  1. I think you should definately see if you can get a norco (or similar, maybe elsworth- but there also expensive, along the price of curtis) shipped over as it would suit you. you need a bike thats somewhere inbetween a Dj/street bike and a trials bike, ie an american style trials bike. other wise maybe look at some of the lighter Dj frames around, although now there going a bit bmx style the slightly older ones might suit you. Oli
  2. Sameer- i saw the guy riding the t-raptor past the library the other day, but didnt catch him to say hi, don't think he know about the trials scene. maybe we should leave a note on his bike if we see it again. hes not in the mtb club im pretty sure. I may be out this weekend, maybe sat afternoon if i get my bike built in time, maybe sunday, please pm me if your out on sunday. i will def be out next week :P Loose- you wanna come out this weekend? i will be at home friday night/sat morning getting washing done and borrowing halford's headset press, but then i will be good as soon as my bike is built. Also update your profile, namely the location field.
  3. Wrong way round ali C. Definately drive side closkwise. and if your not sure look at the bike side on and turn the top of the tool towards the front of the bike. Please turst me im a bike mechanic (Y) You may need an extra person to help hold the tool on if its stiff and stuck, and an old pair of forks is useful as extra leverage. I remember for one particularly stubborn BB at work we had one person holding the frame to stop if moving (even though it was in a stand) one person holdign the tool onto the BB, and one person levering on a ROOF BAR attached to the breakerbar that was attached to the tool lol. >_<
  4. Went on a ride with the Uni bike club today, and did a bit of downhill and some of the guys said they'd like to come along and do a bit of street riding, so should be an interesting turnout. Oli
  5. What crazy server is that video on!!! i Just downloaded it in about 30secs over my uni connection- 1800kb/s >_< (Y) Good riding too!
  6. Not at the moment, i ordered one earlier this week and got it already- luuuurvly. :$ just get yourself over to www.freshproducts.co.uk.
  7. you owuld probably only get 2 or 3 gears out of it, not the full range as a barrel adjuster doesnt pull a lot of cable. good if you have a two speed set up with a trials gear and a getting around gear.
  8. You can get aluminium tape in halfords, quite expensive though. i think its 50mm x 5m and about £5. wrinkles easily though. some christmas ribbon or somehting would be better.
  9. Tomm- theres nothign stoppping you, in fact many people have triead to copy him, but noones been anywhere near as successful, as they dont have the origonality or the press coverage. Dahnhilla- its $1 per pixel, not one pound. ($1 ~ £0.60) and he didnt sell 400,000 in 4 days- he hasnt quite reached 400,000 yet nad hes been going for a month.
  10. Im pretty sure they are not maggie black pads, as i remember when they came out some guys i rode with got some and found them ok, but with an absolutely shocking wear rate. Oli
  11. Copy and pasted from the FAQ section of his website: Its a giant intereactive billboard, with all the pictures linked to the homepage of who bought the pixels.
  12. this guy has had a crazy idea, and hell its a good one too! Lucky for him it kicked off and now he's flippin loaded. Over £100,000 in less than a month! :turned: The Million Dollar Homepage
  13. Looks like sunday will be the main day- i may go out on sat too if the weathers good, im sure at least a couple of other people will as well. Depends what im up to really, but i will definately have a bike by then :turned:
  14. Im not saying im anoyed with tarty bikes- they were really helpful - just anoyed at why its not here. I know they sent it out on tuesday by courier- so has been lost somewhere. will be chased up tomorrow. Oli
  15. cooke- its a Sony Erricson K750i the one with the dragonfly/fish/bear/eagle advert! :turned: scunny trials- yeah the more photos the better, you can always delete the crap ones. (infact, i did delete about 20 straight after i took them, and then about 10 when i put them on the computer! lol) fred- your bunnyhop whips, tables and tyre grabs are sillly - can't wait to see Dan's pics of those.
  16. yeah- they were not there this weekend so will be sent out on monday. I ordered something on tuesday and am still waiting for it- but they say theve definately sent it :turned:
  17. they were at that spot when i got there, then didnt venture too far due to intermitent rain. other places were ridden, just not captured on camera (by me anyway, possibly by someone else, im not sure).
  18. Since i didnt have a proper bike, i thought id see how good my phone camera is at action shots- and the answer is pretty damn good (for a phone) Some of them are very good, but some arent! :turned: Also the ones taken near the start are a bit blurry as i hadnt got the hang of the focus properly. There all here. Email/pm me if you want any full size pics (1600x1200) i think there 800x600ish on there at the moment. What you think? add comments to the pics on the site if you wish. Oli
  19. Cool ride today- just wish i had a proper bike. Got some nice photos though, check the thread in sites/vids/pics. Oli
  20. Dirving around a farm is very different from the road. the car control is easy shizzel, its all the crap about rules of the road and how you respond to situations and stupid things you have to do that they test you on, as well as the car control, so it ed up being much harder than you expect. Oli
  21. Also got a pro photographer mate of mine who wants to come, so he will just be doing video/photos all day B)
  22. Il be out whenever i wake up! long night ahead- Freshers ball. Will see you guys tomorrow and you can laugh at my heap-o-5hit as long as you let me have a quick ride of your bikes B) Oli
  23. Don't know what your catering services are like, bu i know ours are shite- worse than school dinners half the time - and i imagine bad diet oculd have something to do with it, along with lack of sleep youve probably been experiencing as we all do at the beggining of term! B) oli
  24. I think it will be fine if it suits your style, all the american riders run short travel forks. As long as you dont rise the front of the bike to much ( a little will be ok, due to sag) it should feel ok.
  25. If it an expenive headset might be worth borrowing a proper tool, less stress on the cups/headtube and makes it a bit quicker. Also go careful when reinstlling into new frame, a headset press is the best option, then vice is next best (with bits of wood so as not to damage things) and then sketchiest is hammer and wood. Make sure you get a good quality tool, i recomend the Race Face ISIS one form CRC, depsite description it is actually shimano pattern, but has much longer teeth and grips well, as well as having lots of options of how ot drive it, sockets, bars, spanner, 8mm allen key ect. you may need an extra person to steady the frame while you strain using an oldpair of forks for extra leverage, stuck bb's can be a bitch to get out. To remove turn clockwise on right hand side, and anti clockwise on left hand side of frame. When istalling a BB use plenty of lithium grease on the threads and snug it up good, but dont go mental. Also you will need a crank remover suitable for whatever type of cranks you have to get cranks off, other wise there very hard ot get off.
