What Are The Most Annoying Things You Find When Riding?
Rebelistic replied to Ben Beckett's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Feeling like I'm not making much progress sometimes You know when you keep trying something and yet you still can't do it. -
Cool vid Kris Nice to see some Leicester trials on here

Nice pics, does anyone know if they sell those RL signiture forks ?

I've heard of situations where someone is in a coma or something and it is only a feeding tube keeping them alive. Then the doctors are allowd to let them die by removing their feedng tube. They don't kill them as such they just don't keep them alive. This seems cruel as the person then starves to death and who knows if they can still suffer or not. I think it would be better to give them a quick painless death but that is not allowed by law. I do think Voluntary Euthanasia should be legal.

I've not seen that many live bands recently, but the ones I have seen have been pritty good IMO. One that stands out is Freestyle Collective where they do an open mike session where any singers/musicians can Jam with them live. You get some interesting stuff. But yeah I bet you do get a lot of bands just doing pop covers.

Need Your Help With Maths Coursework!
Rebelistic replied to luke_onza's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I ride mainly street because I live in a city, but I would say I like street and natural the same. -
Perhaps this topic should be made Sticky

I have a pure myself, it seems like a great frame. I've just gone for black and silver - I think it looks nice but maybe a bit boring. I've gone for single speed as I never seem to be able to get gears to work perfectly. The gear I run (22:18) seems fine for trials riding but being able to change up to a higher gear would make it better for riding any distance.

Trials Videos/ Dvds? Which Ones?
Rebelistic replied to chips_an_beans's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I've just got 'Leaps & Bounds' which is really good IMO. It doesn't have tutorials though but well worth watching if you're into Trials history. -
Interesting topic. I don't get much trouble in Leicester, but then I'm careful where I ride & try not to get in anyone's way. It's near impossible not to occaisonaly chip a wall if you get something wrong but then I pay a hell of a lot of council tax, income tax, stealth tax etc. that should more than cover any damage I do. I find people complain then walk off before I can justify what I'm doing, I'd love to point out some of the harmful things that they do (eg. driving cars, wearing clothes made in a sweatshop etc) and that relitively(sp) chiping a wall isn't all that bad. Still I wish people would check that their hands are clean before they point their fingers

Whats Your Favorite Riding Terrain?(survey)
Rebelistic replied to Bridport-Rider-Dave's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I like both street and natural, but find some natural so difficult. I like to mix both (eg. when you have rocks and walls together) I think natural really improves your skills. -
I don't live anywhere near Bristol but I've signed anyway as there's just too much concrete and not enough green spaces. Hope they don't build

Looks Sunny, it's bound to be cold but hopefully dry.

I contaminated my pads recently with brake fluid. Burning them seems to do the trick

It would be an idea to have a bleed kit incase something goes wrong.
-
I'll be there (Leicester on Sat) as long as my bike works - I'm thinking of fitting some new cranks before then.

Ah, thanks that makes sense. So on the upper side of the diaphram you may have air that is free to leave the system as the oil expands but you should not have any air under the diaphram. The small hole in the resevoir cap is probably the reason I thought mine was leaking as I just filled everything with oil. I assume there is some mechanism that removes the resevoir from the system while the lever is being pulled or the breaking would feel spongey like there was air in the system. Thanks again
-
I did search but didn't find anything. I've been bleeding my hope mono and was wondering why it has an oil resevoir on the break lever? Should this resevoir be completely full of oil or should there be an air space in it? It seems silly to me, why not just have it like maguras with no resevoir? Cheers

The first time I went I arrived at 4:20 on a Saturday. There was a guy with a moto trials bike just packing up who said that it was open from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and so I couldn't ride I went back on another Saturday to find that there was no one there except a rider who was just leaving who said that they didn't know if it was open or not but they were just riding anyway. I rode there for a while and never saw anyone else (owners or riders). It does seem strange to me that it closes at 4pm but there is no one to tell you to leave

Looks nice If it rides nice then you made the right decision

Diet is very important, even more so as you get older. I keep meaning to eat healthy myself, but I'm not quite there yet
-
Yes thats the older silver one I have. Thanks for the link that looks like my best bet, I didn't know you could get that half seperately. Thanks for your help
-
Cheers Is that when a new thread is put in?
-
I recently lost a bolt in my hope caliper (mono or mini I think, not too sure), but when I tried to replace it I found that the thread in the caliper had stripped. The thread for the other bolt has also been stripped and replaced with a bolt and nut to hold it together in the past and that works ok. The problem is that there is less space for a nut on this bolt hole as it is thicker and so a nut will probably foul on the rotor. I either need a bolt that is just the right length with a very thin nut (so it won't foul the rotor) or I need to get it re-threaded if that is possible. Or I need a new break. I hope this makes sense Does any one have any suggestions? Cheers

Thought I'd ask in here - I have a Kool chain, it came with my bike. It doesn't have a joining link like sram chains, so how do you join the chain? Do you just join it with a chain tool? - I've heard that the links are not very strong if you do that?
