There is a big difference between a Camera for stills and a camera for videos. Im currently using a JVC Everio G cam corder. recording in Ultra fine mode i get about 4 and a half hours video footage on the inbuilt hard drive(no tapes/dvd's) and the video quality is pretty darn good. Altho this camera cost about £400.... so thats not much help.... but it may be great for video's it is a bit wank for normal pics, unfortunately. Best kinda place to go is somewhere like Jessops, they should have someone that can talk you through a camera in your price range, for either stills or video.
