a 203 on the front of a mod? Won't that be lethal (probably overkill too), and really likely to get smashed?

it had a 203mm on the front for 15 weeks, but I took it off and put it on the back. It's only 43mm over a 160 extra disc to hit, if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. I've found ice tech stiffer anyway, and I can't sidehop for shit.

I ran 180mm ice techs on my blade with Saints, and that was way overkill. But I liked it haha

the stopping power is just oooffttttt

You are my kind of man! The only reason I don't run 203s is that I don't want to invalidate the warranty on my frame. Does anybody know how much more likely you actually are to break your frame with a 203mm rotor?

hmm the simplest answer slightly more likely than a 180, and 180 is slightly more likely than a 160. It's just the amount of leverage over the frame as the callipers distance from the frame increases. That being said, I've only seen the brakes an adapters crack, the one frame I saw crack from a 203mm was with a disc tab that was an afterthought in terms of design Edited by Herbertlemon102

That is along the lines of what I was thinking... inspired disc mounts are pretty beefy so I doubt I would have a problem :)

Upgraded to m810s front and rear. Running a 160 ice tech at the front though, if anyone has a 203mm ice tech please get in touch.

Anyway- stopping power=yes

copy cat ;) really dont see the need in ice tech rotors for a mod though, especially in 203mm, my brakes work insanely well with 180mm rt66 rotors and ive only had 3 rides on them

A LOT more likely! Euan Beaden ran 203s on a 2013 fourplay team and snapped the frame after 5 months or so. however hes had 203s on an Arcade for over a year... im sticking with 180s on my Skye, mainly because not many people actually need 203s, and realistically i dont either (other than top riders i guess) and because if i ever go to a smaller rotor ill hate it haha.

saying that, there are a few crazy people like Jamie who run 203s for DA ULTIMATE BRAKIN POWAR :P but other than that most people dont "need" them imo, and a lot of people run them to be like danny mac n stuff. i personally dont get the fancyness about 203s haha

I like to prepare myself for crashing into walls by having brakes which replicate that experience ;)
