  1. I stuck dacshow in on google, and this is the only thing of relevance that came up? http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=FJTLUaWYd78
  2. Thought about using a sliding wedge system instead? Like and old quill type stem? Then they'd fit in almost any bar.
  3. It would have to be a near perfect fit, so you would need the actual bars they are being made for. I'm not convinced it will work anyway, with it being wood it could easily compress and work loose in the bar.
  4. Maybe, but a large nail with the end ground off a bit would be better.
  5. Remove the picture Cai, it's only your little finger that goes on the extender normally, maybe the third, but there won't be a huge amount of force on them.
  6. Do you have a vice, or a way of clamping the crank arm to something, a center punch, a hammer, stuff for cleaning it, stuff for relubing it afterwards, and all the stuff needed to get the crank arm off the bike and the pedal off? If the answer to any of those is no, then you need to get them, otherwise it probably can't be done.
  7. I made some today. I cut some 20mm long pieces of dowell that was about 22mm thick, drill it right through with a 6mm bit, then half way with a 10mm bit. This gives a recess for an M6 bolt to sit in. I then got some pieces of round rubber from somewhere that were conviniently the same size as the inside of the handlebars. I then found a pair of washers that were roughy the same size as the inside of the bar. Then I put the bolt through the wood, then the rubber on, then the washer, then a small non nilock nut. (The nut somehow has enough purchase on the surface so it doesn't just spin round). Then put the rubber bit in your bar, and tighten up the bolt to secure them in, then wrap tape round the wood bit until it's the same thickness as the bar. Or, just do what Ali C did. Hammer the wood down the bar, then wrap tape round it. They seem fine, I have been riding them all day with no trouble.

    Depression

I got through it without any clinical help, and I told you what helped me. Keep active, and try to get to bed early so you wake up refreshed and then you can be ready to take on the day. Something my mum once told me, sounds really boring, but it could work. Keep a diary, and then you can see the progress your making with things in your life, so you can set yourself targets and stuff, which makes you feel fulfilled and gives you something to work for. I'm not an expert, and I never tried the diary thing by the way, but I hope that I've helped you, because depression is f**king awful.
  9. Disks are the bestest. It all depends on what you prefer really, I have used shit hot maguras in the past, and still prefer the disc. Try both and then you will be able to decide for yourself.

    Depression

Well, the one thing that unites us all on this forum is trials. So my advice is, get out on your bike, get some fresh air. It really sorts my head out. It's clinically proven that excersise makes you think clearer and feel happier. Also, drink lots of water. Helps me to sleep better and think clearer, which in turn, puts me in a better mood. Good luck mate, it's shit but you'll get through it.

    New Bars Advice

it makes a big difference, as I have established already by putting the pieces of old bar inside the grips, but they move a lot. Still, thanks for your truely helpful post. That answered my question really well. Cheers guys, but I have my own extenders sketched up, hopefully my Dad will get a chance to make them some time soon. I'll revive this topic by posting pictures up when they're done.
  12. A bashplate gives more protection, and a ring is lighter. It's up to you really, but I'd upgrade the cranks first.
  13. Oooh, Inur's riding style, videoing flair/editing, HD, and on a Mod. My dream video.
  14. You were definately did the right thing George, you couldn't have done better. Isn't it strange, you get in that situation and you care so much, having never met the person before. You knew nothing about her and yet were still willing to do everything to try and save her. True hero mate.
  15. I contributed to the Wiki about this a while back, the pump method. http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/wiki/How_to_...onto_handlebars You can also zip tie the whole lot together, put the bike on the floor, push the grip with one hand and pump with the other. No need for a helper. I've used this method every time for about 5 years or more.
  16. Yeh I reckon they are well priced for what they are, if you want a DD frame for less than £300, the Lite is probably the best option.

    Beau

I don't know why he didn't speak to you, maybe he was intimidated? Can't blame him really, you've been chucked out, slept in your car for a while, and ran down an old man. I know that's not how any of those things happened and they were complicated, but thats the way it reads when you gloss over it. I have clearly missed everything offensive that Kool/Snappell has said, but from what he has posted here, you guys, (Danny and Sheenan), need to lighten up. I know you both well enough by now but i think you've gone over the top this time.
  18. To be fair, my 07 maggy was absolutely brilliant, but I had the 08 disc built up at the same time. The 08 disc definately rode slightly better, and felt stiffer, so what your saying must be true, I have only heard of one braking so far, but anyway. if you are not a very heavy rider, then the 08 disc will be fine. Remember the Lite isn't a full on street frame, it is supposed to be more of a natty/techy frame according to the email I got from God Deng.

    Beau

Sorry Beau, I didn't mean to start the argument up again, I just had it in my head about you were doing 30mph backwards or it was spoken about in your original topic. Sounds like your getting you life back on track, which is a good thing. If econtrols stuff has really been lost in the post, only you, the sender, can claim compensation. If you want to get everything sorted out, it would be good to get him his money back from them. Who is Kool and the gang? All these name changes are getting on my tits now. Anyway, what he posted wasn't that overly nasty, it was a bit of a crack at the fact that £25 and a hub doesn't pay off for the stress he has caused. EDIT: Lets all just be friends. Beau is trying to sort it all out, and has solved half of the problem. Nice one mate, now finish off the rest. Finish the bitching about nothing.
  20. If you want a really strong, but heavy frame then buy one of the new GU disc frames. I've owned 3 now, and 06 maggy short, 07 maggy long and an 08 disc long. The 08 has been by far the best so far. If that is all true and they should be very flexy, why aren't they? I've given my opinoin of them, so I'm not going to argue the side any more, I'm just interested to know. Also, what is specifically wrong with the design? I don't know how I'd improve it really.

How can you say your not in the wrong? You reversed too fast I seem to remember.
  22. Best frames ever produced! For me, it has absolutely perfect geo, everything is middle ground. It's not too short or long, high or low etc. Stiffest frame I have ever owned, pretty light, and cheap as well. buy one, you'll love it. I'm talking about the disc and the maggy versions here, I have owned both.
  23. It saves about 40g. You can feel if you loose 100g from your bike, and as they say, it all adds up. This is just the next level of removing material to make the bike lighter.
  24. Thanks for posting that, that did a super job of wasting my time. It's niether funny, or even a severe enough level of noob to warrent posting it up.
  25. Hmm, now to fit the crank bolts. Whiiizzzzzeeeeee!!!! Looks noice simpface, I hope you prefer it to the Monty.
