  1. Building up a 24" and want to run discs front and rear. I haven't run discs on a trials bike in a very long time and back then in the traditional front-only position on a TGS bike (not all round on a bike). Want to get a pair with a decent rear for feel, power and minimal/no flex. Looking at Tarty there are a wealth of options from Magura's to Hopes. Wondering which people lean to really and why to get an idea? Cheers, Brett
  2. Thanks all! Invested in a set of Spank Spike 33's and some Danny Mac tyres.. now just to need to think about cranks
  3. Thanks Ali - expected them to be waaay more money than that! Will do some further reading Cheers Mark, Spank 24" are hard to come by though right?
  4. As the title says, looking to find out some opinions on the best 24" rims and tyres for a street bike. Will be running discs so not concerned about rim brake surface. TIA - Brett
  5. Enjoyed that! Nice to see the progression - the background noise and music was messing with my brain in some parts
  6. Yeah it was a short-lived play on this before I parted ways with the frame and got the Ashton Justice. The build ended up with a set of Inspireds forks, Mavic wheelset and a Maxxis Holy Roller just squeezed in. The front was so high as Leon states that you have to consider it a rear wheel machine only.. honestly it is a great nostalgia build if you can get the parts to suit, like a lot of nostalgia the rose tints will drop after riding it and remembering how different bikes were then.
  7. I have always been a fan of these! 2nd for a video on this one in action
  8. Maybe worth a thread on RetroBike and Pink Bike see if anyone has one collecting dust somewhere?
  9. It wouldn't surprise me - I have run a number of carbon bars in the past. I have actually invested in a set of low rise MTB carbons from Selcof to give them a try out.. if they don't work will stick them on the MTB and try a set of trials specific ones
  10. Hello! Looking for a bit of advice - been changing the Ashton to make it that little more perfect and I have just sold the Inspired's I was running as it felt too high at the front end. Remembering my old build I had a set of risers probably around 60mm rise, but they don't seem to exist anymore.. Anyone running different / non-trials bars that would work? TIA, Brett
  11. Isitafox hits the nail on the head.. a modern, specific bikes compared to the Planet X Jackflash is going to be worlds apart so it's a tough call! What kind of riding do you want to do / made you get back into it? Middleground would be a 24" Varial or shortish 26" maybe? Obviously the best thing to do would be to try some out - but with the current state of the planet, it makes that impossible....
  12. A fair few (4 in the last 2 years) not quite to Ross' level.. think @Ben Davies has surpassed me... maybe
  13. Well a number of weeks ago - Ashton Justice came up and whilst it would have looked ace on the wall in the garage, someone wanted it to ride so a no brainer.
  14. Well the Zero was parted ways with to make way for an Ashton Justice - I did remember it being a pig to get a stable tyre in the rear
  15. That is a shame! Now being in a grown-up job and being able to afford a custom 609, I was really hoping there would be something - seems unlikely
  16. Old Topic Bump - did anyone ever hear anything on this - the website still stated the same (coming soon) but not enough coming for my liking!
  17. Nice little set up - always wanted the blue one. Enjoy it!!
  18. I would see if they would run a few frames as well.. you know, just in case!
  19. Hola! I have been on the hunt for one of these frames pretty much since I sold mine about 15 years ago. Thankfully @Mikee had one he was willing to part ways with! Decided to splash a bit on the build and make it a bit of a Hope fest for parts, including a brand new set of Pro 4's on some old school Viz white rims from Ben at Trials Addict! Only changes to come are getting a tensioner on the back once I have sorted a mech hanger and a red Hope QR for the front. Shame the forks are as rare as the frames but managed to source a set of TNN vee forks and a brake from @Ben Davies - cheers mate. Some pics: Spec is: Justice Mark 3 Frame TNN Vee Forks Hope Pro 4 Wheelset in Red on Viz rims Hope Headset Hope 90x10 Stem Inspired Arcade Bars 04 Magura Rear with Magura Reds Avid Single Digit Front with Onza pads (might source some red pads) Middleburn RS7's with Middleburn 22th ring DMR V12 Magnesium Pedals For now it will be rolling around the garden and bedding it all in, getting some flat practice - but looking forwards to getting out properly! Cheers, Brett
  20. Black, Red and White V3 - not the diamondback
  21. Howdy! Just finishing up an Ashton Justice build (will get pics up shortly.). Want to run it 22-18, however the hanger has been filed and adjusted to allow tensioner-less 18-15. Anyone remember what hanger I need? Cheers! Brett
  22. Such a lovely looking machine!!
  23. As another person who suffers from this, being 36 and very much relearning as not properly riding in about 10+ years. Being super visible and falling off a lot, I try to block out the noise - which in some cases on an evening with a drunk audience passing by can be difficult. I am finding each time getting into a headspace where I am focused on what I am doing on the bike rather than all around it, sometimes music helped as well. Failing that, as already suggested - working out which spots and when is best to ride them is always my fallback.
  24. Weird as actually you look at the coverage they mention within the cycling community, where people like Danny or Fabio are top names that most other bike disciplines know (due to their media) yet there is the response above from British Cycling? Though saying that, how much do you blur the trials vs MTB with those guys - as Martyn states Danny isn't a top 'proper trials' rider - is it a branding thing? To me, it's always been a bit of an outsider type of riding which I kind of like.. but it doesn't really grow the sport.
