  1. Good vid! Glad to know you're pleased with my profile.
  2. I meant over most of the normal KMC's it saves nearly 300g's. But even if is just 200g's, that's quite a lot! I'm not going to get one though because it's too much of a risk. If you are saving that much weight than the strength must be dramatically decreasing, and a chain is something I don't particularly want to snap. Im guessing monty designed it for comp use only, and If i got one i would just use it for everything and all the time so the chances of it snapping are high. Also the monty team riders probably get a new one every comp where as I can't afford £40 every month!.
  3. The "yehhh" at the end of every clip was annoyin bu riding was good, smooth front wheel gaps!
  4. The lightest trials specific BB you can get is the neon Ti not the carbon shell one. Neon cranks Koxx 'H' hubs Dob rims with square holes and 2nd wall removed Alloy spokes/nipples Koxx forxx Front koxx tyre with side tread removed Rear creepy crawler also with side tread removed Stem and bars can't really save you that much weight. Monty chain saves almost 300g's instead of KMC's. Duel maggy's with drilled mounts and lever blades. You can get away with drilling the sidewalls of the rims even if you are running rim brakes. One of the koxx team riders has done this! Alloy bolts through out. Foam grips (cut down a bit) Drill middle of stem clamp, and top cap. Drill the hub flange, in between the spoke holes. Drill rear sprocket, a lot. Wellgo mag pedals with Ti axels Grind the rims a few times. Only use half worn down pads (too weight weenie-e even for me but oh well...) Cut down fork steerer tube as much as possible. Remove all the pins on one side of pedals. Drill hub shell. Don't run a bash, or if you really need one...get a try-all symetric. That's about all I can think of, most of which has probably already been said but I couldn't be bothered to read all these long lists.
  5. I try to make my bike as light as possible because I want to. As you said before, I'm not exactly a top class rider, so therefore I'm going to take every advantage I can to make my self better. If I can buy something which doesn't make my bike ride horrible, isn't going to break straight away and is light....what's wrong with that? I believe I have improved a lot since I rode regular weight bikes, this may have been down to weight but I doubt it, however I guarantee that in some way having a light bike does help...even if it's just a mental thing. The reason I "dispute" about how much a bike weighs is because just by looking at the spec of a bike I can tell that a certain weight isn't possible with certain parts, it's a fact! For example, on Joe's Onza it has a King back hub which weighs nearly double what a try-all does, and all the other parts are pretty average weight wise (frame is about 2kg's?). To get a bike to 8.3kg's you either need a lot of koxx/dob parts or a lot of holes. I may be completely wrong but it's just what I think, afterall this is a discussion forum. Im proud of bike still riding nice (IMO) and being around 8.5kg's! About the whole weight thing I would just say that it's each to their own really. No one is wrong/right.
  6. Returns tomorrow, so should be on the net friday sometime.
  7. I'm using heatsink snowy's at the moment and they are completely silent! My grinding disk is at least 1.7mm so could give a 1.5 a go.
  8. Had my rear Dob rim for about a month now and I've never been able to get a nice sharp grind on it. I've always had a really noisy back brake with a med sharp grind but since I got this mag rim the sharpness is just non-existent! The grind also wears down pretty quickly which I suppose would be expected as it is a softer metal, but even so, for the short amount of time where it isn't worn down...it should be sharp. Pads have always been setup perfectly, perfect bleed and pads aren't worn at an angle. When grinding I normally have the grinder at a 90 degree angle and I recently put a new disk in it which has made a bit of a difference but not as much as I would like. I have used coust pads, worn plaz and worn snowy's on it and all have been much the same, going to be ordering some Neco pads soon so I'll see how they are but in the meantime.... Is anyone else having this problem? Is it purely down to the fact that the metal is softer?
  9. He had dob rims, alloy spokes, try-all 'H' hubs, bash plate mountings ground off, bash ring, ti bolts and a lighter tyre option (probs other stuff to make it lighter aswell). It makes a lot of difference! Even if your bike is 8.3 instead of 7.8, it's still really light, at least as light as mine.
  10. It is one of my favourite films and the stone roses are one of my favourite bands.
  11. f**king tuuuuunes!!!!! First 2 from lock stock. Riding was class.
  12. Jesus! No offence but I will be seriously surprised if that is 7.8kg's. Looks nice though.
  13. Really good vid, nice style.
  14. Nice find! It looks stunning and has some good modifications. Every original hole has been filed out and anything without a hole has been drilled lol. Looks so simple.
  15. (racist joke) What's the difference between a black dad and a bench?
  16. Im not to sure on it being 8.3 either, thats only 200g's heavier than Tarty Adam's xtp which has koxx hubs, dob rims and a lighter frame.
  17. Oh my god, definately one of the best videos I've seen for a while! Front wheel gaps were massive, and I liked the way everything was part of a line not just one move clips. 2 criticisms.... music and sidehop style.
  18. Almost definitely going to be about 4 jersey riders there, but we were planning on going later in the summer holidays, like august time? Most of us have college up until july anyway.
  19. Try-alls look the best but fall apart within weeks. Tridents look good aswell but not sure on wear rate yet. Ribos just look horrible and fall apart. I would go listen to what other people saying and go for the tridents.
