In no way am i saying someone has the right to nick your bike no matter where it is locked but that is probably one of the worst areas you could of locked a bike in Glasgow. p,s, do you know for a fact it was a "weegie" who nicked it or is that just a presumption because it was in Glasgow?

What does it actually do to your brake I can see it moves the point where it is pulled from towards the bar or away from, it does this increase modulation when wound in?

I have never noticed it make a noise at all and I have an uncovered braided hose, mine is a really neat fit so dosent have a lot of room to move.

Yeah it looks pretty sweet Ive done it to my 2011 echo pure. Mainly cause I was bored and it was out of warranty anyway, if i were you id leave it the alone it will effect the resale value if you ever decide to part with it and unless you have it resprayed properly once you have taken chunks off it it will leave it looking not so sick.

I have used fizik bar tape and bonty stuff on my fixie instead of normal grips. the bonty stuff is very thin and quite unforgiving the fizik tape was a bit dearer but was slightly thicker and foamy which when wrapped tightly is very comfortable. Ill see if i have the off cuts for you to try ill chuck them at Ross for you. Stay away from the kinda leather effect stuff its slippy when sweaty.

could make a pretty sweet singlespeed setup if you have problems getting bits for gears lighter and cleaner looking.

xtr lever phat backings heatsink yellows (on grey d521) sd5/7 calipers xtr booster primo linear cable I find the slimmer profile of the xtr lever comfier than the avid sd7 but the sd7 to be a better quality lever and much better value for money. On the 521 the yellow pads had no modualtion for manuals etc but was a crazy powerful brake when twined with the xtr booster.

I love Glasgow for the reason as long as your smart and dont give abuse back to the "neds" (aka chavs)you wont end up with a knife in you. As for the police I have been stopped on a number of occassions and for the most part has been a "come on guys that is amazing what your doing but can you just find a spot thats out the way of passers by" which is fair play. Another time a riot van pulled over next to a wall I had just went up I was summond over with my tale between my legs expecting an ear full and the WPC asked me if i could go up it again as she missed it the first time. Kinda changed my stereotype of the police.

It wasn't the best he replaced it with a brand new hope a few weeks before. Echo sl is where it's at
