  1. 128 is ok on mp3s, but any lower than that and its definately audiable. Oli
  2. Ok, thanks for your advise, but i will see how it goes, since pretty much everything is ordered or has already arrived now (bar rear brake and chain tensioner). Im still learning, and want to try a short frame for a while as i have a short framed jump bike which i really like (did use it for trials for a while, but BB is far to low as its designed for sus). it hasnt cost me that much money compared to the rest of the setup, so maybe i will get a new frame for next summer if i don't get on with the orange, right now im just very pissed off about having no bike after just getting back into trials and this was the best deal on a frame that came up, and matched the kind of thing i wanted. Im not saying your wrong, im just saying let me give it a go! everyone has personal preferences when it comes to bikes. Im not a tall guy, and i like to ride street, so a short frame would suit me better for manualing and bunny hops. If i don't like it, i don't like it, but my opinion of a bike will almost certainly be different to yours. Oli
  3. hehe, if im not busy will pop along on my "heap-o-5hit " as my new bike isnt finished yet.
  4. I can get what frame i like :P Plus ive liked zeros when ive ridden them in the past, and know 3 people who have had them in the past and rode damn well on them. :- Plus, its got to be better than a 2002 saracen mad!!!! , and a lot better than no bike at all, which is my current situation since the saracen got nicked. :ermm:
  5. Get a BB tool and do it yourself (if the BB is the right size from your old frame), may be a bit stiff if its been in there for a while / installed with no grease. A bike shop shoul be able to do it if you dont want to buy the tool. Or if your feeling flash, get ISIS cranks :ermm:
  6. Thanks for the confirmation james! your a star. Allowed me to order seat post and BB (N) Got pretty much everything ordered now, apart from front rim as its not in stock. may just have to borrow the wheel off my kona until CRC get them back.
  7. im about to buy some proper magura braided stuff, but it comes as a full set so i will have a spare front one, and you could use the crossover piece from it if you wanted to buy it. but yes, unex hosing doesnt seme to be very good.
  8. im getting this second hand, and it hasnt arrived yet so cant measure, but i want to place an order for various bits and need to know seat post diameter. Im sure someone must know it for some obscure reason! thanks in advance guys Edit: have found a table on orange's web page of all there old frames and sizez ect. looks like 27.2, if someone could confirm this it would be nice. But also the table says 73mm BB shell, but the guy sellign it to me said 68, so im not sure which. any one know for sure? oli
  9. Me thinks that would be a welcome addition to "The Van" Fred, Dan and Tic from salisbury, as well as the guys who were at nass would understand lol!
  10. I would say the saracen Xray. comes with a half decent alloy frame, and rigid forks. has a few too many gears, basic wheels and V brakes, but these can be upgraded later. Only £150 as well!
  11. I would, but 1) my bike got nicked so in the process of building a new one and 2) i have to go to a wedding anyway. Theres a thread in the rides/locations forum (i know you cant post there, but you can read it) so you can see who else is in soton who might want to ride, and get details for the big ride at the end of the month (Y) Oli
  12. Nice one fred, i wish you guys had told me you were out in soton on sunday, even though my bike got nicked i would still have come down to take photos/ride other peoples bikes. and only a couple of days before joel and i were riding there saying "has anyone fallen in yet?" :P Sorry fred, think i jinxed it for you!
  13. Yay! should have a bike too! Student loan through and parts in the post :- Can't wait. Also, have found a Unicyclist on my course who does mountian unicycling on his 26" and Trials on his 20", so he wants to come along too. should be interesting :P See you guys there. Oli
  14. Its jsut the low quality bushings in cheap forks. it means you get play between the stanchions (upper legs) and the lowers (lower legs). not a lot you can do, i suppos eyou could complain and try and get new forks.
  15. There the "firm tech" slave cylinders. Only fit on some magura forks, and have very limited adjustment, but are very light. Oli
  16. Still count me in if i can find another bike in time :) no other interest??
  17. I know! and really, getting them to my room is a right pain in the arse, through 5 doors and up some stairs, while going past the bar and hall managers office. :P I will prob keep my new bike in my room, depends how often i ride it. wont keep my shitty one in there though. (when i get them that is!) I now have access ot the locked cages, so it will be safer to keep them outside. couldnt get into them before as the universty was very being gay with when they were giving out the acces cards. very annoying. :) Oli
  18. never seen a megamo radical, what are they like? Oli
  19. Had a tempting offer of an orange zero with Fatty's, i remember likeing zeros last time i rode them, though posibly slightly too short, i havent riden one for ages though. any one got any htoughts on how they ride compareed to other stock bikes? i imagine a lot better than my saracen anyway! Oli
  20. Right, my trials bike got stolen last night (see stolen thread for details) and i don't think im gonna get it back, but you never know. If i can claim off insurance, should be able too, then i will hopefully have £1000 to spend, but that will be covering both bikes, so i need to take a little out of that for a run around. I am finding it very hard to choose between a stock and a 24 inch. I have ridden stock only before, all my bikes are 26 inch, and i was liking my saracen set up, so i am tempted to stick with stock. need to try someones 24" really. I am mostly riding street, so prefer a shorter frame. either looking at curtis/leeson (if i have enough) or if sticking with stock maybe the 2005 team saracen. What do you guys reccomend?
  21. :) :P  :( :( :(  Both my bikes were stolen last night!!! b*****d chavs, straight through both locks with big cutters :turned: If anyone sees em (detials in stolen thread soon) let me know Oli
  22. Thanks for ocming out tonight Joel, was a good ride and i got to know my way around a bit better. pulled osme good stuff too, impressed myself (Y) We had a pro photogropher ask if we minded him taking some pictures, so should be some good action shots. Will post the link when there up. Oli
  23. Any one around this afternoon? dont really have anything to do. Oli
  24. This thread is shocking! Stop slaggin maggies off and answer his question. the elbows should rest against the frame / fork to act like an extra booster. they should point down toward the hub, not up. just take your time and do one side at a time, setting maggies on canti studs can take a long while. work out which way round the metal clamps need to go, as you can swap them (left for right) to suit narrower/wider rims. try and get the clamps as straight (vertical) and symetrical as possible. Hope that helps, anymore Q's just ask
