as said forging is stronger than cnc'ing because the grain of the metal can be realigned to resist the forces that are applied to it. but you dont see it much in trials bits because of the cost of the machinery involved. and the fact that the process is a lot onger, due to most parts being forged to as nearer end shape as possible and the final bits are machined into the final shape. cnc'ing isnt quite as strong as the grain in the billet that the final peice is cut from flows in a uniform direction and the cnc mill/lathe will cut through the grain, meaning that the forces applied through the peice wll not be dealt with by the metallic grain in the same way the the forged peice will.

they would be rich but i expect the people that have them are sponsered. i doubt tey sell too many either!! £200 quid for something that will break in a second if you mess up, hmmmmmm does look pimp though.

i think that some other spots than a small warehouse would have made the vid a bit more watchable, but a different song would have made it so so much better. some good riding but a bad vid. dont think i'll be saving that one!
-
i think that a lot of the cnc parts from these chinese produced parts are bought from a generic catalogue which is whya lot of bikes look the same, what makes them different is their build quality, geometry and the materials used. dont mind all these frames lookin the same, because in the end they do the job. tis a shame someone cant break from the lon low and silver "norm" though

really spin with your shoulders and your hips, so you sort of throw your shoulders whilst looking in the direction you want to spin and really swing the rear end to follow with your hips. this is the way i do it when im dirt jumping which works for me, on my trials bike i still cant get a full 180 so i can smoothly fakie out though. get to about 160. hope this helps craig

i think the a2 has slihtly longer stays adn way less cnc bits, making it cheaper to produce e.g. doesnt have a built in brake booster and the bottom bracket yoke isnt as inticate. i think this is right?! craig

i got some heatsink blues on powerpad backings, and ive been really impressed with them, mind you i cant say ive used a wide range of pads (only normal maggy blacks!) ive only used them in the dry for a total of a bout 10 hours, but maybe im lucky, they havent had lapses in bite or modulation. when are the res gonna be available, because i mite just get some for the rear and switch the blues to the front craig

ripping those stickers off would improve its looks no end, doesnt look anythin fantastic though, nice vid craig

really sorry to get involved in a pointless argument but ive just read the whole topic because im bored, but i keep seeing a pattern that Ash is either very argumentative and picky or just has nothing better to do. seems to pick at the tiniest thing!! ah well. i thought trials forum was about sharing acheivements and interest about a sport we all enjoy?! which is what this topic is about. fair shouts to you mate i can only opposite hop about 4 pallets compared to 5 to my right side i cant do it from the rear wheel either? strange ne ways keep up the good work!

there was a virus released in the summaer that once on your pc would kill your hard drive in 8 hours, completely wiped it. nice!
-
sorry mate didnt mean to say that you were bein negative bout the parts, maybe they could do with somebody better to maintain the site!! it is a bit anoying the way the little details are missed out. well it seems that every thinks that dan is a sound chap so, will bear the site in mind when it comes to shoppin. nice to have an alternative brad of products and shop to buy from. cheers craig
-
old school rules! but where's the neon coloured shell suit to match the retro trick?
-
well JT is the first person to have anything negative to say about the site/products, has any one else had any bad experiences with them? im just trying to get an idea of weather they're a viable alternative to tarty and select bikes and a choice of another component manufacturer. craig

my first trials bike is the one i have at the moment, its a 05 saracen mad team, its served me well, i've only changed the rear tyre to a maxxis high roller and the rear pads to a set of heatsink blues. and i havent managed to crack/snap it yet!! not gonna replace it til its does snap, which from what ive heard wont be too long!!
-
would that be a bit of self praise there?!!! lol tis pretty easy to navigate and get around, so fair shouts, good job
-
cool, seems like theyve got a pretty good rep then, just was a bit unsure as i hadnt heard of them before. guess the proof is in the pudding and i'll just have to give it a go cheers craig

right came across the old trials-uk.co.uk site the other day and found loads of bits i havent really heard about before e.g. viz! bits, was gonna get some of there risers but what are they like? and how come they can offer zoo! pitbulls at £220!!!!!! any reviews or opnions on the site and ability to offer frames so cheap and the viz! stuff would be great craig

you can use grease on the cables just make sure that you wipe any grease off the the cable that is exposed as not to drag more crap into the cable outers. oh and make sure that its fine grease, not thick white grease tat you can get, i use to use pace fork grease, if you can still get it? just sounds like you need to give it a good clean out. when was the last time you replaced your inner and outer cables? if a clean up and re tension doesnt work, new cables are the way forward. craig

that guy on the koxx was goin pretty large!! those hooks were sick. i was pretty impressed with the dude on the bt, so so smooth

the avids are great brakes, loads of power and good modulation. ive used hayes mags on my dh bike which were great but had little or no modulation, pretty much on/off switches! the hope minis i used on my street/jump bike were better, more modulation and bite but didnt have the same amount of power. so didnt hold aswell after the initial bite. the avids i used were on my brothers freeride bike and seemed to bring together the good aspects of the other brakes i'd used and imrpoved on them even further. the main difference between the juicy 5's and the 7's is the tpa adjuster, which could be pretty useful for a trials rider. hope this helps? craig

not totally sure bout the exact price but its expected to be more expensive than the 360 core unit and mebs a bit more than the full system. as consoles are generally games machines, most people will go for the one with best graphical capability and the widest choice of games, the ps3 wins on both of these. craig
-
unfortunately llama boy you have been misinformed, the ps3 has 512mb's dedicated purely for the graphics card and the actual unit itself is a lot quicker. unluckily for me i work in the wonderful place that is pc world, bui have found out a few things about the 360, such as they have problems with overheating an crasing randomly; the one at work has crashed 3 times in the the last two weeks. the games do look pretty good but you wont get one till the end of january as the uk sold out within the first half hour of release, the whole of dixons group had sold out all the expected stock twice over just in pre-orders!! the ps3 is you best bet but it will be even more than the xbox 360

absolutely amazing program, but whos gonna win? james may in a crappy french car or gee atherton? the only time ive raced at the same time as gee was at cheddar, and he beat the whole of elite on a hardtail without a chain for half the course, all this on a 1 and half minute course!! should be good :S

according to the echo site and a few other shops they all seem to say that they're designed to run with a grind. the old compound zoo! pads were softer and from what ive heard didnt last too long on a grind. but the new ones are the same compound as the new echo pads from what i can make out anyways!! this is just what iv'e been able to figure out as i was lookin at the pink ones for my bike. dont think there's any difference in compound between the colours. hope this helps, correct me if im wrong people!! cheers

What Is Your Best Trick On A Bike?
craigjames replied to smurftrial's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
best trick i can do is a 180 drop to fakie out and abubaca to fakie out, not really true trials 'tricks' guess theyre more street. but hey i do em on me trials bike!! wheel swaps are a bout the coolest looking trick ive seen, that and the 360 nosepick chris ackrigg does in the earthed 3 trailer (Y) :D  :D
