to level out i generally move my weight forwards again, pushing the bars forwards and scooping the rear up furhter now its unweighted. like i said before dont take this as gospel, as this is what ive sort of figured out how to ride by watching loads of videos and just practising
-
fair enough if the frame is cheap enough or you really want to change go for it, maybe i'm just tight!! but hey in the end its down to you, do you need to change, can you afford to change and is it really gonna make that much of a difference to your riding? another thing its already been said that the base is quite a short frmae, great for street and spins and stuff, do you ride that sort of trials? (Y)

learn to side hop with both wheels first by just leaning your hips into the frame, shifting your weight to the same side and hopping. then just straighten everything up, once you can do this try doing it in a same way you bunnyhop i.e. lifting the front and then the rear, shifting your body to the side in the same way. once youve got that sorted and you can do pedal hops on the rear wheel with some control, try combing the weight movment that you learnt berfore with a normal pedal hop, but instead of using you preload and pedal kick to move forwads use the motion to lift the bike up moving your weight to the side and tucking the bike underneath you. i mean i've only really been riding trials properly for about 4 months, but learnt in this way and i can now hop about 2- 2 1/2 feet, which i dont think is too bad for a newbie!! if this isnt right then sorry its how i learnt and it worked for me!! cheers (Y)

have you cracked it yet? is it stopping you from progressing any further? what sort of riding do you do? i mean yes the base may be a slightly better frame than you already have but if your existing frame isnt holding you back or broken dont fix it!! keep saving until it is broken or you just get better than the bike then you'll be able to buy something better than a base. hope this helps

ebay is fine for buying anything as long as your careful. obviously check the feedback of the seller, if you can contact any previous buyers to see how they thought the service was and ask lots of questions regarding the thing you want to buy; a genuine seller will be more than happy to answer any questions where as someone a bit dodgy will either not know what there talking about or wont answer!! i bought a brand new saracen team trials bike off of ebay in the summer, is was in perfect condition, with all of the parts not assembled (peddles etc) in the sealed plastic bags they should ahve been in. The bloke i bought it off was quick and happy to answer any questions, the bike was quickly delivered and it only cost £300!! so generally ask any questions u think u need the info on even if they are obscure, especially if what your looking at is second hand, and if it looks too good to be true it usually is. if you get thte opportunity to go and see the item before bidding ends make sure u take it and pay via paypal and keep details of anything you do buy to make sure if something is wrong you may be able to sort it out. hope this helps (Y)

there were some pics in a thread about a month ago so u could search for that or the other place was in the november issue of mbuk. hope this helps (Y) guess thats the date for just the bikes any idea when the frames will be released by themselves? cheers

im not trying to buy skill, just tryin to make the learnin curve easier. if youve tried to make one snappy and failed then i wont go throwin money away and tryin. i mean ive only ha biked the for bout 3 months and having improved no end on the rear im just tryin to combine the techniques and skills i had before. i dont know the geo on tha saracen, anyone know the exact figures, cause it help me too. cheers for all the advice
-
that seems a bit of a bargain, shame ive already got some of the bits. does anyone know the price of the frame at all, because its guaranteed it will be!! ive bin lookin at the zoo! stuff but do i really need to change both the bar and stem? ive got my stem with about 1.5-2"s of stackers underneath, would i not just get away with the bars. i had a quick ride on the azonic and it fealt really weird, but id didnt mind the fact that the bars were about 6 inches wide!! just want that snappy handling back! oh well mebs its a new bike for christmas!! cheers (Y)
-
well i wouldnt say i have a pure trials style, i do a lot of taps and spins but with a mix of sidehops and 'real' trials moves!! i was thinkin bout gettin some zoo or bt risers, the bt's seem pretty narrow compared to the flat bars i have at the mo but the zoo's dont have that much rise. oh i forgot to say the azonic was 24" anyone know when the zoot is out and how much as it seems pretty spot on for what i want? yeah i do find i have to keep my weight well over the wheel to be able to get the front up for hos/taps/attempted manuals. like i said am lookin to get a 24" as im only 5'9" and i think a shorter bike would suit my style and my size cheers are there any other option apart from the curtis and leeson for 24?
-
right i used to ride an azonic evo2 set up for dirt/street, but i dont really ride it any more. i used to be able to manual and bunnyhop it like a beast. now i bought a saracen 04 team, no laughing please, tis my first trials bike. ive bin pleased with it so far, and bonus it hasnt snapped yet (touch wood). ive improved loads with side hops and stuff on the rear but i cant manual or bunnyhop it for s*:T!! is it me or is the bike geo/set-up? its got completely standard kit on it. any help with technique or bits that would make it a bit easier for the streety stuff just wanna be able to do hop ups to manuals again!! chars blad (Y)

they wont have to employ anyone to water the flowers and stuff the hobo's will do it with with carlsberg special brew!! sounds good though, nice to see the government spendin money on something worthwhile!!

so when are they shoving this great big roof over bristol then?!!! sounds pretty good. only live half an hour from bristol, never actually ridden there, scoped it out when ive bin shootin film with my mates who skate and seen some people about. but it all seems a bit above me at the mo. oh well its one way to push yourself!! i dont mind ridin in the wet i just find it a bit sketchy with my bog standard pads and tyres and was just lookin for some advice to make it a bit safer/easier. cheers everyone :P yoyoyo i just noticed your from bridgy, i live bout 10 minutes away from there but ive never seen anyone out there ridin. well apart from will, but he quit a while ago. just wondered if u could show me where u ride in bridgy or where ever u go?!! :P
-
furry muff!! shall do, just a bit sketchy doin gaps and the tyre go's or the rear brake slips!! ah well!! cheers :)

sorry bout the 'only' a d521 comment, lol. i wouldnt mind trying a grind as i might be getting a new wheelset soon anyways, so its not to bad if i fubar it up, just scares me attacking bits of my bike with a grinder!! 2.35's are what i have atm and i find that they still roll a bit with spins and so on, so i think youre right a 2.5 would be far too much. so its koxx brown/green or heatsink blues....... to grind or not to grind........ does a grind really make a huge difference? cheers for the help ^_^
-
cheers lads, i was thinkin bout some super tacky's, not too sure boutputtin a grind on my rim, its only a d521.what are the best pads for a smooth rim? if i do grind should it be harsh or light? cheers ^_^
-
ok so its raining absolutely loads outside and i wanna ride, but being new to this and having limited skills i want to know what the best tyres and brake pads are for ridin on wet slippy concrete. i've found my normal high rollers and standard magura pads to be a bit crap when they get wet or muddy. help!! cheers ^_^

the milk is just a levelboss, right?

ive only ever used two proper trials shops, tarty and select, both were really helpful with my questions and were uber quick with delivery. :P

im scared of heights too, get too the edge on the back wheel and my brain says nope, no your not!! dunno its weird i used to ride dh and had no probs ridin 15 foot drops then, its the whole bein balanced with you wheel over the edge. i guess its the hesitation before u drop.
-
i am right footed. thanks. because of the sh*t setup of my bikei find it very hard to pull onto the back wheel/manual without using a pedal stroke. could this be makin things harder?
-
right no jokes ok!!! i can straight pedal hop onto a wall roughly 18" high using 1/4 a pedal stroke and a hoike on the bars. trying anything higher ive tried straight hoppin and using half a pedal stroke, ive tried tappin my wheel on the top edge of the wall. but i just cant get the height!! can only manage to hop to bash about 3 1/2 feet. what am i doin wrong?? help oh and im ridin stock cheers for any help >_<
-
its not a bad wheel, but it is only the one!! dont know at the quality of the build either. its all well and good havin good parts but if its not put together right then it'll be ****! seriously check chain reaction or any one else u know who can build a decent wheel.
