Loughborough It Has Been Decided Lads (y)
Rebelistic replied to Gaz M's topic in Member Organised Rides
Hi, is anyone riding Braken rocks this Saturday (30th) then? I'll probably be buying a 2nd hand echo pure on Sat morning so I may call at Braken to give it a test on my way home (Leicester). Cheers -
Some nice pics I was asked for a password to get into one part. Looking good but could do with more content
-
Looks nice, I'm thinking of getting something longer myself. I think the old T-rex is shorter than the new one.

Thanks for the advice I would have phoned before going to supercycles (I wish I had) but I've always been ok in the past on Saturdays (I knew weekdays were a bit dodgy) so I just went, didn't expect it to have turned into a Ralliegh(sp?) shop. The guy in the shop did try and phone supercycles but no one was there. I've just spoken to supercycles and there are no more lineys anyway so I'll go to Tarty. I like the look of the Adament bikes but don't know how they ride. Has anyone got any comments about them? I ride an onza T-Rex (old model) at the moment and like it but I think it's a bit short and heavy. Thanks again

At the weekend I went all the way to Supercycles, only to find that they have closed I wanted to buy a new trials bike (possibly the Limey) but I'd like to be able to see the bike before buying. I was told that I could arrange to see a bike in the onza factory but Ive been unable to contact them. Are there any (real shops not just online) shops that sell top end trials bikes or do I have to buy online? It seems a shame that trials bikes are so rare in shops as I don't know anyone who rides the bikes Ive been considering and I'm reluctant to buy a bike I've never seen. I'm after a complete build. Any help would be great, cheers

Ymsa Series Directions **updated 29th March 07*
Rebelistic replied to AdamR28's topic in Member Organised Rides
Good directions but Bracken rocks only seems to be open from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays I arrived at just gone 4 to be told I couldn't ride -
I've had a twisted wrist that seemed to take ages to heal, but now it's fine. Recently my left ankle has felt a bit weak after riding and the occaisonal bail made it worse . Now after a bit of time off the bike (just a few days) and doing other exercises (swimming and running) it's fine again . I think stretching and doing warmup exercises before you ride really helps IMO. Cheers

Ok, I'm on a short holidy in Tenby and could use some bike parts (rear mech & gloves). Anyone know of any decent bikeshops nearby (within a short bus or train ride)? Any help would be great. Cheers

I think I would like to have a go at a competition, I gather you have to join a club. Does anyone know what club is the nearest to me? Any advice would be helpful, Cheers

I've not heard anything about it but I thought it would be held every two years. Does anyone know if it will be on this year? Cheers

Whats Better 20 Or 26 Does It Matter
Rebelistic replied to dan more's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Please search the forum before posting a new topic as this question has been asked loads of times. -
Search the forum, there have been loads of topics about this with lots of info.

I would like to see more versatile trials bikes as components and technology get better. Perhaps the perfect freeride/trials bike. For example a bike with a small chainring up front and yet still a full range of gears, maybe using hub gears or something? Light suspension forks with a lockout feature? Telescopic seatposts?
-
I'm going on holiday there in a few weeks myself. I'll probably take my bike as there seemed to be some good places to ride. If there are any riders that are in Tenby then want to go for a ride let me know.

Can't new members post in chitchat? Surley thats the place for non-trials topics.

As long as you're posts are reasonable I think you should get validated, but I think it is possible to get missed by the moderators. Hopfully this topic will get you noticed.

Try Trashzen or biketrials.com for 'how to' guides. There's a few others aswell with some good tutorials on. The DVD's 'tricks and stunts' and 'the art of trials' are pretty good IMO. Keep practicing, good luck

When Do You Consider How Long Youve Been Riding
Rebelistic replied to dan more's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I think it depends on wether you're talking about trials riding or just general bike riding. I've been riding bikes for about 20 years but riding trials for about 2 years.
