Is There A Budget Way To Re-true A Brake Rotor?
r2wtrials replied to Herr.Wolfkatze's topic in Trials Chat
Tight arse... just buy a new one!!! -
Question for anyone who has had a Justice in the past... if you remove the seat thingy do you end up with 4 tabs sticking up to catch you bollox on? Not keen on the seat myself, but like the frame and colours... although i would love a white and black version.
-
There are still a few of us Pure riders around then... very nice.
-
I like the red and white Justice... almost matches my Beta ... and if the frame set comes in black and grey that would look good with my existing running gear.... like the geo as well.
-
Do as some motorcycle clubs do... pre enter only, but if you can't ride and let them know the day before they will not cash your cheque.

Here is the front of my Echo Pure... Hi-fi forks and tryall disc. The Hope caliper is a number 3. Unfortunately the Tryall disc is actually 183mm so it had to have a shave on my bench grinder

Went to Devon for the latest British round last weekend... full gallery from a link on my homepage... was a bit dark in the woods for pictures but some came out ok.

Thanks for the compliments ... only going to change if the right deal and frame comes along. Had a couple of rides on the new f/w and it is so far very nice. Not one skip yet, the sound i am dreading now It has 72 take up points against i think the 60 of the tensile and for some reason i seem to be able to control the bike better on the back wheel with it.... no idea why, far too technical for me to think about whilst i am concentrating on my balance!! It also sounds very nice !!
-
I am thinking of a new frame in the next few months that is likely to have a +30 or so BB so the slightly higher set-up i have now should suit that as well. See how spare cash goes and will choose between an Atomz, Limey3, zoo or an Ashton (if it ever arrives!!)
-
Well, the exploding Tensile f/w meant i needed to not only replace that, but also it took out my 74kingz tensioner when it let go... as well as my bollocks nearly!! I have also fitted my old Hi-fi forks along with a new Echo tr72 f/w and tensile tensioner.... since last time i have also added the trialtech half bash ring, tryall disc, phatpads and have lost all the stackers to get the feel about right for riding with my knackered back.... looks high i know for a low BB bike but it is the difference between riding for 15 minutes with a low stem and bar or a couple of hours before the ibuprofen is needed like this!! ... and that is my new BBQ as well, no bling added to that.... yet!
-
Just to try and clear it up a bit... the bottom bracket and the crank arm fitting are not related to the freewheel design we are talking about. The tensile freewheel has a ribbed/splined bit if you look from the back and this is the same as a standard bottom bracket removal tool. Use a BB tool to remove it but make sure you have a big strong vice attached to a big heavy bench!!! ... but by the sounds of it i would take it to local shop and ask them to remove it for you...
-
Now i have a new freewheel i have had about an hour out playing tonight and they work a treat. Stops my 14 stone from forward motion real quick ... the feel through the lever is much better than previous plastic backed pads as well. More "solid"
-
... unlike the onza it is tubular rather than pressed or liquid formed sheeting.
-
... now this looks nice. Nice clean graphics and lines. All been getting a bit samey with the weird colours and graphics designs going on lately. Some have started to look a bit fussy! Full article on Tribalzine Here and would help if i spelt Ozonys correctly as well !!
-
... remains of my Tensile this week!! I have a new Echo tr72 on now... will find out what it is like when i can stand on the bike again!!
-
Back when i first had a play at biketrial it was the era of the two Martins... tricks and stunts was brilliant at the time, really made me want to go out and ride.
-
... I had the snip just after Christmas, if i had known this was going to happen i would have waited

Whats Better Phat Pads Or Tnn Engineering Pads?
r2wtrials replied to LukasMcNeal's topic in Trials Chat
As i am not in the habit of looking at my pads when riding i am not going to base my choice on what they look like.... Just had some phatpads delivered and had about an hours worth of riding and am very pleased with them. Was using Rock Blues and i find these phatpads feel and sound just that little bit better... does what they are supposed to do, stop. No slippage and they lock solid when needed. I am using on a light grind. Thr TNN's may well be as good.... can't see at my level how they can be better as the phatpads lock up and don't slip which is what a brake is needed to do afterall!! Pay's you money, take you choice. -
Just hopped onto three blue pallets and was about to go across the gap onto another set.... went bang on take off and i landed between the two Made Rob laugh anyway!!!.. Bloody lucky i haven't the skill or bottle to do 10 pallets high ... anyway, this is what the bike looked like about 15 minutes before it happened. Just fitted hi-fi forks and removed stackers to bring the bar height down a bit but still comfortable for my knackered back (even more knackered now!!) Had just fitted the new Phat Pads as well... they work lovely, for the 10 minutes i managed to ride... !
-
... not only did it produce blood and a big bruise on me, when it all went bang and the chain tension let go and whatever else happened it snapped my 24 kingz tensioner!!! Bollox
-
After 2 months this happened to my Tensile freewheel tonight.... ... and it bloody hurt as i collected the bike on the way down off the pallets!!! Now i am not a good rider so stay safe and don't do big drop offs etc... would you expect them to last longer than a couple of months?
