King! Yes please
  2. I need a more reliable free-wheel/engagement set-up, Kings are to expensive and Hopes just don’t seem good enough. The single speed option - screw on rear hub with ACS freewheel seemed limited as I am used to using two gears, 20 X 18 for trials and 20 X 11 for getting about. Although the toughness and engagement of these freewheels seems very attractive. SO…….I got to thinking, why not put an ACS on the front (Tensile), a fixed sprocket/screw on hub combo on the back, AND wield another smaller sprocket to the original screw on fixed sprocket and hopefully use my shifter to switch between the two? I originally thought about putting a ACS on the back with two up front but that seems worse, if not impossible! Can anyone see anything wrong in doing this, as without buying the bits, I can’t get my head round what problems I might run into? Top of my head: The space to wield another sprocket will be very limited / will it shift between gears as I won’t have shifting guides, at least not on the larger screw on sprocket / as an ACS is 18T, what gear combo would I need to get the same ratio as above (gear ratio calc seems to be down, as does my brain! ) Phew` Anything else? Thanks in advance!

Bloody Hell........that's mad! You did launch yourself off that drop, I don't think you could have put more force into it, if you tried. You got balls though....................for now!
  5. Goodluck and hope your back don't give you more grief! How was your riding/how much could you remember after not riding for so long?
  6. I find football shin pads are a good option, cheap and comfortable and most come with ankle type protection. Admittedly your trying to protect the knee....I'd go for the 661 Veggie knee wraps combined with the shin pads. Gloves- Not a big fan, but Fox and Troy Lee would be my choice for comfort and protection.
  7. Nice one, that's well funny!

  11. A real eye opener for me! As of tonight I was running 20:16, I thought it seemed a tad heavy. Gonna try a few light / (appropriate) gears, to see if it makes a difference. Although I only have 18 and 21 to choose from Cheers
  12. I just go out the door and go on an adventure! I also ride on my tod now, as when I'm with a group we just start chatting. That and the fact I had a big row with my mate So I find I learn a lot more like this although the motivation to ride alone in Winter is tough! Keep with it though, new year soon!
  13. Yeah` Same as above, I hope Santa brings you a digi camera for Xmas Glad you like trials, keep riding
  14. So I'm posting away as per usuall...looks across to find I have become a member ! Cool , but how did that happen? I thought it was a year in the wilderness and then a humiliating ritual at the very least! And why am I still posting here....later losers (PS: I'm not complaining)
  15. Grind up or down the rim as picture shows. I have not had a go myself (if only I could get my dam tyre off) but seems pretty straight forward to me! I'll let you search to see if a stone or metal grinding disc is better. Goodluck!
  16. Black and Gold, never gets old! Post some pics when done, its going to look great!
  17. Like many others, I get mine from the road. Usually pick a piece up while riding around town on Thursdays. I find a fresh liberial amount keeps the pads from sticking! I would go for a grind but I can't get the dam tyre off the rear to do it. Peace!
  18. Now I know why nobody blinked, when I cried I had hit my knee on my stem. Fair play to you guys...that's some nasty stuff! Get well soon and wear shin pads and a lid(Y)
  19. So its not how good you are at trials then? He, He, H`mmm!
  20. I'm finding squat about a ghost cog! Don't forget about `half links` either
  21. I got a Maxxis Hansventure rear from Tartys last week. 50a centre and 42a (Super Tacky) sides, I love it and it should last a fair while also! Oh` and I just dig the tread pattern
  22. People shouting, "hey mate, your seats fallen off" or kids with "dude thats a girls bike". Or the fact I can't practice anyware without someone disturbing me. Chill............!
  23. This is what I meant. Its only gonna save so much I grant you but worth a try. Like I said, find them in LBS or old bikes you see getting thrown away!
