BONGO Posted October 15, 2008 Report Share Posted October 15, 2008 Right, last week i put my Aunty on a Wireless BB connection in her house. 1st PC, new phone line, new BB off BT, new wireless hub off them and new dongle thingy. It was working for a few hours last week, but typically, the second she came home it went duff, and after hours of trying resets, settings, re-installing everything and whatever else i could think of, i was resigned to a chicken tikka and naan bread.I'm back, and it worked fromthe off, but again, the second she came home, it went off. I sent her round the block and it came back on. She came back and it went off. I just drove her car down the road and ran back, and i'm having no problems at all!!Her car, stops her wireless connection... The computer stops being able to find ANY connections when her car is here. When it is not here, the computer finds hers, which has full signal as it's only 5 meters away, and usually 3 or 4 others in her road.What can i do to sort this other than make her sell her car!My van is outside, yet that causes no problem... Krisboats Posted October 15, 2008 Report Share Posted October 15, 2008 Ah ha ha, thats one of the funniest and most unusual things i've heard all week.Have you tried changing the wireless channel? If the car is causing interference then changing the channel the router is broadcasting on should give you a possible channel that works even with the car there.If you have i don't know what to suggest. Cover the car in tin foil to bounce the signals off. If its a black car just get some stealth paint and it won't even show up on radar, let alone interfere with the router. I suppose it depends on your environment, we get it all the time at work...particularly in the warehouse where lorries park with CB radios, tracking and the like...
