With summer upon us that’s all at an end and he’s back with a new video on his 26" Echo Pure! Norway's First Official Biketrial Competition - One of Norway’s top trials riders, Eirik Ulltang, organised the first official biketrials competition in Norway last weekend in Bjørke. 4. As I've just posted on Facebook, I was up for this but have just seen a job that I really want to apply for so will be spending most of the weekend researching and working on my application. Hope you have a good ride wherever you go! DuncyH on here might be a good person to contact

  6. Yeah, big news! I was surprised to hear it as well! No idea whether they'll be bringing out a/some competition bike(s), or whether it'll be more 'adventure' focused... I imagine probably a bit of both. I hoep so anyway, it'd be a shame if he wasn't on the circuit next season! The interview's now in English by the way Kenny Belaey - Flash interview after Biella - A flash interview with Kenny Belaey, who tells us about his victory in Biella, about his new Monty Kamel 231 and announces that in 2012 he will be riding for famous US company GT! 7. www.elmbridge.gov.uk/leisure Can't see anything about the demo though.
  8. Cheers for posting Josh! The trial map page is a bit of a trove as well! Shame there's not much variety at the moment (by which I mean they all seem to be of the same one or two sections) - looking forward to any updates though EDIT: Just watched the the opening clip of Dani Comas made me laugh out loud in the office - getting frowned at by my boss as I type... EDIT 2: This one of Laszlo Hegedus has more varied footage:
  9. Someone (I forget who, but I think it was a moto trials rider) once said "If you don't ride in the rain, you don't really ride". So get out and practice some wet weather techniques! Having said that, I often shy away from rainy rides, so I can't really talk
  10. Ben - you could maybe look at some of these?
  11. Unfortunately not. The episodes that are featured in our article on the series are all from the previous series (unless someone's found them and snuck them up on there without me noticing!). We haven't seen the latest South Africa episodes yet either!
  12. Haha - I wouldn't worry about it, Neil ends up on the floor whetever route he rides! He's usually too busy chatting away while he's riding a section to concentrate properly Just checked the results from last year and he was riding blue. I'd say enter black and then have a walk round of the sections - you can always move back down to blue if you think it's so hard that you won't enjoy it
  13. Not a video, but there a plenty of photos from last year's national at Barrow here..
  14. Hi, As Dave said, your best bet would be to come along to one of the Tyke Trial events. The next one is at Branshaw Quarry in Oakworth on the 17th July; you can enter as a day member (£3 for day membership, £10 for comp entry) as it's your first comp, and you can walk the sections before the trial to judge which category would suit you best. If you find after riding a couple of the sections that you've made the wrong choice and it is too easy or too difficult, you can move up or down a category as well, so it will be easy enough to find your level. I wouldn't worry about 'looking like an idiot' either, there is a huge range of ages, abilities and experience, from 9 years old to 'in their thirties' and from complete beginner to professional, so there'll be plenty of people riding at a similar level to you. Check out the Tyke Trial and Events pages and the Tyke Trial facebook page for more information on the club and competitions in your area, or search for Tyke Trial on Tribal Zine to see write-ups of recent competitions with pictures and results so you can get an idea of what the events are like. You can put any other questions you might have in here - hopefully some of the other club members will chip in with some advice or info - or you can email me at membership@biketrialuk.co.uk and I'll answer any questions that you have. I'm only in Sheffield as well, there are a few of us who ride here, so if you've no one to ride with just drop me a line and I'll let you know when/where we're going. Hope that helps!
  15. The 2013 World Championships in South Africa South Africa is becoming something of a mountainbike mecca. A dream location for all kinds of mountain bikers that regularly welcomes the MTB World Cup. Now, in 2013, it will also play host to the MTB and trials World Championships!
  16. The 2011 European Championship in Biella - Full results and photos form the 2011 European Championship in Biella, won by Kenny Belaey, Dani Comas, Robin Fix and Raphael Pils!
  17. I agree fully with the 'it's what you don't see that scares you'. Films like Saw aren't scary, just disgusting. A great film that had be on the edge of my seat and ready to jump out of my skin was 'El Orfanato' (The Orphanage); it's in Spanish, but well worth the extra effort for reading the subtitles.
  18. My The first official competition in Iran - collection of photos from the first official trials competition organised in the Iranian capital Tehran in February, won by Amir Mohamadi Nejad in 26" and Mehrshad Aghdaei en 20". Chris Akrigg Not if but When - Chris Akrigg, one of the most talented and creative riders to come out of the UK makes a return to his roots in this video. He shows off some incredible lines on both a trials bike and a motorbike, before a nasty fall puts and end to the fun... John Webster at the Jump Ship Contest - Some impressive footage of Rockman and Tribal Rider John Webster, Canadas No. 1 rider and the surprise success story of the 2011 World Championship, in action at a demo at a dirt contest last weekend. Kevin Liu in Vancouver - Canadian street rider Kevin Liu has just released his first full length video on his new Koxx Sky 2... filmed Vancouver, it is, as usual, excellent! The Biella Semi Final - Results and photos from the semi-final of the European Championships in Biella, dominated by Vincent Hermance and Yann Dunant in 26" and by Benito Ros and Raphael Pils in 20"!
  19. You can still have calloiuses and soft hands - in fact, thick, soft skin will hurt less than tough, hardened dry skin. I sometimes get sore hands, usually when I haven't ridden for a while (which unfortunately is more and more these dyas ). I use Climb On Bar when I do; it's a product used by climbers for when they get split or worn fingers, it soothes the pain, moisturises the skin, helps with healing if there is any damage (burst blisters or split callouses, for example) and, at the risk of sounding like a bit of a hippy, is completely natural and chemical free, which can only be a good thing. Might be worth a try? EDIT: Katy's Hand Jam is another, if dubiously named, alternative.
  20. Glad it was worth the trip Kevin! The boys rode really well too :0) The pictures are all great, thanks! I'll be putting them up on the Tykes facebook this evening and publishing the Tribal Zine report in the next couple of days. I can't make the Bob McGregor trial in August (I'd have loved to - that place looks amazing). I'm supposed to be going to Bestival in September as well, but as I haven't bought my ticket yet I may, depending on how much interest I can generate with some of the other Tykes members, cancel that and head over the border for the Phantassie round. EDIT: Actually - scratch that! Just checked the events page and it looks like Aaron was right! It's down as the 8th/9th October. There's a Tyke Trial on the 9th, so depending on which day the Phantassie trial is, I may be able to make it without changing any plans!
  21. I'm afraid I can't make it up to the Bob McGregor round aa I'll be in Germany visiting some friends. I'm supposed to be going to Bestival in September, but if I can get enough interest with some of the Tykes, I may cancel that and come up with some of them in tow for the last round at Phantassie. I'll keep you posted
  22. Thanks Jed Glad you enjoyed it! I had a great time, I'm almost glad it rained for the 2nd lap (although it would have been nice if it had stopped again for the presentations!), it made it more interesting! A huge thanks to Trialtech, Tarty Bikes/K-124, Aire Valley Cycles for the fantastic prizes that they provided, and to Barbara and the rest of the committee and all of te observers and helpers for all of their input! Next event is the 5th round of the club championship at Oakworth qQuarry on the 17th July - can't wait!
  23. Yep, you're on the list. Just received a lovely box of prizes from the guys at Trialtech, another one from Tarty Bikes, and expecting a third from Kenda soon!
  24. You media types are all the same.... no time for the little people! Only kidding - was good to meet you both as well I enjoyed the video of Steve at WC, nice work!
