  1. It looks really cool, but why do they always seem to have really low bbs? Wish I had one of them when I was younger!

    New Fork

Yes, if they have 4 bolt mounts or Vee mounts it creates a "stress riser", which is basically a point where all the flexing forces going through the fork are concentrated on, so they will normally crack there Think about the old T-Pro frames, the 04-07 ones. The gusset connecting the headtube and the downtube had a closed end, so all the forces were concentrated on the point of the gusset, so nearly all of them that cracked went there. I've got 07 Controls, which I think are just about the lightest fork out apart from Dobs, and the flex in them is really noticeable even for me, I rode down a hill recently and braked really hard on the front brake a few times, and I could see the fork flexing backwards by about 30-40mm at a guess. Apparantly the TrialTech forks are super strong, bit pricy but it'd be worth it if you couldn't break them.
  3. Trialtechs are a different bend from Monty's, kind of in between Czar/Zoo/Adamant bars and TI bars. I've got TIs on my Mod, and TrialTechs on my Stock, they're mint.
  4. Haha, remember when someone did an auto t-rex fattima? That was priceless.
  5. No stickers at all looks by far the best, but still an improvement.
  6. He put it on trialstube aswell, so it's available for download.
  7. 3 Echo Lites? 3?! Madness. The Hoesel looks sweet, I wouldn't have thought red rims would look nice on a Hoesel, but they do.
  8. Ctrl + X,C,V are just easier to use I've found, especially as you don't have to look to find them. Time is money haha.
  9. The biggest weight saving you could make is if your running Maxxis tyres. These are supposedly really good, Stan Shaw uses one and loves it, but they arn't that good at pinch protection. They're 400g lighter than a dual ply 2.50 Minion though. Looking at your bike, the first thing I'd change would be the cranks, I'd imagine they are pretty heavy with that big bashring.
  10. Nope Ciguenas have horizontal dropouts. It's a nice idea, but if your going to be playing around with gear ratios then horizontal dropouts are best, I'm running 16:13 and I get quite a lot of chain slap, but I can't get another link out of the chain. I've got my tensioner set really really tight aswell, so I think I'll just have to wait until my chain stretches, then get a link out. I've got a KHE Collapse though, so waiting for it to stretch might not work.
  11. That sounded funny in my head. :$
  12. I know, Fishy was there to take the photo's, expect them on the forum as soon as he finds something to read an SD card.
  13. Because your fate is set in stone, you'll be stuck here for ever.... What is the point in this topic? It's like racist but towards pre-members.
  14. Haha, your utterly dire jokes rival those of Sonny Clarke, well done!
  15. Because it uses up two hands instead of one, so you then have to find the mouse again whilst your looking at the screen. Unless you use your left hand on the mouse, then I could see the point.
  16. Your best bet is to have a look at the Koxx frames I reckon, on Tarty it says they are designed for 18:15 I think. Well the Koxx Coust is anyway.
  17. Best bump ever that, 4 words that made the worst insult I have ever seen or heard, were you actually trying to rip into me? I'm not sure it was that lame. Make more effort next time.
  18. Haha, you dick, you actually do hit it with a hammer, I have never done it any other way.

If they ran their date properly, it would make life easier in a lot of situations. Normally I wouldn't say they are wrong, but the whole of the world does it the way we do.
  20. It's nice, but way too many stickers. Why do you keep making topics for your bike pictures? Use the bike pics thread, it was made so that NMC wasn't filled with pictures of bikes.
  21. Yeh mines home made aswell haha, my Dad machined the pressing bits on his lathe at work. That was the only other thing I could think of, if you hammer them in it can warp the cups I think, then they don't sit right in the frame.

I meant to write 7, dunno why I put 11 haha. I think I'll use the early morning excuse for this one...
  23. How did you fit the headset cups? With headset press or with a hammer?
  24. If it's a square taper bb your after, you can't go wrong with a Shimano UN54, they're amazing. (I think it's UN54 anyway, they changed the number a while ago).

I must have been 11 when this happened, doesn't seem like 11 years ago. Did anyone watch the 9/11 hotel thing last night? It was really good, very moving though, especially when the receptionist lady was decribing the rythmic thumping as people jumped out.
