  1. I don't know about anyone else (maybe i'm just getting old) but I used to love going to comps its just I rarely find the time to get out on the bike let alone organise comps. Seems that the average age at comps is probably what 18-19? If that. Kinda college-uni years. For me full time employment has zapped my time to practice - therefore making me more apprehensive about my level of riding/competing. I remember when I was doing the Southwest series in '04 i was still one of the more 'senior' riders there and I was only 21! So maybe its an age trend thing? - back when trials was taking off (i'm talking when the Martin's were first in MBUK/chainspotting etc.) Trials was this new exciting thing, as riders of that generation progressed it was natural for them to progress into comps. Maybe trials is just in a natural 'lull' (i think that moutain biking in general is in decline compared to the late 90's early 00's), many of the jump spots near me that used to be rammed in the summer with college/school kids don't seem to be used half as much anymore. Im sure it will pick up again in the next generation of riders though. Thats my 10p's worth, apologies if it sounds like the ramblings of a bitter old man! Rob

  9. Its a sweet spot, and surprisingly grippy in the wet! Rode there about a year ago when I was helping mark out a motor trials comp. Mint pics and riding though! Did you have to get permission? I'l defo have to pay it another visit soon! Rob
  10. Yeah fingers crossed! I will let bigman explain the drilling technique, knowing him he probably just growled at it and it fell out... maybe...
  11. Ok so I decided i needed a more natural oreinted frame as there is no decent street where i live. so, bigman to the rescue! His (unfortunately cracked) frame was up for grabs so i thought i'd give it a new lease of life (for a while at least) So i guess custom features include drilled out seat tube, headtube, bb shell and top tube end, as well as internal cable malarky. Sprayed up the whole frame again and then primed and masked the front end black and added detail on the masked area. Im real pleased with the outcome. Sorry about the shady images. Im sure you can work out the spec from the pics. Here it be... Sprayed the steerer tube that shows through the frame... Just need to get some custom stickers done now. Let Me know what you rekon

  18. In my opinion there is quite a big difference, the pro 2 feels clunky and non responsive in comparison. I quite like the ride of a king as it feels really tight. If maintained properly they should rarely/never skip. If you can afford to spash out get the king, best bet is to find a second hand well maintained one. Depends how "stabby" you are on the pedals when riding. I should imagine the hope is probably stronger but wouldn't know for sure.
