If You Had The Money

Of course I would!!! There is one in the ulster transport muesem in belfast, absoutley gorgeous cars, but they were a complete failure really.

Failure for sure, which makes them NOT complete pieces of junk, but a classic car that is getting more popular by the year, more people are buying them. I could bore you to death about them but I wont, all I'll say is that Im going to buy one as soon as I have the cash and the extra 2k to do engine and suspension modifications.

It is not worth 16k AT ALL, 12k at the most, and that's only becasue it was in back to the future. If they hadn't used a delorean for the films then it wouldn't be half as popular as it is.

Its unreliable, the battery is shit, its a bitch to keep clean, its slow, its uncomftable, its left hand drive, its automatic, its old (its not a 'classic')...

If i was rich and got the chance then i would buy one for the cool factor (because i f**king love BTTF), but i would never pay more than 12k and that would have to be for one that had been modenised, I.e it started first time, (although if it started at all it would be a plus).

It's the Mazda RX7/8's that use the Wankel Rotary engine which is used in Helicopters.

Really? What helicopter is that? Sure your not getting confused with radial engines which were used in early versions of the Wessex? As far as i was aware the characteristics of the rotary engine made it unsuitable for helicopter use.

As for the car, lush, but probably not the car i'd buy with 17k.

Not sure which helicopters as I'm more of a car person - I just know it was developed as a possible replacement for radial engines

17K would go a long way towards a 6R4 :D

Again, probably not my first choice of car for 17k, but then again if I had loadsa dosh and already had a decent car or two, definatly!

And it really cant be that hard to get a car bodywork/bodykit specialist to make you a Back To The Future lookalikee!!!

Agreed with the guy who said its only good because its in back to the future. Theres a guy who lives two streets away from me who drives on, he only brings it out in summer and it has some plates on it like 'b2tf c9r' or some shit like that..

...but yeah, looks f**king disgusting.

17k i'd buy a 600bhp skyline, really.

But thats me. :P

Can see the cars appeal, don't get me wrong, and a car is worth however much someone loves it, so 17k could seem cheap for some, but with the mechanical failures it is no doubt going to have, it wont stop at 17k.

the person across the road from me has a deloren thats done up like the car in bttf. anyone see the gumball rally with it in. thats the same car, they called the speakmans and have a tv program on sky.

anyway..... the deloren was shit. soooooo unreliable, not that fast. was too expensive. raw stainless steel finish that was awful to clean and came from the factory looking in awful condition ( nearly all had dings and warps in them) and also just look at it, its hideous.

With 17k for a car i would probably not get one, BUT if I was a rich bitch with money to throw around i would have one for the sake of it, I would have a lot of old rare cars that in truth are pieces of shit.

because i am highly skint i shant be buying anything for a while.

A camper is a shed on wheels, the similarity is remarkable ;)

true. theyre slow, unreliable, handle like a heap of shit, they look like crap cos the factory didnt actually paint them, and you can get absolutely no parts for them if anything goes wrong, which will happen.

Unfortunately that isnt true. Delorean Motor Cars Limited is alive and well in Texas. Massive warehouse that has like $55m worth or parts - everything from the underbodies to the doors, glass to tiny rubber washers. Theres a company in Sussex who imports, restores, upgrades (for performance and in general) and does just about anything to make these cars better than new! Theres loads of history and apparently on average one or two a month are being imported back to the UK. So with any luck, you may see my driving one in a few years. people may think they are ugly but I think its just cos ive wanted one since i was small (childhood dream if you like) so I bloody adore them. They are not for everybody, this I can understand and can see where the negative feelings from some people come from, but thats cool, you're not all me hehe so its cool.

You can also get 5spd Manual, which is what im after, Eibach springs, new angle drives and a 200bhp+ engine upgrade, might even invest in the twin turbo kit for it - pipe dream really, but I hope it happens one day! :turned:

Jonny.
