at first it is very hard to go away from your forward foot however once you have learnt to do this you will find it much easier to sidehop especially when going for higher stuff as your pedal wont be in the way

If you stretch to £400 you can have a brand new onza t-pro which ive heard ride nice and are a great start up bike T-PRO

to be perfectly honest i think your best option would be to scrap that monty and try to buy a full bike off here, you'll probably find that you can buy a top notch second hand trials bike for around £500-£600 when it would have cost over £1000 to build brand new. Also if you continue to build up that monty chances are you will have to spend alot for parts like wheels i.e. profile hub mucho expensivo also imo vee brakes really arent up to the job so id recommend magura HS33's

havent got them but ive seen them in action and they seemed to work well, i have a smooth rim so i think il be buying some once my echo pinks wear out

horizontal dropouts, top idea i would rush to buy one even though i dont sidehop towards me mech however the 116 spacing means it would be a mucho expensive exercise and the hub choice with that spacing comes with alot of bad comments and limited choice
