  1. i have 10mm plus the headtube was longer than my previous frame so the steerer tube is a bit on the short side. steve
  2. sd7's are awesome, two of them of chainreationcycles are sub £15
  3. i personally dont mind having a light gear, but for others its a pain in the ass.it all depends how fast and how far you want to travel on your trials bike. steve
  4. the most popular gear choices for stock are 18:15 or 18:16 ,i personally would reccomend the 18:16 gear ratio to start of on as it should help with your riding more as the drivetrain will be slightly more responsive. steve
  5. in my opinion skill beats strength ,i reckon its something like 70:30 . steve
  6. new members cant make polls can they? great reply to the topic ,food is good i like both but i always ride street as there very little natural to be found near me. steve
  7. sounds all good i vote for white rims if you get d.o.b rims ,that what i was thinking about getting for my bike like i reckon it'll look quite smart.
  8. do you mean the chain is going to rub on the chainstays? i have a fairly small gap between my chainstays and chain on my simtra, and im running 18:15 .just wondering, what frame are you using ? steve
  9. please whatever you do dont bleed with water if i was you i would wash the rotor well and sand the pads a bit, then i would ride down a big ass hill whilst dragging the brake to heat it up,once at the bottom pour cool wter over the rotor.then ride down the hill again dragging the brake pouring the water a few times more and the brake should be bedding in now,so hopefully your brake performance will improve. steve
  10. haven't rode a smooth rim for ages but danny kearns's front brake was amazing when i rode brum a few weeks ago, neco red they were. steve
  11. QUOTE (danny B @ Mar 11 2008, 03:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>i have asked on my pro model for it to be speced with the last years dropout to fit my king which will be a lot better for the british and american market because not all of us lot run the scary freewheels lol and my bikes geo is a little different with it having a different head angle and its a bit longer but will still be just as light and rigid..... have you got any pictures of your bike built up? steve
  12. as far as i know tunnicliffe uses a maggie and a bb7 disc.
  13. do what the others have mentioned but pour boling water from the kettle onto the thraeds of the cranks a moment before you try undoing the freewheel, this helps the freewheel come of. steve
  14. i very much doubt that frames are released now a days that have major floors in them like they used too,i personally would say that most of todays trials frame(excluding super light comp frames) are to a very high standard and must be really strong.for example todays frames take a battering and hold up,but imagine what riders such as neil tunnicliffe would do to a t-rapter ,surely this show the my point. steve
  15. theers lot of factor that determen how good vees, maggies, disc perofrm ,from how they are setup too the conditions that they work in. yes vees can be as good as disc, and sometime even better.just check out videos of ali c ,he use vee's and they seem to work very well for him. steve
