Introduction: A few weeks ago i recieved a package from the norwegian dealer of northwave. After a few pics was posted in the "news" section on TF i was FRECKING exited to test this monsters Since last summer i had been riding Viz shoes... and i was pretty much pissed off and f**king tired of PLASTIC soles... First impression: I got a REALY good first impression when i opened the package and saw what was inside! The shoes did not have normal shoelaces that always come untied and get in the way, but a uniqe "snap-on-lace-system" Plug and play!! Its covered by velcro so it wont get in the freewheel etc... On the back of the shoe, there is some plaststic to protect the heel. The shoes look professional... cant be compaired to Viz, Try-All etc.... The Shoe: The rubber inder the shoe is medium hard and got a deep pattern. The rubber is thicker and harder than the Try-All shoes, witch makes the shoe last way longer! The grip is not as good as the Try-All's but livingtime makes up for the less grip.... After almost 2 weeks of riding i cant see that the shoe is worn under (Welgo magnesium pedals) The Try-All showed usage after 1 day! The shoes was a bit stiff and hard in the beginning, but now the are REALY comfy... The Snap-on-lace system work realy well. I guess everyone that had Try-All got problems with taking them of. The Avalanche shoe makes this super easy. it takes 10 seconds to take them on and off.... The shoes are supporting the ancle realy well..... they are a bit higher than try-all's. Its a good feeling that they protect the foot! The price in norway is around 1000 NOK (£85) Yes the price is a bit stiff... But i can guarantee that you will be satisfied. The shoes is WAY better than everything ive tried before. Overall: - Look! They LOOK awsome! - Protective heel - Amazing snap-on-laces - Good rubber under the shoe (medium hard, thick good pattern) - Price is a bit high (but they are still worth it) - It takes a few days before they feel comfy
