Cranks,

Recommended Posts

I have a T-Pro frame in my garage and i am building it up, the first things i need are cranks,

and would not mind if a few people could give me ideas on what i need...

I know i need... cranks arms, freewheel, chain, chainring and a bottom bracket. I would prefer for the cranks arms to be Tensile, but could have others depending on

what other people think. For example, what bottom bracket do i need?

please help me...

thanks, Lewis!

In my opinion i would go for the zoo cranks with the zoo bashguard with SKF-BFR 300 bottom bracket, then the kmc kool chain and a ENO freewheel.

Sound like a nice set-up to me.

Dan.

Agreed, although I'd go with GU cranks and a tensile freewheel, just to save money, and not loose much quality.

tensiles are far from pure shit, especially the urban legends that are a fair bit stronger. deng cranks have had a bit of a habbit of rounding/stripping in the past, dont know much about the new ones but i'd still go for tensile for quality.

the new ones are rock hard, imagine a rock in crank form :P , but seriously id get deng cranks you wont be disappointed

Tensile cranks - £109 (or GUs for £110 if you want deng)

New Echo BB - £45

ACS claw 18t - £16

Total - £170

Or if you want something better rhan an ACS (keeping in mind tensile and monty freewheels are out of stock)

Tensile cranks - £109 (or GUs for £110 if you want deng)

SKF BFR300 - £43

Try-all Freewheel - £52 (or a monty for £39 when there back in stock)

Total - £204 with tryall £191 with monty

You cant have the SKF with any freewheels other than those two as the over-sized axle fouls the removal tabs

Edit: you will need a 128 or 122.5mm BB axel as you are running a front freewheel.
