  1. Woooow.... Aren't 'Burns lifetime guaranteed? Just send it back to 'em, and get a swanky new one! I'm almost SURE they're for life...
  2. More to answer his question.... It doesn't matter. It's personal preferance as to what front brake you run. A LOT of riders prefer disks just on the front, but a lot of pro's also like dual disk. On the other hand - a bunch of exceptional riders use rim brakes on front and rear aswell... It really doesn't matter - so long as you set them up properly - which you'll learn to do through bitter experience, all too quickly.

    Yet More Danny Mac

Not the most impressive move in the video - but that last line on the slope, with the sidehop is my absolute favourite. That's just f**king genius at work. Also - as has already been said - the hook?! That's getting on for Hermance height, right?
  4. Wow wow wow... At no point did I say real and not real... I just said it the new mainstream stuff sounds horrible. (Meaning, in my opinion.) Let's get that cleared up right a way The sort of sound I'm really into is stuff like Amon Tobin, Autechre, and ESPECIALLY Chris Clark and Venetian Snares. Here's a youtube, but bear in mind the bit of the music I'm talking about will have mostly gone to shit with the youtube compression Chris Clark - Indigo Optimus Venetian Snares - My Half http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ld0iHQwrzj0&hl=en&fs=1 On the note of Pendulum - I'm dead opposite you Really liked the D&B exclusive album, and the rocky one doesn't appeal to me one bit - but again, just to clarify, that's not the part I'm talking about EDIT: Gah! How is youtube embedding done on this forum? It's been SO long since I've done it.
  5. Cool. I was sort of hoping it wasn't down to the artists' choice. Understandable for those reasons - but I much prefer the dirtier sound
  6. Either you missed the point, or I didn't make it clear. The music is just the preference of the person. That's not what I'm on about. It's the mastering stages. The sounds are all FAR too crisp, and it just sounds overdone... Y'know - like the special effects part in Space Oddysee 2001?
  7. Now I'm into what most people consider the more abstract side of electronic music, but enjoy the more mainstream stuff as well. ....Or at least - I DID. I am, of course, referring to the new Prodigy album, and Pendulum's In Silico. Not only was I massively dissapointed with the musical content, the overall sound of both albums is f**king horrible. They've both been so over-done and hyper-produced that they just sound completely out of place, and horrid. Is this what most electronic music in the mainstream is like now? Crystal clear and sidechained to f**k? ...And if it is, do you like it, or prefer it to a slightly lo-fi'er sound? I mean like a bit of hiss in the background, to fill in the blanks etc. The snare drums all sound bloody terrible, too. I realise this may be the wrong forum - but I know for sure there's a few enthusiasts on here, and thought I'd ask

Well it got me pretty well sorted I guess you did it wrong... The instructions ARE hard to follow, for someone like you

www.gnod.net Absolutely brilliant. Nothing more to say.
  10. Jeez man. You were a tank even before you left. Calm down... Your making us look really bad
  11. Not quite... There WAS that 59/60" bunny hop in his last video... I'd say it's more of a "quick, gradual" thing.
  12. Y'know... I sort of put the thread up so that I could ask everyone on the forum at once... Big and little names alike - save me pestering the big names, then moving onto the little ones, as I'm not worthy of their time.
  13. I had a fairly long/lowish Pazzaz setup up front on my Zoot, and rode it fairly TGSish. Got taps to a brick above bar height (sorry - don't know in inches). About a month ago, I switched to a RaceFace stem, and 2" rise Azonics. I can still tap it, but only at about bar height now. I switched 'cause I'd always fancied streety riding, but never given it a go. I weent on Revolver's Inspired, and felt duty bound to do so I can now bunnyhop (to rear) barheight + TWO bricks. The bar heights are about the same. Now I'm by no means complaining, as I've only benefitted from this, but it's made me curios. Question to all other 24" riders, part time, ex, or all the way: Can you tap, or bunnyhop higher? I asked some friends on mods/stocks, and they all say tap - but is the bunnyhoppability just a characteristic of the 24" geo?
  14. That's how I read it, too.... If you do - they don't. I ride right-foot forward, and until a few days ago, sidehopped to the right too. I seem to be "ambi-hopstrous", and can get as high to the left as the right. Feels equally comfy, too. (this wasn't a conscious effort, as I hardly do them. It just sort'f happened )
  15. I have one of these (drilled to 4bolt by previous owner, but it still does it's job ). I can testify that they're bloody good.
  16. Jeez guys... Why are you all so hyped up? That was pretty average compared to the riding you see around Loughborough... Especially when we go to Bunny.
  17. Is that where you landed, or brake slip?
  18. Yes, he has. Took a lot of effort to make all that stuff... Then he realised it wasn't worth it, and has been utterly slacking off for the past 13.7 billion years
  19. First off, would it be "technology's", or "technologies"? I couldn't decide. http://www.cracked.com/article_15231_7-rea...-miserable.html Similar stuff has been posted, no doubt - but this is very well done, I think. I've had these thoughts for a long time, but this outlines them all perfectly, and puts them in a neat little box. I want to move away from computers, but I just don't know what else to do. S'like I'm bored of life. Anyone else get this? Anyway, I thought I'd just post this to depress you all, and see if people feel the same way.
  20. That, and people decide to degrade themselves further, by becoming a semi-cyber race I hate life (read: people ((read: me )) ).
  21. It's a hellish risky route - so don't blame me if it doesn't work - but if it does, it'd be somewhat memorable Take her to some form of abandoned building. There's a mental asylum 'round these parts, and it's SHOCKINGLY fun to get primitive, and just break stuff :/ She might be that one in a million type of girl that doesn't think it's the end of the world when a nail gets chipped - and then it'd be hella fun. Atleast the act of you taking her there would get you stuck in her thoughts
  22. Riding was incredible, but I found that really boring.
  23. Edit: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....236&hl=zoot Mine's a bit different now... CK hub, HiFi forks etc... but there's a few for you to look at.
  24. At the risk of sounding patronising.... I care not to try and find out why - so I'll say it's for "some reason" - our brain prefers rectangles of a particular proportion. This is 1.618... (phi) It's just a ratio... 1.618:1. Widescreen monitors look nicer 'cause they're closer to this "golden ratio". Square monitors have a ratio of 4:3 (1280x1024 etc...). 4 / 3 gives 1.333 - or 1.333:1. Widescreens have a 16:9 ratio (1680x1050 etc...). 16 / 9 gives 1.777 - or 1.777:1. This is obviously closer to the magical 1.618:1, so our heads prefer it's proportions ("for some reason" ) A golden ratio'd screen would be more like 16:10, being that 16.18 inches is getting a bit anal To link this in with the beauty aspect (taken out of proportion for the sake of ease): If your head is an foot wide, if it wasn't close to 1.618 feet tall, you'd start looking a bit weird. (Bottom picture) The other ones are just showing some other relations to phi found on the human face. The more of these that conform on a persons face, the more beautiful they will appear. This picture you were on about the other day is another example. And this can be taken further: The other famous useage of it is in the spiral picture you'll've seen a good few thousand times. This is where the fibonacci sequnce Partz was on about comes in. This occurs everywhere. Nature knows all about it. Most common example is sunflower heads. The seeds grow organised into this spiral. The spiral works in both directions. I sure hope I didn't get it wrong... It's been a while. Interesting stuff though. Search for "Phi". It's the name given to this irational number 1.618.... Symbolised by this greek symbol, if you wonder what it all means:
