Sandbugg Posted October 2, 2020 Report Share Posted October 2, 2020 Does anyone have experience with the kmc 810sl chains (K1SL in new money) the ones with hollow pins and plates ive ordered a bike that comes with one and the thought of it is worrying me should I swap it out straight away or is it fine to give it the usual 3 months of use ? Mark W Posted October 2, 2020 Report Share Posted October 2, 2020 I snapped 3 or 4 of them (technically the K710 SL) on my BMX. I found I broke more of the regular K-series chains than Z-series HX chains, so a drilled out, lighter version doesn't give me a huge amount of confidence in them. TartyBikes seem to sell a fair amount of them so there are obviously people out there who get on with them, but chains aren't really something I'd like to roll the dice with. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'd ride it for a few days while you wait to get another chain in. But not long term.
