  1. Same frame as yours, so superb! Cheers
  2. The frameset is in the box still, so not measured it.. just wondering if anyone knows what I would need on a 2018 HEX frameset when running 180s? TIA
  3. That is also interesting point, some of the Inspired 24"s dance either side of 1000mm wb, with the Fourplay below, the Flow above..
  4. The nostalgia hit me and I built up a Zero 4 years back, just wasn’t as good as I remember and sold it haha Yeah 24” just kept looping out and it felt just tiny. The Alias is a 20” but is a weird, fun mix for street and TGS. It’s super sketchy as it’s designed for being all round.. though not ridden it as much as had a baby last year! Also purchased a BASE TA26 frame and found a NOS 2018 Hex frame-set (as they never pop up) in the garage in case I decide 26” again. Had a Mk 1 Hex in the past, felt like a nice progression, the chain stays being shorter took some getting used to, kept looping back wheel moves as wasn’t compensating. But wanted dual disc and this was an HS33 rear frame. Inspired frames are rare as they were typically sold full build, you are better trying for a TMS or Extension if you want frameset and build up.
  5. Honest advice.. Get on some and see how you feel?? Where are you based, see if there are any riders locally you can take a ride out with and see. Everyone here will have a different opinion, but, until you get on them and get a feel on what suits, it is hard to judge. As actually, Zero to a Hex are completely incomparable with the investment in geo, materials, etc. that Inspired have put in.. in a good way! So will feel "different" but more at home as big wheels. 24" though might suit just your riding style and the slightly smaller wheels and feel might suit you more?? Good luck in the hunt! (I went for the, gonna build a 24" and just absolutely couldn't get my head around it, the body shape differences etc. so sold it and have an Alias and building a Hex as my personal experience/opinion).
  6. 2018 HEX is the following geometry (as I have a NOS Orange frame set as well) and it is the exact same GEO as the latest as well: Wheelbase: 1023mm Chainstay: 380mm BB Height: +20mm Head Angle: 73.5˚ Seems they haven't changed the geo formula here for a while!
  7. I know.. as seen in the other threads, the sheer lack of materials and increasing costs just killing lesser covered sports, guess they have to consider the wider parent brand and what is actually cost efficient.. Shame, as this frame and the 24" they did are pretty cool!
  8. In my hunt for a bike that covers an "all round" kind of riding - picked this up in the summer. Timing as always, had a baby, so poor things only been ridden twice in anger.. True to its creation.. it handles what you throw at it, hops, manuals, spins, gaps - just completely chuck-able, if a little twitchy sometimes! Great spec from the previous owner: Alias 20.2, Rockman Forks, Hope Pro 4's on Trialtrech rims, Saint brakes (savage power). Looking forwards to some better weather and time in the NY to really put it through its paces.
  9. Fresh pics in the sunshine up! Still not riding it as much as I should, the tyres still have mould knobbles on them..
  10. That looks incredible ! Looking forwards to seeing the build thread
  11. That was awesome, reminded me of a little section from Chainspotting era vids - some neat lines, loved the shot, song was a great choice!

Ahh takes me back, nice to see some of the older spots still going! As always, nice riding
  13. This is literally it. So long out the body takes longer to acclimatise to the moves again, with less time to practice being an adult and with a family and the fear being back, I threw myself into a lot more before. Though I am loving the projects to build and play with, that’s the more fun side of being a little more older with a career that can fund the habit haha. Worse things out there.
  14. For those that know me, I am a habitual project guy - got back into trials again after around a 10-year break and had a good 4/5 builds over the last 3 years which I have hoped would be "the one" but just ended up selling. Latest and the one I am most enjoying is a custom build Extension Edith frameset. Picked it up from FXN April 21 and went on a bit a spending spree. After several rides it is a lot of fun (though kind of miss being able to do some TGS and street)! Build includes, Hope Pro 4's on Spanks, Descent cranks w/Extention integrated ring / Bash, Magura MT Trail with Jitsie pads, Jitsie bar and stem, Kink BMX pinstripe pivotal on Inspired post, DMR v12 Magnesium. The Conti Danny Macs are are so tacky they are saving my old bacon when I get things a bit wrong - which after being an all round kind of rider happens a little more than I like - Practice Practice Practice!
  15. Time to post my yearly link to - https://www.arthurcaygillcycles.co.uk/product/ashton-edd-tongue#.YNrlJJNKjqs the build is horrible but the frame is NOS! As for the stickers @Ben Davies didn't you have a run of them?
  16. I love the sparkly paint in the black parts of the frame - not had this colourway before (had a Little Audrey the first time around)!
  17. Yeah that’s it! It feels like it takes an age before engaging. Especially against the Pro 4 on the modern bike
  18. Going through the garage and there’s enough parts for a full-ish build. Current state is this: Jack Flash Trials frame (A recent addition), Gusset forks, B.M.F on Deore hub rear, Mavic on basic Shimano front, Planet X stem (mega short) and some badly painted risers. BB is imminent then will whack on a set of cranks. It’s lighter than expected, short as I thought and retro as!
  19. Top tippage! Thank you. Yeah it is a weird time to be building a bike up.
  20. Thanks Mark, So to put it into language my brain will get today. 2.5 inside the BOTH cups to BB shell 4.5 between cup outer and crank drive side 0 between cup outer and crank non drive side Unfortunately, the Extension integrated doesn't have a spacer like that, managed to get a spacer set that should have 4.5 in it. Will have a double-check. I had to busk it as Tarty had no Inspired Integrated nor the spacer. Cheers! Brett
  21. Hello! I am intending to put a set of Truvativ Descendant cranks w/ integrated 22th Extension ring - bash on my Mark 1 King of Dunce, it has a 68 BB.. however no matter what spacer set up I go for, it seems super close! Does anyone have experience in what spacers work? As I have tried the FSA site and they seem to think 7.5 on the drive - however, they don't seem to exist? Cheers! Brett
  22. That is it.. modern is all tapered and non 26". Will mean rolling into RetroBike and PinkBike and taking a punt on something well looked after!
  23. Howdy! I have a 2003 Orange Patriot which I have built up as a mixed retro frame/modern(ish) parts and I am thinking of changing forks. As you can imagine of this age - it's 1/18, non tapered and 26" wheels. Toying with getting some Fox 34s, but wondering what else people have ridden and can suggest. I ride a mix of XC and Trail mainly. Cheers!
  24. 2nd black forks - the contrast will pay off (and it's not a mid-late 2000s all silver TGS machine)
