Because people are f**ktards? People still tell me I'm sidehopping the wrong way by going to my front foot, but it works for me so f**k 'em. Some people give some shitty excuse about it being easier to go to pedal, but sidehops to pedal are the worst thing in the world, ever. How come you took off off of a raised block, Aaron (video before anyone says "Where")?

You have to throw the bike around more physically over off-camber terrain, roots, rocks, on muddy banks and so on. When you dab, you sometimes have to lift the bike up and over something, which is all strength. If you go to put the power down and the wheel spins, it's strength to stop yourself bodily and correct it. If the bike slides on, say, a muddy bank or on a wet rock, it's strength to throw it back where it needs to be or just to hold on. If you look at any of the worlds top riders riding sections, you'll hear them breathing out heavily quite often just because it is physically tiring to ride them, and they're just controlling their breathing. Backhopping or just hopping constantly takes strength and stamina, and as they're the basis of ALL moves, you're wrong. Plus comps do take in different contours and so on so you actually have to pedal harder at times.

    That's incorrect.
  4. Ahoy. Might be moving there. All up in the air. Anyway, wanted to know (as it'll help decide if I do - GO PRIORITIES!) what it's like for riding, for both trials and BMX? Thanks for any help and just any info about MK itself, Mark
  5. Download tickets and then downloads which cut off mid-way through can lick my nuts. Awesome video Janson, even though I think you're a bitch for making it 'cos it makes me regret not coming down and meeting y'all at any point. Cool video though, really nice to watch.
  6. Not really - it's a lot easier to pedal-up and heft it to back wheel than front tap  Bunnyhops feel easier to do, I guess, but pedal-ups are still more consistent.
  7. I would shoot down your naivety, but if it works for you it works for you I guess

Haha, you were the one who said it was 'cos she turned up on a bike... Anyway, Rachel Burdett tried doing the original Hop Idol, but didn't get past the qualifiers, I don't think. Anyhoo, MAD sponsored her. The key point I was raising though was that she was a little on the manly side, and it was related to your post. But never mind...

Straw Dogs did it for me, read most of The Templar Revelation before that was stolen back by my brother  But just sorta stuff like that... I'm well into autobiographies though. I just kinda like the way that you can sorta learn a lot from them, plus they're usually pretty interesting anyway. Still like fiction stuff though

I know it may seem hard to believe, but there ARE (Revelation time) people OTHER than Craig Lee Scott called Craig

    Rachel Burdett, anyone?
  12. One of the things I don't get about religion as well is just that I don't need a book of rules to tell me how to live my life. Most of the rules are common sense, apart from the weird, contradictory shit like "Do not worship false idols" or however the crap they word it. Anyway, yeah, I try to make sure I don't f**k people around by murdering them, stealing their stuff, nailing their missus* or whatever. I just don't get the reliance on stuff like the Ten Commandments, which is a pretty fundamental pillar to the whole Bible (obviously the, er, "fake" version after it was translated into English). *With exceptions  Fair enough, I thought it was an NMC style "I'm shouting at you cyberly" sorta thing (Y) Utopias never will, as they rely on people being innately good, which we simply aren't (again, no matter what holy books try and tell you we could've been, although the complete bollocks in the book of Genesis is another fun thing for another fun day...). Greed is omnipresent, and as such, it's just driving everyone. The Israelis want more land, as do the Palestinians, so there's a constant tit-for-tat battle that doesn't really show any signs of ending (Even though there seemed to be a possible conclusion after Arafat popped his clogs, although that kinda fizzled out...). That's Politics/Fundamentalism for you I guess.
  13. Actually, it was 'cos they believed in the after-life, and therefore thought that by doing what they did they'd be able to get to be with Allah (can't remember the Islamic version of the idea of "heaven"). Therefore, it was a selfish act because they wanted to have a decent after-life. Note the connection between the fact they did that act because it'd get them into the after-life, then the fact that the whole 10 Commandments and basically everything in the Bible (and in nearly every holy book) is all about how to lead a good life so you'd get into Heaven. So actually, it's breeding selfishness, as opposed to altruism. Go reward schemes \o/

The difference to note is that a large amount of King's books are about different things, i.e. not just eeking out a weak story just to try and capitalise on merchandise and so on. His stories are typically unrelated, which takes more skill to write than just "Harry and that other guy from the last book went to the place they said they should" or whatever. Either way, I find King's stuff to be largely shit to, so meh. More of a non-fiction person, but thar we go.

And would Craig be bunnyhopping straight forward over a bar on a 25-30lb BMX? My sources say 'no'.
  16. They took it under God's instruction? Again, to an aetheist like me that totally undermines your arguement anyway. You might 'groan' every time me or 'someone like' me posts - I haven't said anything like that, I just said taht saying "God said it" or shit like that is the weakest form of arguement imaginable. It's like the ultimate cop-out. Ah well, we all have different beliefs I guess. Cuss me and call me a sinner or whatever the f**k you want to do. Have fun with that and your seeming persecution complex. Oh, and making your text bigger and bolder doesn't make you right, in the same way that just because there's a book written about it it doesn't mean it's true. Joy.

Burly! Yeah, I'm with Ali - I could send the T-Pro 50" up a wall, but can't do anything about about 2ft on my BMX. Did get into it and nearly got a bar-high bunnyhop last summertime, but that was about the highest I did, and I'm not really near that now...
  18. I run 18:12, but founded I kinda needed a little more "oomph", so I just got longer cranks. That way, it feels easy to pedal like 18:13 does so you get more immediate power, but you still have all the power of 18:12. I went from 158mm to 175mm, and gapping and power moves are a lot easier. It really does work better than just getting a spinnier ratio!

Well, you see the thing is is that there is a belief that after sex, the mind is sharper. At the moment, it's shearing season here. I just can't resist a bald sheep. I trust you can see where this is going (Y)
  20. Like I said to you in June, Jon - you are the only person I've ever known to fag them up (Y)

Incorrect, the comma shouldn't go there. The sentence was "Mark was saying it was shit you were demanding I should know the female pro's from other sports...". This is correct, as it is stating that Mark (in this case me) was saying that it was shit you were demanding..., and thus there is no need for a comma after 'shit' or 'demanding'. If you put the comma there, you are in effect splitting the statement part way through, which is not only un-necessary, but also wrong in the context of the sentence. If you put the comma there, you're stopping it mid flow, as the rest was explaining what was shit, and therefore the comma is not needed. If anything should've gone there (which it doesn't need to), it should've been a full stop. However, the way you've structured the sentence leads me to believe you misunderstood the actual sentence. It was a third person thing saying that I thought it was shit that you were demanding that I know the female pros from another sport. My sentence was the same as saying "Mark was saying it was shit that you were demanding something." If we add the comma in as you wanted it, it'd read "Mark was saying it was shit, that you were demanding something." This is wrong. The "that" can be omited however, as I did, so therefore, you're wrong. Now you've seen that, surely you realise how much of a dick you were in your post? (Y) Before anyone whinges I wouldn't usually do this, but Monkey needs to be told (Y)

If you weren't a skater, you wouldn't know of Elissa Steamer (unless you'd played THPS games (Y)), so demanding that I should know the names of famous people from other sports is gayer than you (Y)

Fox sponsor quite a few girl riders (they even did a 'big' roadtrip with them all), and they too are mostly turd. Same goes for their female MTB riders. Just check out Fox's "36 for 36" video results. The winning women's video was total shite. Really, really piss poor...
