Re-Building A Hub

A few months back my Trialtech Race rear hub just exploded. At the time I just bought the same hub, but with sealed bearing (I had cones before). So now i have the hub shell in my garage and I want to get it usable again!

I know I'll need to get a new axle, but is there any way I can make the hub sealed this time?

Details of what I would need would be great, or if anyones done it before and can help?

I know it's a wasteful mindset - but it'll cost you more to fix up than it would to just buy a new one.

Also - I'm reasonably confident there's no realistic way of putting sealed bearings in there. Not 100% on that, but somewhere around 98-99.

Im thinking, with the amount it would cost for someone to machine down those bearing races,

for the amount it would cost to get a decent set of sealed bearings,

the amount it would cost to purchase/ get an axle machined,

would cost almost as much and maybe more as a new hub WITH sealed bearings.

I wouldn't bother personaly. Maybe rebuild it using a cheaper axle and bearings and sell it on?
