Freewheels!

Hi

I was thinking of getting a new freewheel.

I had a look and it came down to a tensile or a world cat.

Which one do people think is better?

i think the tensile freewheel will be better

The tensile free wheel's are very strong and have alot of engagements and sound very nice,

alot of my friends use them so i would say go for a tensile freewheel

I have a Tensile at the moment and it works very well but i think sometimes it just depends on which one you get. sometimes they can be really bad

Yeah, definately tensile. In all the time I've had the tensile, it rarely skips and never had any other problems with it.

Pretty cheap compared to buying something like a profile hub, yet pretty similar performance (in my experience anyways).

Well everyone has said that the tensiles are better but i bet none of you have had a tensile and a world cat.(tell me if im wrong) , so its hard to say which one is better.

Tensiles may be the more common freewheel (and for good reasons), but the world cat could be better.

Also my tensile freewheel skips regularly and ive sheered a few paws as well.I keep it well maintained so tensile freewheels do have their problems.

i would personally go with a tensile but a friend of mine who i ride with just bought a white industries freewheel and that is awesome but they are very expensive like £65 from tartybikes, so id say tensile............

WI for sure! Had a Tensile, then upgraded to the WI and it feels mint! If you can't afford a WI go for the Monty one.

IMO Acs is good enought freewheel! It practically never skip and have a very low price! And another good variants -Wi eno/eno trials

Try-all is good frewheel if you regulary service it

Not many people are going to have had a worldcat in the UK yet as they have only been imported to this country for the last few months, i would take a guess that if the worldcat freewheel is a 72ep freewheel that it would be identical to the zhi, monty and viz ones just with different anodizing. From the people i have been speaking too who have had experience with both the tensile and the other freewheel they say that they are both very good, but since the tensile is cheaper to go with that one.

I had a Tensile for 2 years, I never had any trouble with it.

I also had a Monty one, I didn't like it very much. It worked fine, it just didn't feel as solid as a Tensile.

I noticed that someone buy tensile, regualary serviced them and it died 3 month later and it skipped from first day of using freewhell, and someone buy it and active use it some years and hapy with them
