Having ridden for such a long time, I've had to work on an explanation of bike trials for people who ask about the sport. It's easiest if you compare it to motorbike trials, many more people have heard of / seen that than bike trials. Great interview none the less, good luck!

Get MG1's, there's really nothing more you could want from a set of pedals. And if you get the Ti ones, they're f**king light as well. DMR's are smaller and in my opinion, less comfortable.

At my GF's house right now, we've had a massive argument-exchange of complaints. All I can say is that if you're in a similar situation, watch some Norwegians doing jumps on bikes. I've gone through at least 15 TRA vids since the beginning of the argument and I've never been so entertained. Music is good in them too.

Perhaps you were lucky. Over here, I know of nobody who is happy with his King. One of my mates just broke the HD axle for the 2nd time in a few months - he's a complete novice. Another mate of mine did the same, yet another has had endless problems with the ring drive skipping non stop and threw his hub away. And about a year ago I had a BMX King which I think had it's axle replaced 3 times and broke for the 4th time a few weeks after I sold it on, then had problems with bearings. Oh, and the best thing about warranty is that it costs a f**king bomb to get anything replaced. Not only do you have to send it to the US, but CK enter the hub value in the customs declaration so you pay loads of tax when you get it back. I'm sorry, I used to respect Chris King but this company needs to get it's act together and start making proper parts again. I have one of their hubs which has NEVER let me down - but it's at least 5 years old.

Have you tried drilling smaller holes in the holes you've made? That should save even more weight.

I think the answer is much more simple: - King hubs were made popular when there were no good freewheels around, in those times King hubs didn't skip, were of good quality and it was worth getting one. - Nowadays there are lots of good freewheels, at the same time King hubs have gotten very poor, they don't work properly and are very weak.

I recommend a search based on the title of this topic.

Why don't you just pick something you like more. The fact that X people like rim brakes won't make you make the right decision. My input: 26" wheels - rim brakes or front disc ONLY 20" wheels - rim or disc brake I used to ride DD, don't like them any more. Rim brakes are more positive, have more bite and in the case of 26" bikes - more power too. The only way you'll get more power out of a disc brake is when you use 180mm rotors on a mod.

Really liked that, much better than watching you go as big as possible. It's so much nicer when you do fairly big moves with ease.

CRX II gen. Superb suspension and handling, incredibly lightweight. Whack on some good tyres, thick ARB's and some decent coilovers and it'll be a killer.
